xxxxx Samuel used to be a rich kid, growing up in a nice secluded neighborhood for other rich kids. He was never a big deal or anything, but life was easy...until his mutation kicked in at graduation, and suddenly his life turned upside down. Once a simple young man who feared mutants, he's now found himself as one of those who is hated and feared, unleashed on a world he's been sheltered from. Will he break, or will a better man rise from the ashes?

xxxxx Samuel is a green scaled snake person with a long green tail acting as a replacement for his legs. He sports a relatively imposing height when fully propped up, but is moreso thick then built powerfully. Samuel is very reliant on glasses to see clearly, which don't fit on his face well.

xxxxxMost people have never heard of Samuel Copra. However, he is known to the purifiers as the child of one of their members, and a request was put out for his elimination if found.

xxxxxSamuel was born into a middle class family with a pretty good social standing. His father was a professor with religious ties, and his mother was a doctor who worked long hours. He grew up in a nice neighborhood and a small town, one which was relatively out in the woods. Due to a very deliberately crafted upbringing, Samuel has had very little exposure to the wider world. He wasn’t allowed to use the internet freely, but he was allowed to watch a lot of tv and read a lot of books. Thus, he felt more comfortable in the embrace of fiction then out in the neighborhood with other kids.
Samuel’s parents had separate reasons for raising him in such generally limited circumstances. Sam’s father felt the new generation had an increase in sinfulness and degeneracy, and felt the internet had made it possible. Thus, by keeping his child from being exposed to bad influences, he could keep his child pure. His mother came from a mutant family out in the marshlands, with both her mother and father being reptilian mutants. She was not like that, and eventually grew to harbor a resentment and dislike for mutants as she fell in with organized religion, leading her to believe they were impure and dangerous. Her worst fear was that her son would turn out like her parents…especially since she’d become a member of the purifiers in years after marriage.
In time, Samuel grew into a good student, an obedient child, and a subpar big brother to his little sister. He avoided risks, did what was expected of him, and kept to himself with books and stories of heroes that could always defeat evil, of knights who slayed dragons and won the hearts of princesses, and especially stories about children who stood against impossible odds and came out on top. He yearned to be like that, but in reality he didn’t even have the nerve to talk to a girl he thought looked cute. So Sam resigned himself to be the side character, the background guy, the one who watches others live. After all, what’s so special about him?
In one day, everything came crashing down. It was graduation, the day on which boys become men. He’d been called up onto that stage, and was being handed a diploma. In that moment, he couldn’t help but smile…unaware that his X-gene had begun to activate earlier that day. The crowd and cameras all saw a young man with fangs and an off color liquid in his mouth, and a smile that was just a little too wide for any human to give. Panic and hysteria set in, and suddenly people were either coming at him or running away from him. It all became a blur of fight or flight, and he chose flight. He was scared, and so was everyone else. The specifics are hard and unwanted to recall, but what stuck with him in the moment was his parents staring at him from the bleachers. The look of horror and fear, their complete inaction…paralysis or choice? It didn’t matter. He ran. He just ran and ran until he couldn’t. And eventually, he got on a bus. For a while, all he could do was just flee from place to place, trying to hide who he was and what he’d become.

xxxxx Skin Shedding (can heal minor injuries), Paralyzing venom (Can immobilize a person via bite, impacts a person quickly but doesn't last long), contortionist (can bend his body in impossible ways and fit into small spaces), Poison Spit (Samuel's saliva is toxic, and can inflict a lethal toxin on people. Requires medical treatment or a healing factor to deal with it, does NOT wear off like the paralyzing venom.), Regeneration (can regrow lost limbs. This is slow.) Prehensile tail (Can grab objects and exert superhuman strength with it, can throw vending machine sized objects at maximum, capable of smashing a car door in with it), Unhingable jaw (Can open his mouth incredibly wide), Superhuman bite power (Can crush metal in a bite, and hold heavy objects in his mouth. Side note: Do not make him eat metal), Constriction (Can twist his body around someone and squeeze to induce immense pain, can potentially damage bones if there is lethal intent.)

xxxxxSamuel is a pretty adept reader, tearing through books at pretty high speeds if invested. He's also performed relatively well academically (albeit falling off a bit in high school). Due to being a media buff, he's an expert in film and cameras, with aspirations to be an actor in a hollywood movie leading to him developing some pretty solid acting skills. This has a side effect of making him a great liar who can mask his emotions when needed...and he's really started to feel the need to lean into that talent lately.
