Why, thank you, Paige, but I was already quite fucking aware of this fucking fact." Grumble, grumble. "Oh, for sure, these sessions will help. Go bitch about your stupid fucking privileged life to other people, that'll make you -fast- friends." The caustic remarks are filled with a nearly caustic level of vitriol. "Can't get your fucking eyes off of fucking blue people. Sure they have sharp fucking teeth, but, guess what? You have -horns-. Fucking -horns-. Fucking horns, Paige, that's what you got." Her fingers swiping on the device, she spares a glance to her boots. "Oh, right, and stupid, -stupid- fucking feet. Don't forget about that."

A deep breath. "Right." Paige inhales again and sighs. "Sign language." Her anxiety remains evident in the tension of her body language as she hunches over the phone, although there is much less hatred in her tone as she mutters, "Damn lemurs. Stupid cute fucking lemurs. Hate them." The young, horned woman puts her phone in her lap as she attempts to produce the depicted gesture by moving her right hand, flat, clockwise over the center of her chest.

"Damn lemurs."

Location

<NYC> Harbor Commons - Rooftop - Lower East Side

An open-air escape especially popular with smokers and fliers, the Common House rooftop makes good use of its limited space. The railing that circles it has child-resistant gates where walkways can be extended to connect to the other buildings in the development. A colorful and ever-changing table with sometimes-matching benches provides an ideal spot for an urban picnic. There are two garden boxes on the south-facing side, one for vegetables and the other for herbs and flowers, a tool shed and small patio table with chairs between them.

"Fuck me," Paige reproaches herself crassly after the others have left, putting her back against the toolshed and sliding to the ground. She brings her knees up to her chest. "Just...fuck me." This one is said with a groan as she drops her head into her palms. Her fingers gently, accidentally, touch the base of a horn before recoiling as though repulsed by what they find. "And fuck you too," she grumbles at her horns. "Nothing but shit." A pause. "-I'm- nothing but shit."

Dark thoughts swirling in her mind, she removes her hands from her face and pulls a small phone from the back pocket of her pants. "Fucking piece of fucking shit," she mutters to herself, at herself, while poking at the mobile device. At least Steve's money from the other week paid off - the horned woman was able to purchase a prepaid phone for less than twenty dollars. "You know what Paige? You're fucking shit. Why, thank you, Paige, but I was already quite fucking aware of this fucking fact." Grumble, grumble. "Oh, for sure, these sessions will help. Go bitch about your stupid fucking privileged life to other people, that'll make you -fast- friends." The caustic remarks are filled with a high level of vitriol.

The young woman falls silent for a couple of minutes before she finally seems to find what she's looking for on her phone. However, she then rolls her eyes at the commentary running through her brain. "They want to hurt us, Paige. They'll hurt you, they could -kill- you. Mutants can't be trusted. You can't be a fucking IDIOT!" The last word increases in volume exponentially, though her voice soon drops back down to a hushed whisper. "Well, guess fucking what? Maybe they -will- kill me and -maybe- it's just because I'm a fucking privileged asshole who can't treat people with basic fucking respect by not -staring- at them! AAAAH!" A sound of angry frustration. Mumbling more curses to herself, she turns back to the Internet page she was examining using the Commons' WiFi.
