xxxxxHypnosis: Echo is a mutant with the ability to generate sonic pulses into pools of water. Vibratory, these pulses can have a hypnotic effect. Generally interpreted as a calming aura, those put under hypnosis are still able to hear, respond, and even act albeit slowly. As with many instances of hypnosis, subjects gain the ability to concentrate intensely on any train of thought or memory without distraction. Subjects are often inclined to tell the truth.
xxxxxPosthypnotic Suggestion: Echo is able to specify one action or idea to a hypnotized individual to be performed or take hold after awakening from hypnosis. This single, dominant idea moves to the forefront of the subject’s mind. Whether the subject acts upon or allows themselves to believe an idea depends on their own individual force of will.
xxxxxPosthypnotic Amnesia: Upon awakening from their hypnotic state, a subject experiences memory gaps, losing all information learned during or about their time under hypnosis. This essentially makes Echo “memory proof.” Rarely, memories of these interactions can resurface during similar trancelike states such as sleep.
xxxxxThose mutants with specific immunities to attacks of a sonic nature are resistant to Echo’s abilities, as well as many telepaths with particular control over their own mental state. Any opposing sonic vibration in the water that Echo is using as a conduit could disrupt her.
