| {{Tab}} Hank's worked in a number of different scientific fields, genetics, biochemistry, theoretical physics. While working for a genetics research firm, Hank thought he had perfected a 'cure' for his mutation and pursued it vigorously. After much internal debate he finally decided to test the drug on himself. It worked completely - for about an hour, at which point his mutation reversed, and with interest. This is when his strength and healing factor truly went off the charts as well, and he also sprouted the thick, bright blue fur all over his body. He spent weeks wrestling with the rage constantly trying to bubble up through this new form. Eventually he got it under control, but not by himself. It was only through the help of Professor Xavier that Beast found the inner calm to be both Hank AND the Beast, without going on a rampage every time someone stole his stapler.
