<BOM> Beachfront - Ascension Island | |
Largely rocky and desolate, the majority of the waterfront on this small island is an unwelcoming place. Craggy and forbidding, lined with jagged black rocks, the coast here can take a fair bit of scrambling to navigate. Here and there, though, the coastline levels out to narrow sweeps of pebbly beaches littered with shells and seaweed carried in on the frigid tide. Occasional old trunks of fallen trees dot the narrow beach, victims of the storms that frequently plague the island. One small stretch of the western shore holds a small dock, a few boats usually moored there. Tucked off the mainland coast in Jamaica Bay, the buildings and lights of the city can be seen far across the water. It's early dusk, the sun beginning to set over the ocean, casting pink and orange rays across the sky. Anette's found a relatively flat place on the beach and has laid a blanket over it and is sitting on it herself, leaning back on her arms. She wears a dark sweatshirt, leggings, and black boots, her wings fluffed and relaxed behind her. She's quietly, merely staring out into the sunset, apparently lost in her thoughts. Akihiro wanders on over to where Anette is and promptly takes a seat next to her. "Hey there beautiful." he greets lightly, adjusting so he's lying on his back as well. "I miss anything exciting?" He's dressed in a similar fashion, sporting a pair of jogging pants and an old hoodie. Anette smiles as Akihiro joins her, inching over a bit so there's more room for him on the blanket. "Nothing. Just enjoying the warmer weather. How have you been sweetie?" "Pretty good." Akihiro rolls over onto his side to press a kiss to Anette's cheek. "How about you, everything alright?" He rests his cheek on his palm, keeping his head upright. His right hand moves to gently rub Anette's stomach. Anette smiles softly as Akihiro places his hand on her stomach. "Alright. Morning sickness has passed." She leans over and gently kisses Akihiro. "Still weird. It doesn't...feel real." "That's good." Akihiro returns the kiss, nipping lightly at Anette's lower lip. "Yeah, it's not something either of us was really expecting." For the moment he seems perfectly content to just be here next to her. "I'd say 'actively avoiding' is a better description." Anette leans back and stares out into the sunset again. "I just...can't stop thinking about it. If it's a boy or girl. Mutant or human. Maybe even twins..." She shakes her head gently. "What kind of parents we'll be..." "I think we'll just have to wait and see. But I think we'll be pretty good parents." Akihiro leans in and lowers his voice, even though it's just them out at the moment, "But if you want, I could distract you a bit later. Turn on a good movie, make some popcorn or whatever for you, and I'm sure I could find something to eat." Anette grins and wraps a wing around Akihiro. "I'm sure we can do something later. You know I like it when you distract me." She inches closer to him though she continues to stare out into the sunset, slowly dipping lower and casting more colors across the sky, reflected on the ocean. "It's almost been three months now. I'm almost three months along." "And you know how much I like to distract you." Akihiro inches closer so he can look out at the sunset with Anette. "For what it's worth, it's been a pretty good three months. I think I could handle another seventy years of this." He removes the hand from her stomach, instead going to take her hand now. "Oh yeah. Especially the part where I'll be long dead and your child will be seventy. And you'll still look like a Calven Klein model," Anette says, laying her head on his shoulder. "I just wish I knew we were doing the right thing, having the child and trying to raise it ourselves." "I was thinking more when you'd be ninety and we'd have great grandkids running around." Akihiro rubs his cheek against the top of Anette's head. "I think I could die happy then. Nothing else a man could ask for than to take care of his family." "You're really sure I've going to live to ninety? I'll be surprised if I make it to thirty." Anette says softly, closing her eyes. "Besides it's not like you'll be there. Admit it, you'll move on to some other twenty something when I get old and wrinkly. If I get old and wrinkly." "At least ninety." Akihiro seems certain of it. "When you get old and wrinkly I'll still be right beside you. I didn't fall in love with your skin, I fell in love with you. That isn't going to change, that I can promise." He turns his head to place a kiss atop Anette's, resting his nose in her hair for the time being. "I still think you're insane for it," Anette says, though she smiles softly, closing her eyes as she leans into Akihiro. "Have you thought about names at all?" Anette asks. "Not that we know the sex of the baby or anything yet." "Harleen. Harley. Something like that if it's a girl. Or a boy, Harley is pretty unisex. Maybe Hajime or Hoshi." Akihiro suggests, voice muffled slightly against Anette's head. "Have you been thinking of any?" "I've been thinking of people I like. Which...is a really short list. Ryan, after Dusk. Jackson sorta. He did my tattoo, I don't know if naming your child after your tattoo artist is weird. Regan I guess. Most days anyway." Anette gives a lightly shrug. "Tried looking at Japanese names but nothing stuck out at me. Also I can't pronounce them." "Well, then I guess I'll just have to teach you the language. I know you'd feel left out if your kid and husband were chatting away in a language you didn't understand." Akihiro teases Anette. "But those are all pretty good names. We'll have to make a list. Though we probably won't know for sure until we see them." "I mean, I plan on teaching our kid German. At least the fun words," Anette teases. "Maybe we should wait until we know whether it's a girl or boy. Would be a lot easier, less names to consider." "I don't speak German, but I do speak Vietnamese, Spanish, Russian, Greek, and obviously Japanese." Akihiro grins an unseen grin. "But I think if anything we should stick to two, maybe three, no more than that. And you're right, we should wait and see what we're having." "We sound like proper adults. Like people who have respectable lives with nine to five office jobs. I don't like it," Anette says, smirking as she watches the last of the sun dip below the horizon. "I wanted to just be a terrorist and blow shit up. None of this responsibility crap." "Hey, what we do is respectable. I haven't even got in a fight in ages." Akihiro rolls over so he's atop Anette, leaning on his forearms to keep his weight off of her. "We aren't bad people. Well, you aren't at least." He plants a quick kiss on her lips, then another on her jaw. "Let's take all the happiness we can get." Anette smiles broadly as Akihiro rolls on top of her, loosely wrapping her arms about his shoulders. "This is going to be a lot trickier in a few more months. And I'm a horrible person. I just usually don't care." She doesn't seem to mind the kisses and leans forward to plant a few of her own. "I don't even know what to do with happiness." "I'll just have to get behind you in a few months then." Akihiro breathes into Anette's ear, nipping at the lobe. "And you care too much. Why you got into all those drugs and being a hard ass. So we'll just have to work together to become the people we can be." His kisses move down to her neck, "Work together to become one." "I got into drugs because I'm a trainwreck who can't handle emotions. I'm going to ignore that hardass comment though." She moans softly as Akihiro kisses down her neck but her eyes remain open, glancing towards the side. "This is why I'm worried about us. You want to be better. I'm fine being a walking disaster." Paige pages Kisha and Anette: Most citizens in Dagoata are abject pyrophobes after extremely graphic pamphlets were mailed nationwide by the government. "We both know I love your ass." Akihiro bites Anette's shoulder, pushing his body up against hers. "And I'm fine with us being parallel. Just because I want to do something doesn't mean I'm going to force you to follow suit. I love you regardless." "You say that now..." Anette begins to argue but it's caught off by a low groan as he presses his body against her and she becomes distracted by her own feelings, pressing her hands against his back and holding him close to her. |
