xxxxx Vanisher's only power is teleportation but he is very, very good at it. He most often uses it for escape rather than to help in combat. He is, after all, a coward and a thief, not a warrior. He can teleport in line of sight without even stressing and teleport across the city to one of his safe houses with a little effort. The more time he spends in a place the easier it is for him to teleport to it. He teleports by falling into the Dark-force Dimension. Like Cloak and Dagger only he has access to both light and dark. The Darkness that he travels through would consume him if it wasn't for the Light-force that he can summon from within that acts as a shield against the ravages of the Dark-force. This is why there is a burst of light when he teleports. It is all done instantaneously. The dark force picks him up and drops him in the location he wants to go.
The Dark-force is fed by the light growing stronger every time he ports so it's a good deal for the dimension of living darkness filled with endless hunger. However the light that protects him is limited. If he ports to much the sheath of light fades out and when he ports the darkness starts to feed on *his* life force aggressively. If he jumps able to traverse distances up to ~5 miles, unless he is carrying more than his body weight, which reduces that distance by half, if he carries more than double his body weight the distance is once again halved.
While he can travel with people, they do not enjoy the inner light which protects him so the experience is deeply, deeply unpleasant as the dark force dimension steals a little bit of their very essence every time they teleport leaving them both spiritually and physically drained. It happens so fast that the conscious mind doesn't know why it is horrified but something happens.. something.. you just don't want to have happen again.
This power can be disrupted or even prevented from being used by concentrated electrical or magnetic fields. This includes electrical powers, magnetic powers, electric fences, power stations, EMP weapons that create a static area effect, stun/taser weapons. Especially if it is used directly on him. Stronger fields will affect a larger area for purposes of disruption. Thus he tends to avoid areas near large sources of electrical power by going around or over them.
