xxxxx Mitch Oswald Podmajersky was born in Missoula, MT and was the first of four children. Both of his parents were professors at University of Montana. Life was fairly normal for all the Podmajersky children.
School was a very important aspect in the daily life of Mitch, as a child of professors who constantly pushed his children to excel at academics. Unfortunately for Mitch, he did not have that same drive and squeezed through the education system with average grades. It wasn’t that he was a bad student, or didn’t care, he just didn’t care enough to put in any great effort. About the only class he enjoyed was band.
He ends up playing the snare drum through middle school and eventually the kit in jazz band. Mitch would play in pretty lousy local bands but really excelled and loved playing in Jazz band. His dream was to go to any of the colleges that were the big music names - Juilliard, Eastman, Berkeley or Oberlin.
His power would first materialize his 10th grade year while in class on the kit. He’d end up turning fully into his ooze state, collapsing around the drum throne and kit. Completely freaked out by the situation, the teacher would send the rest of the kids out, lock the doors and call his parents. Eventually Mitch was able to reconstitute himself and began to learn how to appear in a normal state through concentration.
There would be much discussion between the school and his parents, as the school did not want someone that posed a danger to the other students to attend. A trial period was agreed upon and ultimately deemed his powers wouldn’t cause anyone harm. Of course being a slightly green tinted pulsating teen did not make high school any easier.
He’d get accepted into Oberlin and quickly make his way to Ohio. It may have not been exactly what his parents wanted, but Oberlin did have a prestigious drum program. Things were not necessarily different when it came to most students at Oberlin, but at least he could concentrate on the one subject he loved. Thankfully at a music school, there was bound to be some open to a friendship with a mutant and Mitch did develop some close relationships.
Mitch wouldn’t take advantage of Oberlin’s 5 year dual major program and instead put all his eggs into the music conservatory basket. After four years, he would graduate and immediately find employment as a studio drummer. He’d also play in bands, and when work was light, pick up a gig going on tour. He also has received a small amount of acclaim for the two piece doom metal band Garminbozia, though really only in the underground metal scene.
His latest gig was hired as the drummer in Ryan Black’s band, performing in their recent tour.
