<XAV> Lake - Xs Grounds | |
Bright, bright, bright; the lake glitters wide and expansive here, stretching off into the distance. Sunlight, moonlight, starlight, it catches them all. Lapping at the rocky shore, its deep waters are frigid in winter and cool even in summer. A stone pier stretches out a ways into the water, wide and smooth, though often icy in winter. The water teems with life nevertheless, home to myriad species of fish that provide for ample fishing or just lazy watching on a slow summer day, for those who want to take a boat from the boathouse out to the center of the lake, or perhaps lounge on the pier and try their luck. It's gotten chilly as the sun sinks low. Not quite dark, yet, but getting there soon enough, and with the breeze off the lake it's colder out here still. Even so out by the lakeshore there's a small figure, perched on a rock by the water. Marcus is dressed for the weather in thick corduroys, a warm grey and blue sweater; coiled in one of his spindly too-long-fingered blue hands is a very intricately carved string of wooden beads, a crucifix hanging from one end. Right now he just rolls one bead between forefinger and thumb, looking out to the water. Taylor had found himself meandering back to the his spot on the rock. He wasn't sure why he even kept coming back to the lake other than the fact it reminded him most of his home in Lousianna besides that though it just seemed like a place that Taylor got targetd out. He was bundled in his refular bleached hoodie and ripped skinny jeans as he neared his usual perched rock seeing someone already sitting upon it. He let out a small sigh befroe he was about to turn around. He was tired of the kids at this school. Unfortunetly for him as he turned his foot slid on some loose wet rock making him stumble and kick more various rocks around him. SO much for leaving silently. Having spent most of the evening in the woods, a felinoid mutant emerges in order to watch the sunset over the lake when it occurs. Marinov's wearing a knot side wrap skirt in brown leatherette and a structured jacket in a richer walnut wood colour, over a beige top that only barely shows at the collar of their top. They move towards the edge of the water and pause upon seeing Marcus perched on one of the rocks, seeming to consider a moment, eyes falling on the crucifix which seems to convince them to bridge the gap. They stop completely, though, their ears swivelling this way and that when Taylor takes a tumble to try and zero in on the other student. "Hey. You okay there?" Marcus's head lifts, turns, at the sound of scraping rocks. He folds the beads back into his palm, his expression lighting when Marinov nears. "Slippery." His voice is quiet, heavy through his accent. "Hurt?" His brows lift as he looks the Taylors over. Tomas' evening walk had taken him to a new location on the campus, the lake. He had one headphone in the other taking in the various sounds around him. He was dressed in a pair of loose fitting cargo pants, chains dangling from them, over his t-shirt was a black hoodie, hood up covering his head. He didn't notice the other students in the woods or around the lake, nor did he really care to notice them, untill he heard a sound. He turned his attention to the commotion and slowly walked over, waving at Marcus and Marinov and turning his head and looking to where the noise was coming from. Taylor sighed once he regained his balance and kicked a loose rock away from him as he tunred seeing now three other people around him. His heart raced a bit seeing Tomas was one of them at least that eased him already. "Uh, yeah I'm fine. The rocks are ya know... just wet." he chewed on the inside of his lip feeling uncomftrable that all there attention was on him. Something that was new to him usually he loved attention. "Whats everyone doing out at the lake? Its cold." Marinov gestures towards Marcus when he mentions that it is slippery and nods, "You gotta be pretty surefooted out here. I think it's easier with bare feet, but that's got its risks too." They glance back towards Tomas to give him a half salute of greeting and then back to Taylor. "The way to deal with it when it's cold is to just grow a thicker coat. I was just out on a walk in the woods. Sunset's nice out here." "You are also. At lake," Marcus points out, wide mouth twitching slightly up. He looks down at his hands, shoulders hunching slightly, then shoves one closed fist into a pocket. "Rocks sharp." He knocks the toes of his own sneakers together pointedly. "Not good hobbit. Yet." Tomas nods as the other students talk then pulls out his phone and disconnects the headphones letting the cord hang. He flips thru it before he starts typing on it, the phone dictates as he types: " IT IS COLD BUT THAT IS WHY I HAVE A HOODIE ON." Tomas fiddles with his hoodie strings before typing more: "I AM ON MY EVENING WALK, AND I HEARD A NOISE, BUT GLAD YOU ARE OKAY, IF YOU ARE HURT I CAN KISS THE BOO BOO, HA HA" Tomas then let out a chuckle. "Ha ha youre so funny." Taylor says dryly but a small smile still plays on his face. He turned to look at teh sun setting over the lake and nodded. "Yeah sunsets usually always nice out here. He watched the sun set for a moment before directing a question at the kid on the rock. "Enjoying the view as well than?" "I would make a great hobbit. Tough soles, check. Hair feet, check. Always prepared to eat, check. I am just missing a couple extra feet of shortness," says Marinov. They look off towards the horizon a couple of moments. "But yeah, you are also at the lake. What are your motives to be out here? If you're curious about ours, maybe you were getting up to something out here that we're rudely interrupting," is said lightly. "Am interrupting?" Marcus's eyes dart between the other two boys, brows very faintly furrowed before his gaze drops back to the wet rocks at his feet. "Yes. Was... enjoying." His toes scrunch down against the stones, smile stretching wider at Marinov's self description. "I have... the short," he declares cheerfully. "Only that." He plucks at one sleeve of his sweater. "Hair, borrowed." Tomas looks at Marcus then back at Taylor before typing: "I CAN LEAVE IF I AM INTERUPTING, SORRY" he shuffles his feet a bit backing up a step. "No, I dont think anyone is interupting anyone..." he hoped they werent at least. "I was just coming to relax here." taylor addressed Marinov. "The lake has tended to be my happy place away from school." "Hey, don't sell yourself-- Uh, being short seems alright. Too bad we can't combine our talents to be a hobbit, seems like an alright life," says Marinov, closing their eyes as they consider it, a sigh of satisfaction. They snap open again, and they seem to consider quietly a couple of moments before answering Taylor. "I think it's good to have somewhere to escape to. I've had places like that for years, but I'm a vet at hiding away. School can be tough." "Teamwork," Marcus tells Marinov earnestly. "We will be. Fellowship." He pulls his knees to his chest, curling an arm around them. Studying Taylor thoughtfully for a moment, too. "School is..." he hesitates before asking cautiously, "not good?" Tomas chuckles a bit when Marcus says they'd be a fellowship. He then nods at Marinov, and types: "YES THE OUTSIDE IS A GREAT ESCAPE" he takes a step back forward his posture lowering a bit, seeming less nervous now that Taylor has said he wasn't interrupting. Marinov's gaze rests on Taylor for a few moments longer, then they shrug. "I am gonna get back to haunting the forest and leave you to it. But you ever want pointers on how to get by here, look me up." They nod towards Marcus and Tomas, and turn back towards the woods. "Though with the sun down, might be dark. If you want to follow someone with night vision eyeballs..." They gesture up towards their face and start to meander in that direction. Tomas gestures to his own eyes and shakes his head before pointing at Marinov and giving a thumbs up. Tomas then looks at Taylor and makes a "follow me" gesture before he turns to Marinov and follows. "im safe, -static- cat friend" is heard faintly from the phone in his hand as he follows. |
