Description

xxxxxA small nook of a joint in Midtown, Dogtown is decorated with little thought to class or style. Cheerful, with black and white tiled flooring, bright red tables, bright yellow walls, menus plastered on peeling sheets over the counter, the walls are papered in an assortment of photographs -- smiling patrons who hold records for successfully eating six or more hot dogs in one one-hour sitting. The menu here is simple and solid -- hot dogs both beef or vegan with a huge array of toppings, fries, slaw, chili. It's not haute cuisine but the dogs are good enough to draw large crowds, especially late at night.

Notes & Trivia
  • The friendliness or lack thereof of this place is highly changeable, and really depends entirely on which of the staff happens to be on-shift when you go. A lot of the overnight staff are laid-back about mutant customers and during the small hours of the morning it's usually a pretty safe bet to get friendly service; during the daytime hours, though, it's really hit or miss. Some people outright refuse to serve mutants, some people do so only grudgingly, some people are friendly; there doesn't seem to be any overarching policy in place as to how to treat mutant customers so it's basically a crapshoot. It's a crapshoot when it comes to the customers, too -- coming here when it's crowded can be pretty much come-at-your-own-risk with regards to the other clientele moreso than the service.
