A comfortable three-bedroom cabin, sturdily built if inelegant. The front door opens up into a cozy sitting room with small bathroom; it is adjoined by a kitchenette with room for small table. The three bedrooms here -- two off the sitting room, one on the other side of the kitchen -- are not uniform in size nor layout, with the considerably smaller kitchen-adjacent room having its own screened-in porch. A quiet day inside the cabin today, mostly due to the fact that at least two of its residents are not at home. That changes a little before dinner, with the bang of the door against the wall, and then another bang as it is closed. The fire, left to its own, has gone out. Which Pedro is trying to correct. Shivering, he dumps his jacket onto the floor, and rubs at his arms, while the small flame begins to consume the kindling. As the fire creeps higher, larger pieces of wood are fed to it, until a rather decent sized log is placed in the middle. The batty one brings his feet up, and would probably put them into the fire, if it weren't for the burns and pain. Fucking freezing how do people live here stupid stupid stupid, he mutters in Spanish. It takes a few minutes for Anette to appear but she does, working up the courage when Pedro announces his presence via slamming door. Wrapped in a blanket, she really doesn't look any better, though it could be from stress just as easily as the flu itself. "Hola," she murmurs, slowly making her way into the room, raising a brow as she looks over Pedro. Tucked under her arm she has the note book which she pulls in front of her and begins scrawling. <<How are you?>> Pedro's ears swivel around at the sound of her appearance, and he looks over his shoulder when she says hello. Squinting at the notebook a moment, he sighs and walks over to gesture to her pen and pad. Assuming she allows him, he will start writing, his penmanship marred by his shivering. {I'm freezing and slightly violated. But other than that, I'm okay. How're you feeling?} Anette does allow Pedro to take the pen and paper, though she only gets as close to him as she absolutely has to. A small groan escapes as she reads his question, carefully reclaiming her notebook and writing, <<Hungry. What happened?>> She shivers herself and wraps her blanket around herself tighter. Through all this, she avoids eye contact, keeping to herself as much as she physically can. Pedro returns to his jacket, and pulls out several small boxes. He sets these down beside Anette, looking at her curiously. He starts writing again. <<Had to get a full checkup. Don't like doctors. Don't like doctor fingers in my private places. So. Full cure needs a full day or overnight stay. I figure that's too much, yeah? Drugs are given intravenusly. Uhm. These will treat your symptoms. You won't get better. You probably won't get worse.>> Anette glances back and forth between the message and the boxes, taking it all in. She quickly takes back her notebook, hurridly scribbling down her message. {I'd hug you if I could. No full cure, not yet. How do I take these?} Setting the notebook down for Pedro to read, she picks up one of the boxes, carefully examining the outside. Pedro shrugs to her and writes out: {I don't know. They're pills so I guess with water? Eat with meal?} He smiles brightly though. <<You can hug me when you are feeling better. Raincheck is fine.>> The young man sits down on the floor with a thump, and lays back. A hand reaches up and scrawls with the pen. <<If I get sick, maybe you can help me, yeah? Only upside of docter mcgrabbyhands is that I'm not yet sick.>> Anette quicky glances over the instructions on the box, practically tearing open the box and popping the recommended dosage into her mouth. Then she takes the time to slide the notebook to herself and write: <<Did you turn your head and cough?>> At least her humor has recovered. Pedro sits up a little and blinks at her. He reaches for the pen. <<Good news! I don't have a hernia.>> He sticks his tongue out at her. {I didn't know they had thermometers for the backside.} The young man looks unhappy about this. Anette grins and lets out a small chuckle. <<Are you /sure/ that was a real doctor?>> She gives a quick wink as he sticks his tongue out. Pedro hmmphs and crosses his arms. {I am pretty sure she was.}, he writes down. {I think she had had a long day. As I said, I don't like doctors. Pretty sure the feeling is mutual. I think she understood Spanish.} Anette raises a brow as she reads the message, scribbling down her response. {Was she at least cute?} Pedro shrugs. {7. Maybe 8 if she smiled.} He giggles and flops back out on the floor. The young man lays stretched out for a few minutes, before sitting back up. {Is it working?} Anette frowns, pausing a moment as if she's figuring that out for herself. {I don't know.} {Well, you haven't eaten me yet. That's good, si?} Pedro chuckles and glances to her. {Still hungry? Want another cannibal sandwich or two? Or maybe something a little better?} |
