Emergency Appointment
Dramatis Personae

Iolaus, Jackson

In Absentia

2013-12-23

(Immediately after talking Gabriel down.)

Location

Telephone

RING ring! Iolaus's phone is ringing. Probably the phone ring itself doesn't manage to convey /urgent/ but if it did it would be ringing in ALL CAPS.

It rings three times before someone picks up on the other end. "Hello, this is Iolaus." There is a hint of tiredness in his voice, and the strains of Bach in the background fade as the volume is turned down.

"Io -- sir, hi." Jax's thick drawl is easily recognizable, especially given how much time the two spend around each other. He had a shift only that morning, due for another tomorrow as well. There's strain in his voice, the kind of /deliberate/ careful calm that suggests Not Actually Calm At All. "Forgive me for botherin' you, I just got -- kind of an emergency. My neighbor, s'ability's goin' -- all out of wack. In a serious way, he thinks it could be lethal if not dealt with soon. Is there any way you could work in an appointment -- nowabouts? I know it's night, I just. Ain't a lot of people we can call."

There is a pause at the other end of the line before Iolaus coughs, once. When he continues, he sounds a bit more awake. "Of course, Jax. I assume he's not well enough to travel, or can you bring him here? If his powers are irregular, I'd prefer to get him to isolation, but not if he's unsafe to even come."

"Ain't but a mile from here to there. Micah can drive. I think he'll be okay for that long. Thank you so much, Io." There's gratitude heavy in Jax's tone. "We'll be there ASAP." Said like a-sap rather than a-s-a-p.

Iolaus' tone is gentle. "I'm here to help. Tell Micah to drive right into the garage; we'll be waiting for you. See you soon." The other end of the line disconnects.
