{{Tab}}Speed Transfer. Zach is able to transfer speed between objects, though the objects must be within ten yards of each other. This speed exchange however doesn’t seem to have any correlation to an objects mass (which would be momentum), but he can determine how much speed is transferred at least and in what direction that speed is delivered in. For example he could stop an out of control car moving at 60 mph by transferring its speed into a nearby rock and fling it into a building. He can even transfer the speed into himself, cumulatively adding speed from other thefts, allowing himself to travel at superhuman speeds for short periods of time (about a minute per theft of speed). However, he is no sturdier than normal, so impacting with other objects at such high speeds will break bones or kill like any other crash, though he doesn’t seem injured by just going at such high speeds. Nor are his perceptions or mental speeds increased, so at higher speeds he will not be able to react to sudden hazards.Transferring the speed into an immobile object (like the earth, or a building), just leaves a small impact crater where the energy entered and dissipated. He can also transfer speed he’s accumulated, for example if he fell off a building, into other objects just as easily.

As a side effect of his powers, Zach is also able to estimate an object's relative speed and very fast objects draw his attention, like a donut being dragged in front of a fat man.

I feel the need for speed
Introduction

History

xxxxxBorn and raised in Tooele county, Utah, Zach was the son of mechanic and his high school sweet heart. School was boring, and he suffered through it, but he loved more hanging out at his dad’s workshop and seeing the things that came to town from all the travelers. Tooele was there at the Bonneville Salt Flats, the place of land speed records were set. Every other day during the dry season, someone else would pull into town with a trailer and some oddly shaped car or another.

He loved to watch it, but during the wet seasons when the salt flats weren’t usable he spent his free time getting into other messes. He’d seen the X-Games on the television enough, and he would go out and try to recreate the things he saw. Mind you he ended up with broken limbs and all sorts of other pain for the efforts, but that didn’t much stop him. Of course, this all changed one day in his sophomore year of high school. As he was trying a rail slide down a set of stairs, he bailed poorly, landing out in the street, and a car was coming straight at him. Whatever happened, he didn’t quite figure it out, as the car came to a stop and he got shot down the road. Most people who saw it figured he got lucky and rather than getting run over he just got hit back really damn far.

As he was in the hospital recovering from the wicked road rash he got from skidding down the main road at sixty, he kept replaying it over and over in his head. He knew it didn’t hit him, but how the hell did he get flung so damn far. It took him the better part of a year in putzing around and figuring it out for himself, but he could finally manage it consistently. He could just move speed around. It was a damn fine trick if nothing else, and he couldn’t think of anything better than abusing the crap out of it, as he started illegally street racing his other class mates. Course, he would also wreck half the cars, since just because he could get an old junker moving at over a hundred didn’t mean it would have the traction or steering necessary to handle it.

Still, just being around the Salt Flats was boring, he wouldn’t be able to drive one of the things any time soon. He needed to get out and make his fortune somewhere. Maybe get to be a race car driver or anything else. So the minute he hit eighteen, he grabbed his car, said seeya to his folks, and headed east where the money was. Daytona, Indianapolis, hell all the big wigs were in New York. So thus he ended up all the way east, glad of the change of scenery, and interested in seeing what a crazy town like New York would bring him.
