Description

xxxxxThis chic and upscale restaurant serves surprisingly little tea for their name -- though it can be found, on their menu, and quite good quality at that. Elegant and understated, there is an old-world feel to this place. For those who make their dress code (and book reservations enough in advance), the food here is good, hearty Russian fare, although the main attraction here comes not from their extensive food menu but from their extensive bar. Their vodka comes three double-shots to a flight, for those with strong constitutions (and a safe ride home.)

Notes & Trivia

xxxxxIt is rumoured this restaurant belongs to the Russian mob. There are talks of illegal card games in the basement, and rumours are abound that owners might show interest in 'investment', which they will aggressively 'protect'.

xxxxxOfficially, the restaurant services mutants, but they are held to higher standards than humans. They will be thrown out more readily if they misbehave, unlike the human visitors. Mutants who look too inhuman are generally unwelcome, though; they make the other guests uncomfortable.

xxxxxThe restaurant is also famous for its exclusive vodka Самоварная (Samovarnaya), which is a play on words - it means tapped from a samovar, but it also implies it is self-made. It might also explain the restaurant's name, since samovars are normally used for tea. The vodka is of extremely high quality and is praised by many critics.
