Felix Kuznetsov Introduction xxxxxFelix sees everything through the eyes of a mathematician, as numbers and equations. He approaches near obsession when solving problems, especially if they involve math, computers or both. Sometimes he overlooks obvious or unimportant things, due to the fact he tends to mentally distract himself. It is easy to see that he is a kind, caring and understanding individual. Definitely the type of person who prefers to help rather than harm. He dislikes corruption, greed, and having his intellectual contemplation interrupted. History xxxxxFelix was born into a prominent political family in Moscow, Russia. He never had to want or worry about money and childhood was very good. Accelerating at math and computers from a young age, he went to the best private schools before heading off to college. As he got older he began to see just how corrupt business and government could be, especially in Russia. This was not the world that he wished to be a part of. Since his parents had both money and political ties, it was an easy task to convince them that sending him off to college in the United States was a good idea. At age 18, Felix began his studies at Columbia College in New York. This is also when his mutant gene activated and his powers began to manifest. The first few years were a difficult struggle, between learning how to manage these new abilities, and keeping up with his studies. However, he still managed to complete his bachelors degree in computer science on schedule. He continued on with college, completing a masters degree in statistics and a doctorate degree in theoretical mathematics. Felix has been writing computer programs, applications, and artificial intelligence routines for years. While in college he began to use his skills to occasionally hack into known corrupt entities and skim small amounts of money, making anonymous donations to various charities with most of it. He tries not to do this to often, as he is well aware it may eventually draw unwanted attention. Because of this he makes every effort to make it as difficult as possible to track back to him. He could probably make himself very wealthy doing this. However, he prefers not to be the center of attention and tends to keep a very low profile. After all, it is easier to hide the average than it is the extreme. Felix has just completed his studies at college and is looking for a good place to fit in, although he will never work for a corporation or the government. Meanwhile he continues programming, solving math problems, and handing out anonymous donations. Powers Detect Mutant Gene: xxxxxThis power can detect non-dormant mutant genes. It creates a unique “noise pattern” for each mutant within range inside his head. Felix has learned how to isolate this “noise” and keep it from becoming completely overwhelming. Each “pattern” reveals the power level of the mutant, if powers are active or being activated (but not what the power is), and if the power is wild or under control. The base area of affect for this power is ~10m, and can be improved by using Amplify Mutant Gene (see below) or reduced by using Pacify Mutant Gene (see below). xxxxxThis power also creates a telepathic barrier, creating a feedback loop when a telepath attempts to access his mind. Amplify and Pacify will affect the strength of the barrier making it harder or easier to enter his mind. The downside is that both parties receive the feedback loop and could possible become disoriented for a short period of time. Pacify Mutant Gene: xxxxxThis power can reduce the activity level of the Mutant Gene anywhere between normal and dormancy. If Felix goes dormant, he must wait until the duration expires before he can use any of his powers. Additionally, dormant mutant genes are just that, temporarily dormant for the duration. As such the mutant may show up as human on detection results. This is how Felix manages to stay off the radar when he wants to remain hidden from those who can detect mutants. Those under the affects of this power will experience a sleight chill as the effects kick in. Amplify Mutant Gene: xxxxxThis power can enhance the power of the mutant gene for a short period of time. By using this power on himself, Felix can enhance the ability of his detecting powers, increasing the range and accuracy for a short period of time, making it possible to track and or locate non-dormant mutant genes. He is still unsure just how much he can Amplify mutant abilities and he is fearful that pushing the limits may have dire consequences. Restrictions: xxxxxFelix is able to target both of these abilities and control the area of affect with them. If he is within the area of affect he receives the same benefits or handicaps as everybody else. Concentration is not required to use these powers, parameters are set when using the power, which will last for the duration unless he uses the power again to cancel the affects. These two powers may not be used at the same time, doing so will cancel the effects of the previous power (One or the other, but not both). When using the power, increasing one parameter (area, effect, duration) will decrease the other two parameters. Connections Friends None at the moment.
