'They don't like you, we'll introduce them to the Ghost Squad.' (Part of Flu Season TP.)

Location

<XS> Cody, Jack and Sergio's Dorm - FL2

The influx of new students this year has led to a bit of overcrowding at Xavier's, and it is starting to show in the dorm arrangements, many rooms like this one refitted for three students where they had once been built for only two. The standard two closets have been joined by a large armoire against one wall; three dressers have been moved in, three desks. A bunk bed on the left side, a lofted twin with its desk underneath it on the right.

Odd as it might be to some people, the sight of empty floating clothes apparently stretching is a sight people in this particular dorm are most likely used to. In lounge pants and an old gray hoodie, Jack stands up from his desk where he'd been studying his ASL book and practicing some of the signs even if no one could see it since he didn't put on any gloves yet. Reaching back to pull his hood on, Jack checks the time on his phone and frowns invisibly. "{Was doin' that longer than I thought...}" he trails off in Spanish.

Curling into the corner of his bottom bunk, a shirtless Sergio has wrapped his blankets around himself in some sort of makeshift cacoon. Still recovering from the cure medication, and struggling to maintain consciousness while his powers continue to fluctuate, he hasn't been particularly mobile. Though, with less fear of becoming a flesh eating monster, he's been more /awake/ at least. He's on his phone, thumbing through information on bearded dragons which he decided he liked ever since he realized someone else had one in their dormroom. Researching the topic is just about all he did while he was hooked up to the IV yesterday. When Jacks speaks, Sergio peeks up from his phone and smiles a little before looking back down to the screen.

Jack hasn't left the room too much today, staying close incase Sergio needed anything and to make sure no zombies tried to get in. Noticing Sergio's conscious again, Jack offers an unseen smile as well. He pushes a jar of facepaint on his desk aside before pulling on the gloves he'd been using for the day. A little finger stretching and Jack moves to sit on the edge of the bed. 'Cold? Want anything?' he signs his questions.

'Freezing,' Sergio smiles, shivering to make his point but not really drawing the covers any closer, 'Why do people live here?' He's been careful with Jack, feeling rather guilty for having had to leave him on his own. And being unable to communicate. He's kept things light -- only tentatively trying to get things back to normal. 'I'm okay. Do /you/ need anything?'

'Put on a shirt?' Jack asks with a little snicker. Without a face, his signs come off kind of 'monotone' and emotionless as he's been told. 'Too cold to move.' he suggests, trying to joke. He takes a breath when asked that question, looking down at glove covered hands for a moment. When he finallys replies, he does it a little more slowly. 'This to end. Everyone to get better.'

'Never,' Sergio snaps, quickly. He's been taking ASL since he's gotten here and had Liv as a tutor well before usage was mandatory. Too bad ASL is useless when you're a disembodied mind. 'Shut up,' the teen laughs quietly in response to Jack. He doesn't interpret Jack's responses as monotone, then again they've more or less been saturated in eachother's company for quite some time, now. Things are different when your power is literally seeing through someone else's eyes. 'It will,' Sergio inches to the edge of his bed, letting his bare legs hang out over the edge, 'It's got to. I-' Pausing, the teen wets his lips and shifts his eyes some, offering a hesitant smile, '-missed you.'

The snap gets Jack laughing a little, shaking his hooded head. 'Can't. Sorry.' he signs back with an unseen grin. His shoulders slump slightly a moment later though. 'I hope so. Soon.' his signs are slower again. He seems a little surprised by the admission and needs a moment to remember the right signs. 'Miss you too. Still here though.'

'Sorry, you must have been invisible,' Sergio waggles his head on his neck cutely, as if in sing-song. Smiling, he inches back on his bed to lean back against the wall. Stretching his legs out in front of him, he wiggles his toes. 'I guess I won't be going home for Christmas, at least. Get to hang out here with you. Or do you think they'll fix it sooner? No way, right?'

Jack reaches over to give Sergio's shoulder a gentle shove at the sing-songy signing. He copies his roommate, leaning against the wall. Though with Jack, there don't seem to be toes to wiggle...or feet there at all. 'I don't know' he replies honestly. 'Zombies and sickness to deal with.'

'Yes, but the X-Men can fix anything. And they have the cure, so.' Swaying with the nudge, Sergio returns it with a gentle shove of his own -- perhaps a little stronger than Jack's. 'My mom is freaking out. She's making everyone learn ASL so they can facetime me. She was all worried about you, too.' The teen rolls his eyes a little, continually having to look down to his hands to make sure that he's signing the correct thing.

'It will take time.' Jack shrugs as he signs, in the same boat as his roommate when it comes to looking at his hands. There's a pause before Jack starts moving again. 'Wait. She was worried about me?' he signs the question, head tilted to the side.

Sergio shrugs, 'Yeah, of course she was. There are zombies everywhere, dude.' His eyes widen in mock-seriousness as he motions all around them in the room, as if the zombies might be found in the very air they breathe.

At first, Jack just lets out a quiet 'huh'. Then he shrugs and signs again. 'Did not expect that.' he replies a little sheepishly. 'No zombies in here. Been watching for them.'

'Expect what?' Sergio side-eyes Jack, amused, 'Somebody to be worried about you? I was worried, too. Still am.' He waggles his brows and glances around the room, 'If any of the zombies end up with powers like either of ours, we're screwed.'

'Someone outside here.' Jack tries to explain. He laughs a little though, shaking his head. 'Zombie me would need to be naked to be invisible.' he signs, mixing in more finger-spelling. A moment later, Jack shudders. 'Not sick though.'

'Do you think zombie-you would be too shy or something?' Sergio grins. Breathing out a laugh, he shakes his head, 'That's good. This medicine makes you want to vom-' He stops sighing to bring the back of his hand up to his mouth, covering a great sudden yawn. Reaching out, he bumps Jack's shoulder again, 'If they solve the cure before Christmas, maybe I can get my parents to buy you a ticket to Hawaii. They probably feel guilty enough that they might just do it.'

The joke prompts another light little push. He blinks at the yawn and then stretches his neck a little. 'I appreciate it. The airport will probably not like me though.' he signs with a little sigh. 'Tired?' he signs after a moment.

In response, Sergio double-nods as he yawns again. 'Fuck airports,' he signs sloppily, shaking his head. Bringing the covers up over himself a little more, he curls up around one of his pillows -- patting it to fluff it up. 'They don't like you, we'll introduce them to the Ghost Squad.' Stuck in a continuous yawning loop, the teen starts to have trouble keeping his eyes open.

Getting off Sergio's bed, Jack uses his TK to help fluff the pillow. 'Sleep for now' he signs even if Sergio sees it. 'Night'.

Sergio grumbles in response, not attempting any intelligable word. With a small smile on his lips, he swats a hand after Jack as the invisible teen moves off of his bed and stretches out his legs to take up more room.
