Xavier's School is situated on grounds as luxurious as the mansion itself. The tree-lined drive brings you up to the lush green sweep of front lawn and the wide front porch with its bench swing, often frequented by students studying in pleasant weather. The large oak tree in the front yard is home to a tire swing, installed long ago beneath the sturdy old treehouse. The lawn rolls out all the way down to the thin rocky pier at the edge of the glittering lake. The water stretches huge and wide off into the distance, the boathouse a small blip at its shore. Along its bank, forest stretches dense and shady to one side; to the other cliffs start to rise, high and rocky, providing trails for hiking or climbing, for the adventurous. Walkin' back to school? That's for fools! Peter SLINGS back to school -- sweeping up past the edge of the building, clad in a white-sleeve t-shirt (Star Wars Pulp Fiction), blue-jeans, two-toed socks -- and with his old clunky wrist-watches currently absent -- wearing instead his sleek, futuristic, Kisha-built WEBSHOOTER 3.0s. They're much more snazzy looking, less prone to jamming, and can switch settings at the flick of a fingertip -- rather than the slow crank of a nozzle. Peter's feet skims grass as he THWPs the edge of the rooftop, swinging past and around the corner of the building in a slow, lazy quarter circle; when he lands, it's with a steady, buoyant trot. Like, LOOK AT ME, AIN'T I STYLIN'. He's gonna have to rent a tux. Spider tux. To go with this much style. "PETER." While not exactly yelling, this loud, short statement from one over stressed Metamorph is definitely designed to capture the attention, and likely squelch his stylin' swagger - ze is likely sorry, but distracted. Ze slips down from where ze was climbing the walls, literally, while waiting for Peter to return. Ze's coloration is dark and sickly green, hir tail twitching left and right, with a yellow tinge to hir eyes. Ze stalks out of the shadows of the entrance and stomps hir way over to where Peter is. "Is Ivan with you? Why not? Where is he?" Peter is just in the process of starting to hum the refrain of 'Stayin' Alive' when a wild Rasa appears. Peter proceeds to /jump/ -- more at hir coloration than hir sudden presence -- landing a few feet back. "...Ivan? Isn't he with -- he didn't come back to the room last night I just kind of, um, assumed, uh," his metallic blue goes violet, "maybe with... you?" In sunlight, Peter is very /bright/ and shiny; the blushing helps curtail it just a smidge. "--wait, he /wasn't/ with you?" Peter straightens, staring at Rasa. "No. He went to check on Kai and then went to bed, I thought. When I couldn't find either of you, I thought you were together. Ivan isn't answering his phone. I thought maybe subways, but..." Rasa is unhappy, hir tail swishing around on the ground behind hir like a displeased snake. "He is not with you. Peter, this is bad." Hir lips set as ze struggles to stand up straight, glancing over hir shoulder at the exit to the school grounds. "I was in his head last night." "What did you see." This /might/ be a question. It might be a statement. It's hard to tell; suddenly, all of Peter's cheer has vanished -- replaced instead by a crumpling of the brows and a /tenseness/ in his jaw. "We'll get Jax. Logan. Twins, maybe. Track him down. He might," Peter pauses, before adding, maybe with a flash of less tenseness: "I heard he'd sleep out by the bees. While I was gone." "He did that. He did not tonight. Peter." FOCUS Peter. Rasa is trying to have a narrative, but keeps getting distracted. Ze rubs hir hands together, before rubbingat hir bare upperarms, dressed in a boring blue tee shirt and jeans, hir feet bare. "You know how he gets distracted when he has too many bees?" "Yes. Bugs kind of eat his brain," Peter says, /frowning/ now, peering at Rasa's arms as ze rubs them. "Do you think -- could it be -- bugs?" Peter looks back up to Rasa, now, eyebrows /scrunching/ tightly together. Into a tense, little knot. "Was that what you saw in his brain?" Then: "I. We. Fought giant bugs. Giant ants. In New Jersey." Peter relates this as if, you know. NEW JERSEY. "...that couldn't be -- I mean that was /New Jersey/." "Ivan didn't know what it was. I asked him to look and see what it was and all he got was more distracted. He told me he didn't know and not to worry." Rasa is failing to follow Ivan's advice. Ze grows a little bit more green when Peter talks of fighting giant bugs in New Jersey. "All it did was take information from Ivan's mind. It did not tell him things like the bugs do. I am worried. We should tell someone." "Jackson," Peter says, a hand darting out to grasp Rasa's. Followed by: "And Shane. And Sebastian. They can track down his smell. We'll find him," he adds, a bit more firmly, but apprehension clear in the /tenseness/ of his grip, the clench of his jaw. There is chaos in Rasa's mind: the impressions ze got from Ivan when ze was in his mind, the black void of thought that was dragging his thoughts away from hir; a strong NEED to get him back, tapping into something primal in the back of hir mind, something dark and terrible and greedy and need, welling up into two yellow orbs thrust deep in a black green chasm; the people ze needs to talk to appearing in rapid fashion, the frustration about how if ze handles this poorly, ze will get locked in the school again. Then the focus switches from the chaos in Rasa's mind to searching out Peter's mind for ways to find Ivan, turning to drag him inside by his grip while hir body is slowly covered in hir form of chitin, bearing the same green coloration ze had before. "Yes. Jackson." |
