xxxxxThe (slightly) older brother of Lucien Tessier and the eldest of the five Tessier siblings, Matt has spent his life looking after folks and is not all that comfortable that life has forced him into the being-looked-after-role himself.

xxxxxA few inches under six feet tall, Matt stands average height filled out by distinctly below-average frame, a lanky collection of sparsely-fleshed bones. His vivid green eyes are the most distinctive feature in a face otherwise pale and prone to chapped skin. On his good days, his most common descriptor is boyish. On his bad ones, well. Cancer patient.

xxxxxGregarious and warm, Matt makes friends easily and actually cares about them. Having had a rather rough life himself he feels strongly about helping people out of the same, and is especially prone to concern when it comes to mutants and homeless kids.

xxxxxMatt's powers only work on other mutants. He has the ability to manipulate the expression of the X-Gene, whether to suppress its expression entirely or in parts, or augment it to heighten its expression. Effectively he can turn off other mutant's powers in a small localized range around himself, or fine-tune them to allow greater power and control. His ability with this used to be a lot better tuned, due to long years of keeping his brother in check, but deteriorating health makes prolonged or nuanced use overly taxing.
