"Ignore her."

Location

<XS> Classroom One

Desks arranged into neat rows make up this, a fairly typical classroom. Chalkboard in front, teacher's desk in front of that. Windows along one wall look out on the grounds, providing plenty of opportunity for distraction for daydreaming students.

Though most of the class is has arrived, the Professor hasn't and there's still a few minutes left before class starts. With no supervision, only a handful of students are in their desks. Most are scattered around the room, talking and laughing with their friends. Liv has dumped her bag by her desk but is leaning up against the back wall with two other girls in her class, the three of them talking in hushed whispers and giggles. Liv is incredibly colorful today, a red skirt and white blouse and her wrists covered in silver bangles that jingle when she moves in arms. Her hair, pulled up is even beginning to brighten again, though it's more of a mossy green than it's usual vibrant color. Still, it's no longer brown. And she's smiling.

Behind Sergio's feminine facade, only brief glimpses of the former teen shine through. Unfortunately, Psionic Self-Defense class surely isn't the environment in which the body snatcher is likely to come out of his shell. He's become accustomed to sitting towards the back of the class and rarely speaking up or clowning around like he used to.

Dressed as he normally would in jeans, a baseball tee, and a hoody, Sergio makes his way down the center aisle of desks with a masculine gait. The three girls at the back wall catch his attention and at Liv's smile, a small glimmer of a smile sprouts up in Sergio's eyes. Fearing the scrutiny of the green haired girl's backup, he finds himself shyly looking back away as he takes his seat. He pretends to rifle through his disorganized bookbag. This new form has come with all manner of challenges he hadn't ever expected, not the least of which being the cattiness from other girls.

Liv happens to catch a glance of Sergio entering and her smile falls briefly. Only briefly though and she quickly resumes her conversation. Sergio's presence doesn't go unnoticed by the other girls and while the blonde merely scowls and ignores him, the brunette suddenly smirks and follows Sergio as he sits down with her eyes. "I can't believe they'd let him back here. Or her. Whatever," she says in a stage whisper to her friends, knowing full well that Sergio can hear her. "I mean, if he was going to kidnap a body, least he could do is kidnap a male one. That's just disgusting." Liv's friends begin snickering amongst themselves. Liv awkwardly stands in the middle and though she doesn't join in her friend's amusement, she doesn't really respond in either way. Reputation is a delicate thing. It's not until the discussion turns to something else that Liv casually slips away, slipping into the desk beside Sergio. "I'm...sorry about Christa. Ignore her," she whispers softly.

Sucking in his cheeks, Sergio flips open and stares down into the chicken-scratch notes he's taken for the class. Whether or not he comprehends them is unclear. His skin is pale now, so being red faced is much less easy to conceal. "You mean like you just did?" He asks darkly, wetting his fat lips.

Closing his notebook, Sergio slips it under his arm and rises from his seat. He slips the strap of his book bag quietly over his shoulder and pauses before he stands, frowning over at Liv with a hurt expression, "I like your hair." He moves back up the aisle from which he'd come.

The only seat available is front and center, but he'd rather sit there.

Liv tenses at Sergio's words, her face suddenly pained as if she had been stung. "Look, you've been a boy your whole life...things are different as a girl," she tries to apologize, though she fades off when Sergio relocates. Suddenly, she hears snickering and turns to see her friends, grinning wildly once Sergio walks away. Now she glares, rising back up and following Sergio to the front of the room, kneeling down on the floor beside his desk as she looks to him. "Please, I'm sorry. You know I...care about you."

Just flipping open his notebook again, Sergio is surprised to see her at his side. He shoots a worried glance back behind them towards Christa before looking back down at Liv. "What are you doing?" He asks hurriedly. His eyes have the familiar sheen of someone on the brink of tears. "Yeah," the teen blinks and seems to lower his hackles, "I know."

Liv glances back towards Christa, who has now begun to shoot Liv dirty looks as she talks with the other girl. "Don't worry about it. Never liked her anyway," she says, before turning her back to the two, looking to Serg again. "So, um...how has this class been going for you?" A quick attempt at casual conversation.

The painfully awkward attempt causes Sergio to close his eyes tightly and look away. He brings a balled-up hand to his mouth and lets out a little chirp that might be the sound of crying ...if it wasn't accompanied by the tiniest of smirks once the hand is removed. "It's, uh. ...going," is all he manages, pressing his lips inward in amusement.

Liv grins a little too, glancing towards the door as if expecting the Professor to roll in any second. "Yeah, same here. I can't focus my mind, it just wants to go all over the place," she says, a faint glimmer of amusement in her voice. "Maybe we could study together, again. Like we did last semester for sign language class?" This is said a bit more timidly but she continues to try and act casual.

"Okay," Sergio answers in a slightly higher octave. He brings up a hand to tuck his long yellow hair back behind an ear, "That'd be nice." Practically holding his breath, he just blinks.

The grin spills out before she contain it but Liv quickly suppresses it into a more reasonable smile. "Ok, cool. I'll um, yeah. We'll talk about it later, I guess," she says, rising to her feet, her hand resting on Sergio's shoulder without thinking as she pulls herself up. "I should probably get back to my seat."

Sergio smiles back, offering a few little successive nods. The contact is natural and honestly, Sergio hardly notices it himself. As Liv returns to the back of the class, he turns to watch her go. When his eyes catch Christa’s, the body snatcher motions up and down his own body loosely with a finger and mouths out, ‘Yours is next,’ before quickly facing the chalkboard once more.
