<WES> Croton Gorge Park - Westchester

Situated on the east bank of the Hudson, this large park offers events year-round and a plethora of activities for nature lovers. With playgrounds, facilities for camping and swimming, boating and fishing, plentiful trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, cliffs for rock climbing, grounds for winter sports, and ample ground to just sit and enjoy the weather, these park grounds are a great place to relax year-round. The grounds are well-tended, and with a host of avian and herpitological life, early mornings often find animal lovers scoping out the grounds in search of a glimpse of some rare bird or lizard hiding in the trees or rocks as well.

There is still daylight left, but it's getting on in the evening. Marinov is wearing a Kosovotka shirt in red, with gold and black patterning in a stripe off-center to the left side, with similar patterning around the trim and the silk belt, and a pair of relatively simple loose fitting white pants. They seem to be taking a lot of photos of themselves on their camera phone, occasionally posting them up to social media. "I figure we could probably climb something here. I mean, I know it might not look it, but I made this outfit to be sorta durable, I wouldn't mind seeing how it performs if I'm actually moving."

"Well there are actually climbing walls around here somewhere I think, but I assume you're more looking for a nice tree to climb." Nic is wearing a blue and white track suit the jacket in varying shades of blue with white sleeves, and the pants solid dark blue with two white stripes down the side of each leg. "Either way, yes I'm sure we can find something to climb. You seem pretty proud of that outfit, and I get why, it looks great."

"Whoa, no, I actually meant one of these cliffs! I mean, a tree is fine," says Marinov, putting their hands on their hips indignantly. "I do parkour stuff, you know! Where you, like, run around and climb and jump and all that good shit... Why did you think I wanted a tree?" They huff softly and tap their foot a couple of times. "But yeah, this outfit does look great. My dad sometimes says, 'you should embrace your heritage!' Well, here you go, an homage to the old country."

"Well I was expecting more a run jump climb kind of thing, yeah like parkour. I'm pretty sure we need some kind of gear if we're going to actually do rock climbing... can we rent that stuff here?" The teen shrugs his shoulders "I haven't really done the parkour thing myself, usually I just do some running to cool down from my workout, and I figured you wanted a tree because that's what I've most often seen you climbing, and we don't have climbing stuff."

"Well, I wasn't planning on renting anything," says Marinov, looking thoughtful. "I figured you'd just climb rocks. But I guess, like, you have your whole gymnastics career to consider so you can't be risking a broken ankle or whatever." They sigh and shake their head, "You haven't done any parkour, though? I bet that'd be a great workout. But also a little dangerous. That's why it's fun."

"From what I've seen the climbing cliffs are pretty tall, not that I'm not confident in my climbing, but I'd rather not slip to an untimely end." The boy stretches his arms out above his head "Parkour sounds cool though, and I bet it will be a great workout. A little danger is good, gymnastics itself has at least a little danger, but falling off a cliff seems to me like it could be a lot worse than a simple broken ankle."

"Yeah, I mean, probably worse than a broken ankle," decides Marinov absently. "You want to learn how to parkour? I guess for a proper sorta thing, you gotta go somewhere a little more urban than this. You know, 'cause of all the buildings and structures that you can use." They turn back in the direction from which they came. "I bet the whole gymnastics thing'll translate well! Could be fun! Though too late in the day to head to the city proper. Unless you want to do it in the dark of night! More of an adventure like that."

Nic rubs the back of his neck and shakes his head "Uhhh yeah, no I think doing it in the dark is just asking for some kind of accident. So I guess another time for the parkour, and we'll start out somewhere a little more urban so I can get the full Marinov parkour experience." He grins towards his friend "I'm learning gymnastics translates well into quite a few different things. I started up Capoeira a few months ago, and the Mestre said he was impressed by my quick progress, which is mostly because I had the basic foundation, and upper body strength built up already."

"Yeah... I've done some, like, swing dance stuff, but it's not very intensive. I work out a lot, though, like... running or swimming or just keeping active. I have a lot of energy to burn off and if I don't burn it off, then I'm like, wired and I can't concentrate," says Marinov, narrowing their eyes slightly in thought. "Capoeira, huh? I imagine fitness'd help, yea." They tilt their head thoughtfully, "The Marinov parkour experience is often in the dark. I'm good at seeing in low light, though, most other people don't have that benefit."

"Hey swing dancing sounds like fun, and it doesn't have to be super intensive... I dunno if Dakota would be down for that kind of thing though." rubbing the stubble on his chin Nicodemus seems to be considering whether or not his girlfriend would join him for a dance class, then looks back to Marinov and smiles "Yeah Capoeira, it's like dancing and self defense together... started with Brazilian slaves they weren't allowed to practice any sort of martial art or anything that might give an edge over the slavers, so they disguised martial arts as dancing." Nic looks up at the light starting to dim and shakes his head "Well alright we'll start the Marinov parkour experience on easy mode then. My eyes aren't so good in the dark and I don't think jumping right in to lowlight urban acrobatics is the best plan. We'll totally get together for some Parkour though, school's out for me in a couple days, I should have plenty of spare time."
