"Just to warm up."

Location

<NYC> Inwood

Tabitha is wandering aimlessly at this point, rubbing her arms together to keep herself warm during the chilly autumn night. It's unclear what time it is, but, she assumes she's been wandering for an hour. The blue tips of her fingers are a clear indication of this.

"Tabitha?" Sylvia's brow furrows in concern as she turns the block.

Tabitha cocks her head up at the familiar voice, eyes going wide. Quickly, she pivots her heel, walking the other direction with a hurried pace.

"Tabitha, wait!" The other calls out, wings fluttering as she rushes after Tabitha. Tabitha glances behind her, and at the sight of the pursuit, increases her pace into a sprint. "Tabby, please--" Sylvia pants out, "just-- stop!"

Tabitha, of course, ignores this and continues to run, taking a sharp turn into an alleyway to cut between the blocks. Sylvia groans softly as her wings flutter quickly, lifting her off the ground as she takes the same path, following above Tabitha before cutting her off, landing directly in front of her. Tabitha collides with Sylvia but her stance is firm, causing Tabitha to fall backwards. "Please, stop running!"

"Fuck you." She grits out, standing up. "I told you to leave me the fuck alone, and y-you go -- go behind my back and try to get my FRIENDS against me? What the FUCK is wrong with you, man?"

Sylvia purses her lips, holding her hand out to Tabitha. "I knew you'd have the reaction you just had now." A pause. "Are you cold?"

Icy blue eyes scan the taller woman up, down, then up, before accepting the hand. "Doesn't matter." She brushes off the bottom of her shorts.

Sylvia stares at Tabitha with a mix of relief, pain, and sadness. "I... I'm sorry, about what I said. Before. I was just worried."

"Ahuh. So worried." She repeats sarcastically, swiftly taking her hand back. "Did you really come here? Just for me?"

"Of course I did. I didn't want to leave things the way they did. And I wanted to make sure you were okay out here. I know you're not the best of friends with people."

Tabitha is quiet, looking everywhere but Sylvia. "Thanks, but, I'm doing just fine." Her tone is softer.

"I can see that. You've made a lot of friends." Sylvia smiles. "You're going to get frostbite if you stay out here any longer. Come back with me, at least to warm up."

Tabitha opens her mouth swiftly, but stops herself, taking a more careful consideration of her words. "... fine. Just to warm up, alright?" She picks up her head, giving Sylvia a stern look.

"Just to warm up." Sylvia echoes with a nod.
