Description
|
xxxxx5'10, Asian - American, with shoulder-length dark brown hair that has a slight wave to it and is usually tied back messily. Unnatural lilac eyes (formerly brown), a complexion that's on the paler side, and a slim, swimmer's build. One notable physical characteristic is the lone freckle above his right eyebrow. Usually seen in some form of baggy flannel or corduroy shirt and straight-cut jeans, his dress sense is casual and laid-back with hints of a stereotypical skater boy, even if he isn't one. His right ear is pierced at the cartilage with a simple barbell and a standard lobe piercing, which is normally home to some kind of dangly silver earring.

Reputation
|
xxxxxTroublemaker isn't quite the word that fits Luca best. Stubborn and defensive non-conformist, however, now they're far more accurate. He has a little bit of a reputation amongst the streets of Brooklyn, but not in the impressive, impeding way you might be picturing. No, Luca is known for just being a nuisance who doesn't know when to quit. With no real grander reputation than this, he is pretty unknown to the public outside of his neighbourhood. Unless of course, you count the racket that his moped makes in the streets of New York.

History
|
xxxxxRaised by a single mother with four other siblings in a small apartment in Brooklyn wasn’t exactly an incredible start to life. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but if anyone reading this was there, it would explain the standoffish nature Luca so proudly donned as a teenager and continued into his young adult life. Luca never met his father, but was told he was some Italian sleaze-ball without much aspiration, other than the goal of running away from his kid. This was a common theme, unfortunately for his mother, who’s five children all have different fathers. Luca is the second youngest of his siblings, with a relatively large age gap between the older three and himself, and again between he and his younger sister.
xxxxxLuca discovered his abilities around the age of fourteen - a little later than most mutants - and managed pretty well to hide it from his family and friends. Up until the day he was arrested. It was a textbook ‘wrong place, wrong time’ (or so Luca thought) that resulted in a fight between Luca and a riled up stranger over something so small as bumping into the latter. The younger man was assaulted by the stranger, and in a moment of self-defence, the act seemed to trigger his powers explosively; sending his assailant into a nearby shop window and causing a ton of damage to both the store and the man. To the security footage and apparently the various witnesses, accompanied by an increasing record of minor offenses to his name, it looked very much like Luca was the one to blame; assaulting the stranger with his mutant abilities unnecessarily. Which, unfortunately, was enough for grounds for arrest.
xxxxxIt was in a holding cell that Luca was confronted with another option than going through the legal system and potentially going to jail: Prometheus. They had seen his abilities and promised to help him control them in a series of studies that he could partake in instead of seeing out his inevitable (albeit unjust) sentence. Without much real choice in the matter, Luca accepted. It was within Prometheus’ labs themselves that he realised how much of a mistake this was, as they pushed the limits of his abilities just too far every day, leaving the young man exhausted and disoriented for however long he was in there for. They told him that they were trying to figure out a way to harness the young man’s power to create a renewable and cleaner energy source, but Luca had his suspicions that this wasn’t all entirely true. Just as these suspicions began to arise, however, he and a bunch of other lab rats were broken out of Prometheus by another group of mutants, with whom he now resides.

Skills
|
xxxxxFree-running and climbing. While some may see this as a hobby, Luca worked and practiced these skills in and around Brooklyn as a teenager, running from rooftop to rooftop as a form of escapism that eventually turned into a valuable and impressive skill. He also owns and can drive a Moped that he inherited from one of his older brothers. It's not fast by any means, and is noisy as all hell, but gets him from A to B.
