xxxxxNot a lot is known about Daniel, and he tends to keep quiet about his past, both recent and distant. He's been known to mention that he's from upstate New York, and that he's still got family up there, but otherwise, seems reticent to talk about it. He's much more interested in the present, and in making a life for himself in the Big City. Around for two or three years now, he's worked a string of low-paying jobs and lived in a string of low-rent apartments, but he doesn't seem to let that keep him down for very long.

xxxxxWater Elemental - Daniel is, in effect, a water elemental. He can shift his body from a normal human state to completely liquid and normal-seeming water, or any point in between, including shifting only his limbs or parts of his body rather than his entire form. In liquid form, he remains mobile and can shift, stretch, and change his shape as desired. His overall mass and volume remains the same, so in his fully shifted form he is equivalent to a full-grown man's worth of liquid water.
xxxxxWater Control - By shifting part of himself into water, and then touching the water he wants to control, Daniel can exert control over the water, in effect turning it into part of his body that he can then move as desired. He has only ever been able to control at maximum about his own body weight in additional water, anything more than that is hard for him to handle. Also he cannot control water or liquids at a distance, he must touch them. His control extends to anything that could reasonably be called 'water', it does not have to be pure or even drinkable, but it does have to be water and not some other liquid that is mostly water. Dirty gutter water? OK. Kerosene? Not OK.
xxxxxNatural Water Form - Due to the events at the dam, Daniel's powers have shifted so that his liquid water form is actually his natural form, and it requires effort and a base level of concentration for him to maintain his human form. When he stops concentrating, he reverts to his 'puddle' form. This has serious disadvantages when he is, for example, knocked unconscious, or when he sleeps at night, as it makes him difficult to hide his true nature from anyone he spends more than a day with, considering he needs to sleep in a bucket. He still requires rest, an average of 8 hours a night, or else he becomes unable to assume solid form. What it means that he is more puddle than man, is something he tries not to think about too much.
xxxxxThalassophobia - Fear of the Ocean. Due to the nature of his powers and what happened to him in the past, Daniel is terrified of large bodies of water. Pools and rivers fill him with dread, lakes make him shudder, but the ocean? The mere sight of it causes him to shiver, and he would panic violently if dragged into it or thrown into it. The terror comes from a psychological fear of losing himself and his personality, of becoming diluted entirely in such massive amounts of water and never being able to reform himself.
