Tiny things
Introduction

xxxxxBrainy, nerdy. Talk science to me oh yeah.

History

xxxxxGrowing up in the middle of scientists and hippies will definitely give you a screwy world view, and Keith definitely soaked up the vibe of the city of his birth. His father worked for the DOE research wing at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and his mother was an aquaponics advocate for the local collective. To say the least, conversations around the dinner table were interesting, and he was encouraged to pursue anything that his mind decided to put his efforts towards.

xxxxxHe took after his father more than his mother though, and rather enjoyed pursuing scientific interests ranging from archeology (what young boy Doesn't love dinosaurs after all), to rocket science, microbiology, and finally settling on computers. Mind you, computers weren't exactly a true love of the mind, but no field would progress in the upcoming years without access to and computational power to push it along to their natural extremes. It was a practicality that was somewhat odd for one so young, but he did tend to be serious about the future. Part of this was due to a secret he had been keeping from his parents for years.

xxxxxAs a young boy, studying the various and sundry insects that a young boy is wont to play with, he started to notice he could see them far better without his glasses than with them on. Of course his face was right up nearby them, but he just kept seeing them closer and closer as if there was no end to the ability to see up close. Of course this natural curiousity ended up being the trigger to his greater talent, as when he wanted to see exactly how the legs connected to the grasshopper's body, it pulled away all on its own. Floating insect legs are odd enough, but when he blinked away from it and noticed it dropped when he startled, he guessed it was his doing.

xxxxxHe experimented with his skills as he grew older, enjoying his little secret, occassionally using it to cause problems for those who caused him problems, but little more severe than pranks. Mainy it was just something useful and fun to toy with while he focused on more practical matters, like getting good grades and trying to get scholarships to prestigious universities.

xxxxxSchool was school, boring in some parts, interesting in others. He was smart at least, and aside from loathing the soft subjects that would "round out" his education, he enjoyed the mental puzzles presented by the course work. Internships, work study programs, and all the rest of the tasks one does outside of school in university helped him to pad a resume with experience to go along with his grades to help him get a job in the industry at least.

xxxxxStark Industries was high on his list though, meaning he would have to move all the way to the east coast and give up lovely California weather (and earthquakes, and mudslides, and forest fires, and air pollution) for crappy New York weather. All the major technological advances were happening in New York between Oscorp and Stark so he would put up with it to be on the bleeding edge. At least there would be good public transportation there, and it couldn't possibly be as dangerous as the media portrays it to be.

Skills

Masters in Computer Engineering - Knowledgeable about software, hardware components and various electronic matters.

Nerdery - Video games, rpgs, and various applications of cards and dice are in his repetoir

Research - Great at tracking down data, either via net or tomes

Spatial Problem Solving - Puzzles do not necessarily require only two dimensions to solve, and he's adept at knowing where precisely in space something ought to shift to to match the needs.

Powers

xxxxxMicroscopic Senses

Some mutants can see for miles, others can hear such that they can navigate the world through echolocation. This mutant however detects the small details instead. Microcracks and fissures in solid seeming surfaces, chemicals dissolved in liquids, and the tiny spaces between pixels are all obvious to him. However, to be able to do so he must concentrate, and the macroscopic world is imperceptible in the meanwhile, being unable to sense anything but the tiniest of details till he zooms back out. His sense of touch is able to extend through his microkinesis (see below) to be able to feel things far too small to notice with skin contact, allowing him to feel what he might not necessarily be able to see due to something being in the way.

xxxxxMicrokinetic

While the powers of many telekinetics work on wide scale macroeffects, the capabilities of this mutant allow changes to be made that others could not even see. Separating out the components of explosives to make them inert, causing weak spots in metals that would be considered indestructible otherwise. He can do the opposite as well, binding objects at the molecular level to prevent them from being separated, or depositing metallics on a silicon wafer. The largest changes he can effect are only about an inch square of material at a time, but the smallest are at the molecular level. If the actions he would take cannot be perceived with normal human vision, his senses must be zoomed into the scale he works at with the pursuant problems. His telekinesis is limited by range and size though, as an object the size of a set of keys could be reached across a room, but an object the size of an atom requires him to be practically touching it. The amount of effort it takes is inverse to the size scale he works at though, so performing a large amount of microchanges will leave him with a headache from the strain.

Note: He cannot cause Fusion or Fission to occur with his powers.
