"I find you very intimidating."

Location

<XAV> Lake - Xs Grounds

Bright, bright, bright; the lake glitters wide and expansive here, stretching off into the distance. Sunlight, moonlight, starlight, it catches them all. Lapping at the rocky shore, its deep waters are frigid in winter and cool even in summer. A stone pier stretches out a ways into the water, wide and smooth, though often icy in winter.

The water teems with life nevertheless, home to myriad species of fish that provide for ample fishing or just lazy watching on a slow summer day, for those who want to take a boat from the boathouse out to the center of the lake, or perhaps lounge on the pier and try their luck.

It's a glorious day, bright and sunny and really warm for the first time this season, the first day that many around campus have broken out the shorts and not looked ridiculously inadequately dressed for it. Perched on the edge of the pier, Gaétan isn't in shorts -- pale blue jeans and a lightweight short-sleeved grey button down -- but in deference to the weather he has removed shoes and socks, bare feet dangling into the water. He's got a notebook open beside him and his bass guitar in hand. The low haunting melody he plucks and his clear strong voice have been audible from a short distance away but his singing stops now with a clap of hand to strings and a sharp frown. "-- I ride with you in the current, now we're pulled into --" is sung half under his breath now and punctuated by, "--câlice, no, {that's cheesy as hell}." The French muttered, not sung, as he scratches something out in his notebook.

Strangely enough, due to the warm weather, Remi had also decided to take himself down to the lake today. He did however follow suit, dressed in a tank top and a skirt coming just above his knees. He carried with him his violin and a foldable chair, thinking he'd find a nice secluded place by the lake and play for a little while as he hadn't touched it since he got to Xavier's. Upon arriving at the lake he could hear the strum of what he thought was a bass, but he couldn't hear it clear enough to be sure. He kept walking towards the lakeside until he saw a familiar figure. It was Gaétan. He thought about turning back for a moment but decided he didn't want to seem rude. So he bit his lip and walked straight towards Gaétan, a determined grimace on his face.

As Remi comes into his peripheral vision, Gaétan turns -- the extremely flat and unimpressed expression on his face suggests that perhaps, in fact, turning back would have been the preferable of the options. He lies his guitar down across his lap, one arm curled protectively over it as he twists around to better face the other boy. He does not offer a greeting. Just a questioning hitch of one eyebrow.

Gaétan's facial expressions were terrifying and Remi was dreading this with every fibre of his body. As he got closer to Gaétan, probably about 4 or 5 paces away, he bowed his head as low as he could, a sign of respect, and spoke loudly and clearly. "I know you are still probably extremely upset with me. I know I was a total bitch and I just wanted to say that you were right about everything and i'm sorry I acted like that." it felt like there was a lump forming in his throat so he cleared it for a moment. "Everything you said was completely right and i was trying too hard to make people happy and going about it wrong. I also reacted in completely the wrong way, being confused and upset at my situation and taking it out on others. I've been thinking about it a lot and i'm very sorry again Gaetan!" he stayed there, breathily slightly heavily from the nerves, his hair covering his face as he stared at the floor and his own shoes.

It's clear that this was not the interaction Gaétan was expecting. His other eyebrow joins the first, though now the expression is far less skeptical, more curious. He keeps steady hold of his guitar -- can't be too careful at the edge of the pier! -- as he turns more properly, pulling one knee up on the stone. "Huh," is what he says first, when Remi is done talking. There's some small level of approval in the thoughtful bob of his head. "... you apologize to Spence?"

Still with his head lowered, he shook it and sighed. "I've tried to, but I've only seen him like, disappearing around a corner or walking past and he seemed pretty busy. I was trying to give him space at first but then I thought maybe he was poofin' back into our room when i was sleeping. I thought about leaving a note but It feels like something I should do in person." he was clutching his violin case with shaky hands. Something about Gaétan he found very intimidating

"Aight." Gaétan accepts this with a nod as well. "Cool. Well. Thanks." His fingers drum lightly against the body of the acoustic bass, his eyes tracking down to Remi's grip on the violin. His observation, "... your hands are shaking." comes out very mild.

Standing up Remi smiled awkardly. "I find you very intimidating, you have a very...strong persona. And I was very nervous to apologise to you because of how out of order I was.." he tried his best to steady his hands, succeeding slightly as he held the violin case in one hand. "I see you play the bass. I hope I didn't ruin your time. I normally prefer to play alone so I'd understand if you'd prefer me to go to the other side of the lake,"

Gaétan huffs, quiet and amused. "Figured maybe the reputation of my terrifying powers had preceded me." He's kind of sliding back into his previous sitting position, foot returning to the water with a quiet splash. "I play a lot of things, but I love the bass." There's just a small hint of smile as he adds: "-- and I love jamming. With my friends." He flicks a small glance back up at Remi. "Maybe one day, yeah?"

The corners of Remi's mouth pick up in a smile as he stares at Gaétan in slight disbelief, nodding in agreement. "Yeh! That would be great one day, really!" Remi thought this would be a great place to leave their conversation and made his way to the other side of the lake before taking out his violin and playing a happy ditty.
