Rahne and Ross meet. Sort of.

Location

<XS> Rec Room - FL2

School this may be, but life for Xavier's students certainly isn't all studying. Outside classes, this is a popular spot to find students in their downtime. An enormous tribute to slacking off, this room is a wealth of fun and relaxation.

Comfortable armchairs, couches, and beanbags offer plentiful seating scattered throughout the room, and the cushioned windowseats by the high windows offer a cozy nook to curl up and look out on the grounds.

The room is often filled with the noises of gaming -- whether it comes from the big-screen television (tall racks of DVDs beside it, if nothing can be found on the multitude of cable channels), tricked out with consoles from retro to the latest releases, or the less electronic clatter and thump of the pool table, air hockey, or foosball. For those a little more subdued in their gaming, the cabinets hold stacks and stacks of board and card games, ranging as classic as chess and go to as esoteric as Dixit, Catan, and Gloom.

It is late enough in the evening, on a Friday no less, that Rahne actually has the Rec Room to herself. It is probably around curfew time but then when does she ever really completely truly adhere to that because nocturnal instincts or something. Anyway, the wee redheaded Scot sits curled up on the couch in front of the television, dressed in pajama pants patterned with little cartoon wolves and a long-sleeved shirt and she is absolutely enraptured by what is on the screen.

Still kind of newish to the whole movie-watching thing--it wasn't allowed when she was a kid and then it wasn't exactly a big thing on Muir Island after that--she is missing popcorn. But that's okay. Because she's watching Brave for the first time, and maybe feeling a homesick about it while also feeling especially daring because there's a witch and magic involved. Ha, take that, Reverend Craig. The movie is about halfway through by this point, so there are bears on the screen.

Sadly, the movie is interrupted, atleast by anyone who can hear it, by a large crash. Ross stumbles in, with a crutch and most likely on oxycodone by the fact that she can barely keep her eyes open, and smashes straight into the dvd cabinet. She falls, luckily onto a couch, atleast for her. Tonight her hair has a blue highlight in it, working well with the brown. Ross looks around, noticing Rahne, the attractive Scottish red-head. She perks her eyes up for a second, before going back into half-conciousness.

Rahne's delightful immersion into Pixar's reimagining of her home country in days gone by is shattered by the crash. She blinks and sinks further into the couch cushions, even as her gaze darts from the TV and to the entering Ross. An eep of a squeak escapes the wee Scot when the other girl crashes into the DVD cabinet, and quick as you please at the inhuman level, she is up and over the couch to... hide behind it. SO BRAVE.

When the proverbial dust settles, though, she then peeks over the back of the couch. "Erm... ya all right there..?" she tries.

Ross turns her head towards the sound, the pain killers already wearing off, having been taken several hours ago. "Uhuhh...I'm..fi..n". She quickly begins trailing off, and staring at the wall, as she slowly becomes sober. She then vomits onto the carpet, her breath smelling like alcohol. As she takes her head up, her nose is bleeding, which actually has nothing to do with drugs and is mainly a part of her mutation. She looks back at the wall, becoming sober quicker and quicker every second.

Besides her nose wrinkling in reflex at the smell, Rahne otherwise doesn't move for a long moment there, simply staring. Because good Lord, wow. "Erm, yer unwell," she comments, apparently playing the role of Captain Obvious tonight.

"Maybe I ought ta go'n find one o' the teachars..." she suggests weakly after, though she doesn't quite creep off yet to do so. Her whole posture, as she still hides there behind the couch, peeking over it, just reeks of being unsure of what to do with all this.

Ross raises her head up, the pain killers wearing off slightly but not all the way. Her eyes see Rahne, and she stares contently. "Y-you're pretty....". She quickly vomits again, and begins crying out of no where. She falls to the floor, passing out, and also breaking her hand as it falls to the ground slightly hard. Her body curls over as she passes out, but she's likely to wake up again soon because she's laying directly in vomit.

The wee Scot blinks at that particular comment, and really, under other circumstances, she most likely would have turned a shade of red over it. But it's a total non sequitur in what is already an utterly strange and surreal scene for her.

Rahne looks horrified there for a moment, and then really, this is all too much for her. "I'mgonnago'nfindateachar," she rapids out, even as she backpedals a few steps, nearly trips over herself, and then bolts from the Rec Room. To do just that. Hopefully there's an adult somewhere nearby that can handle this, though if she can't find anyone within a couple of minutes, she'll probably hit her panic button to summon one.
