The right side opens up to a modern kitchen with cherry wood cabinets and steel countertops forming a corner against the close and right walls. This cooking area is fitted with modern appliances, among them being an over-the-counter microwave, a dishwasher, an electric stove, a refrigerator, and an oven. Opposite the kitchen is the dining room, accessed by a pair of narrow French doors. Walls of frosted glass panes, framed by stained wood and a diagonal slat slanting downwards towards the doors, separate the area from the rest of the unit. Long, vertical wooden boards stained dark comprise the rest of the walls in the unit.

A small hallways leads from the entrance towards the back with a closet on the left and a bathroom on the right. Although the rest of the unit has beautiful hardwood flooring, the bathroom floor is tiled. It has the usual porcelain fixtures - a sink, a bathtub, a toilet - but also contains a separate shower stall made of steel and glass. On the left of the hallway is a closet containing a decent amount of storage space along with a washing machine and dryer.

The hallway ends as it began, opening up into the same layout as the entrance, though flipped. To the right is the bedroom, concealed by the same frosted glass walls as the dining room with a single door of the same fashion as the walls. The left side holds a living room. Curtained windows along the back wall allow light to stream into the area.

It's late in the afternoon, and Heather has just awoken from one of her sleeps. The dark circles around her eyes have lightened slightly, though they still make their presence known. She runs her fingers through her hair quickly to make sure that none of it is standing up in strange directions, though certainly does little good in tidying it. She's wearing fluorescent orange leggings and a faded pink Hello Kitty sweater. It's much too big for her, but most of her clothes are. "I bought this at the thrift store," she states without greeting, pausing her recording to gesture at the shirt when she comes across Paige, "I like this character. But she does not show up often at the thrift store. Shame."

As she stands in front of the bathroom sink, paying careful attention to not look in the mirror, Paige lets out a surprised, "Mmmf?" at Heather's sudden arrival. She eyes the other girl with furrowed brows, looking a little confused before she continues brushing her teeth, finishing up a few moments later. "Did you -just- wake up?" she asks as she glances her friend up and down, ears flicking in curiousity. "That's 'Hello Kitty'. I'm pretty sure she's the main character in a children's television show. I don't know if you'd be able to find many things in your size with her on it," the goat girl offers helpfully while dabbing at her face with a towel. "And we -really- need to talk about your color combinations sometime."

Knock knock knock! The rapping on the door is firm and quick. Outside Teamhaus's front door, Flicker looks -- kind of drab. Khakis, short-sleeved green-edged grey polo, neatly combed hair, messenger bag resting on his hip. His claw-tipped arm, though still segmented and tentacley, /is/ stylized today to look somewhat organic -- after a fashion. It's been painted up (with, for anyone with an eye for these things, some high attention to detail) to resemble the musculature of the arm, red and exposed.

"I love colours. My favourite one is royal purple but orange," Heather pauses and gestures towards her leggings, "Is in my top three. Anyways. Children's clothes fit me fine right now. I will keep an eye out." She peers over and across where Paige is to check if she left her goggles somewhere in the washroom, which gives the impression that she is hovering over Paige and being snoopy. At the sounds from the door, she raises an index finger towards Paige and shuffles off towards the door, scooping up the goggles that she left next to her charging phone on the way. She opens the door right as the knocking ends and puts the tinted goggles on after it is already open. After a moment of fiddling with the recorder, Heather turns up the volume so that Paige can hear and plays, "Hello Flicker. Would you like to come in? I like your arm art."

"I don't think that's quite a color," Paige objects, looking confused as Heather comes fairly close to invading her personal space. "Is there something I can hel--" The horned mutant's ears flick up at the sound of knocking and she seems ready to ask her roommate a question when she finds that she's already on her way out of the bathroom. She lets out a sigh and heads towards the entrance of the unit, ears perking at Heather's recording.

"{Hello -- thanks.}" These are in Spanish, accompanied by a small nod. Quick smile. Flicker blips in past Heather, landing a short distance inside the apartment. His eyes are darting -- restless, quick, a rapid sweep around the place. "Paige." Another nod of greeting. "You all settling in okay? I hope I'm not interrupting anything just dropping by. I can come back a better time if you're busy."

Heather closes the door behind Flicker and turns around to look at Flicker. "I think that we have been settling okay. You are not interrupting anything. I just woke up." She picks up her phone from the floor and checks the charge on it, giving a satisfied nod before moving it to the counterspace. "Unless I was interrupting Paige in the middle of something. Do you want anything to drink? We have water." She raises her eyebrows in inquiry to Paige, hoping that she will expand on whether there are other beverages available for their guest.

Paige pauses mid-step, ears twitching as she blinks at Flicker who is now between her and Heather. There's a brief moment of hesitation before she nods to the young man and smiles. "Hey, Flicker. You're not interrupting anything and we absolutely love it here." There's a small cringe in her expression as she catches Haether's look. "Yeah, sorry, I think we, uh, only have water and coffee at the moment. But how are you doing? What brings you here?"

"Water is just fine. {Thank you.}" Flicker's claw rests lightly on his messenger bag. His eyes dart between the two young women. "I just wanted to check in, really. Moving can be." Small shrug. "Chaotic. Stressful. Annoying. Plus you're in a new place and sometimes don't have much and that's uncomfortable in the -- literal sense. I'd be glad to lend a hand if there's anything I can do to make things more homey."

Heather zips to the counter to prepare the water for Flicker. "Oh. Yes. Sitting on the floor is uncomfortable sometimes. Mai said we could take her furniture. We just need to figure out how to clear the transportation obstacle. As neither one of us drives." The glass is offered to Flicker, moving carefully to keep the water in the cup despite her quick motions. The recording continues to play from where she left it on the counter. "Moving our own things was simple enough at least."

While Heather engages their guest, Paige heads towards the sink to get herself a glass of water. "That's because I don't -have- anything," she adds to the other girl's statement with a hint of amusement. "And the problem is more that I can't really drive with -hooves-, you know? Besides, we don't have a vehicle. There's a couch --" This is said as Paige turns around from filling her glass while her eyes wander to the discarded recorder. "--chairs, a table, a bed, a bookshelf and some other small pieces of furniture." The furred mutant gestures idly with her free hand as she speaks. "There are also some very important personal effects that belong to Mai. We're trying to figure out a way to get all of it here if we can."

'Thank you.' Signed, this time. Flicker takes the cup in his hand. Gulps down a long swallow. "I /can/ drive, but I don't have a car. Could rent a truck, I guess. Some of those things sound big. Can you get into her -- uh, I mean. Isn't she in jail? Do you have a key?" His brows pull together for a moment. "If there's furniture you need -- or want. I could help with that, too. I've made a lot of things. I know sometimes it can be better having things built. Not all furniture is always the most comfortable if it wasn't built with -- hooves or wings or tails in mind so I've had some practice."

Heather nods deliberately and then plays, "I need to turn some more paypal money into real money so we can rent a truck." She hops up onto the counter to sit and plays, "All furniture suits me equally well. Some restaurants have seats designed to make you uncomfortable though. I will have none of that." There's a pause from the recorder, and the young woman plays with it for a bit as she considers something, "I think that Paige might have Mai's key. And a note! So that it will not look very suspicious when we show up to take her things."

"I still have a key," Paige confirms, looking a little uneasy. "I don't really want to go back there, to be, uh, honest, though. It's not that it's a bad place or anything. It's just uncomfortable, you know?" She gives a slight shrug of the shoulders, as she looks askance and her ears wilt slightly. Biting her lip for a moment, she then returns her attention to the Flicker. "I haven't really thought about anything like that, you know? I'm not even sure what would -need- to be different. I mean, all I've got are the hooves and horns and ears - though sometimes those last two make finding a comfortable sleeping position a little difficult. Otherwise, I think I'm okay?" A few seconds pass as the furred mutant appears to be thinking. "Maybe handrails or something? I kind of still have some issues with balance."

"A note? For her -- landlord? From someone being held for murder?" Flicker sounds hesitant about this. A little cautious. "I guess if they accept it," he agrees uncertainly. "I don't know if 'not suspicious' is how I'd. Describe. That." His teeth gnaw briefly at the insides of his cheeks. "But if going back would be hard maybe we can -- find people around here. To help pick things up." The tip of his tongue pokes into his cheek; he drifts further into the apartment, scrutinizing the walls thoughtfully. "Sure, if you want things put up I can do that. And even if you don't need anything complicated sometimes it can be nice. Just having something of your -- own, you know?" Shrug. He gives Heather a quick grin. "Only designed for comfort. Promise."

"Well, designed for comfort sounds nice," plays Heather, recorded voice sounding sincere as she kicks her feet out from her position on the counter, "You are right though. I have been a bit worried about being perceived as shady. But to be honest I do not know the standard protocol in that kind of situation. It is not a familiar one to me." She hops down, pushing off the counter to slide forward in her plush socks to help in examining the walls. "I think I could pick up some of Mai's things to bring them down if you want to stay back, Paige. I do not want you to be uncomfortable." She nods deliberately and firmly. "But I would need help."

Taking a large sip of water, Paige places her glass on the counter behind her and starts following Flicker and Heather further into the unit. "Yeah," she replies with a small hitch in her voice. "I don't really know. She seemed to think it would work," the goat girl offers. "But I think she also thought she could get away with -killing- someone so, uh, I'm not really sure, to be honest." To her roommate, she gives a nod and informs her quietly, "It would be much appreciated. I could help bring things here as long as I don't have to, you know, go inside? And if you want anything custom-built, I think that's mainly up to you being the rent-payer and all, but I'm not opposed to the idea. I mean, like, she has one bookshelf, but would you need another? I think you mentioned how you wanted a desk or something, too, right?"

"I feel like with as many friends as I have who've gone to jail, I'd know the right procedure for this by now but --" Flicker shrugs. He glances briefly back a Paige during her musing on Mai -- his head dips slightly. Lips faintly compressed. His eyes turn shortly back to the wall. "I'll see who we can rustle up." He turns aside from the wall. Sips from his glass -- his claw-hand turns up. Spreads to indicate both the others. "What do you /both/ want? You're both living here, right?"

"Yes, we are both living here," plays Heather, nodding and looking back towards Paige, "From the list that I had made, what is most important to you? I think having a table and chairs would be important. A good place to sit and talk. For when we are so inclined." She shrugs her shoulders a couple of times and says in badly pronounced Spanish, "{Thank you} for your offer of help."

"The couch," admits Paige sheepishly. "Standing and even sitting sometimes can get tiring. Sometimes I just need to lie down, but not like on a bed, you know?" The horned mutant gives a shrug of her own. "But I also know that you should get a desk - you're always working on your computer and ergonomics are kind of important from what I, uh, understand. "But absolutely a table and chairs," she continues with a nod. "A place to sit and eat would be absolutely -wonderful. And, of course, the hand rails, if possible?"

"Desk, table and chairs, hand rails, couch." Flicker finishes his water -- a quick few jumps carries him over to the kitchen to deposit the empty glass in the sink. "I'll get on it. Let me know if anything else'd be helpful." He starts back toward the door, pausing nearby it. "Maybe I'll see you all later on for dinner? Inès is cooking. I'm sure it'll be good."

"I don't experience excessive wear and tear from poor posture. Any more than anyone else my age-from-your-perspective I expect." Heather reviews her recording and then tilts her head just slightly as she looks down at it. "Yes. I think that you will likely see us there for dinner." At this, an encouraging nod is offered towards Paige and then Heather finishes, "{Thank you} again, Flicker, for paying us a visit."

There's a momentary flash of confusion that passes over Paige's face as her ears twitch at Heather's words. It seems, however, that she quickly picks up on the meaning of the last thing the other girl said. "Oh! Yes! Thank you so much, Flicker," she agrees, turning around to face the teleporter at his current location. "And we would certainly love to attend dinner. We'll be sure to let you know how things turn out with Mai's apartment and whether anything needs to change with our requests. Thank you so much."
