<XS> Girls' Hall - FL2

The girl's dormitory is more densely lined with doors than the main thoroughfare, nearly all of which sport some kind of bulletin or dry-erase board, or some manner of poster. This hallway is slightly neater than its counterpart across the way, the door-hangings packed full of scribbled notes and responses, a slew of conversations traversing both sides of the corridor.

The girls dorm is not exactly bustling with activity tonight, given the fact that it is the break before fall term and most students have high tailed it back to loved ones or are off on suitably safe summer adventures. There are still a few people filling the halls with noise, their doors perched open to attract attention or to simply fill the silences with busyness beyond. Rasa is sitting in hir doorway, down on the ground, reading over an email on hir tablet, a small frown pulling at hir lips. Ze's dressed in a simple tank top and shorts, both off white and probably pajamas. Hir hair is damp and green, as if ze just washed it, where hir skin is a light blue that seems to be washing out to gray in places. Hir tail is limp and curled over one thigh, across hir lap and down the other thigh, resting on the ground. Ze gnaws on hir lip for a little while, staring off into space, then exhales. The tablet is turned to one side and ze turns on Angry Birds.

Mya is meanwhile practicing all new elements of realism (all new for her). Her avatar is made of smoke, and technically not really her body... but it serves the purpose well enough. Right now, this is... ceiling-crawling? She is on the ceiling, anyway, and sort of appears to be crawling along it. When she looks down to see a person with a tablet and Angry Birds on it, she drops to the ground (slowly, as her body doesn't tend to plummet anywhere unless she actively wills it),"Oh my God! Is that Angry Birds! Oh, wow... that is so cool! Man, I got really good at that before things got tough. I didn't even need the eagle to get past any of the levels. How far are you?" Instant interest.

"OH. Well, not far yet." Rasa admits, flashing the screen at Mya so she can get a better look. "I started on Angry Birds Star Wars though, thought I'd go back to the original once I got done with that one. I... might be a bit tedious though. I try to pass each zone without looking up cheats or using special items." Ze frowns at the screen and runs hir fingers through hir hair to loosen up some of the damp ropes. "How's it going up there?"

Mya nods emphatically as she looks over the screen,"IIII... like your style. I used to get obsessive about that stuff too, though it was mostly just to make it last as long as possible. I haven't played anything but the original. I wanted to unlock everything slowly, you know? Wasn't a lot of money to go around, either, and the games were cheap." Her eyes glow bright yellow with pleasure,"As well as ever. Not as much radiation or smog at night. No sun, and the smog settles as the evening wears on, which makes it more annoying to nom on, you know?"

"Oh. Well, I got the tablet for my birthday from another student and I found some free versions of the games. I didn't know they cost money. I thought they were just overrun with obnoxious ads." Rasa gives a shrug as ze sets down the tablet and tilts hir head to look upward at Mya and the ceiling. "Especially on the second floor." There are subtle changes in hir hands and feet that eventually grow into slightly more noticeable ones. Hir hands gain a fingernail type scale while hir toes and fingers squish together until there are only two toes and three fingers. Then, ze turns and starts climbing up the wall sniffing a little as ze goes. "Hmmm. Is there anything up here you can eat? Or maybe you prefer the bathrooms in the morning when they are full of hairspray?"

Speaking of bathrooms - Karolina was coming out of one right now. And it was perhaps evident that she had spent most of the afternoon in the pool judging by her still dampish hair, and her more 'casual' demeanor than normal. An old t-shirt with a hole in one sleeve - not that the color or design could really be made out admist the menagerie of colors that painted her clothes and body both - a pair of sweatpants, and sandals on her feet, with her hair wrapped up in a towel atop her head.

Stepping out of the restroom - she comes to a sudden halt, casting her eyes up towards Rasa halfway up the wall, glancing also to see... "Mya!" she enthuses. But then there was a long pause, as she glances between both women. "Um. What are you guys doing up there?"

Mya actually giggles,"Yeah. They're pretty cheap though. Paying will eliminate those ads and usually gives you access to new content." She watches the changes with curiosity... but with bizarre facial morphology, it might also be hard to read. At the second question, however, her eyes color a soft pink shade and she floats down further so she can look up at the ceiling,"Actually, yeah. That's a good time for it, but I feel weird just lurking in the bathroom without needing to wash or anything. Makes it look like I'm perving or something." She spins around then, to wave her long-fingered hand over at Karolina,"Just talking? What about you?"

"Also, inspecting for smog." Rasa admits, turning in a circle, until hir feet are planted on the ceiling and hir hands brace behind hir on the wall. "But, apparently, there isn't much this time of night." Ze gives a shrug and looks to Mya. "Well, people are going to think what they want, but I figure if you find a spot that isn't directly over the toilets or shower stalls, you'll be okay." Hir tail flicks quietly, hir head slowly turning a darker shade of blue. "So, what are you doing down there?"

"I was just cleaning up, uhm, before bed a bit," she says, Karolina's features twisting into a smile. She pauses a moment, and then releases a sigh - ducking low - kinda tensing up a bit, before she /jumps/ up into the air, and at the apex of her jump, when she starts to fall back down again - she kicks her legs as if swimming in the air, and slowly kinda... starts to float instead, likewise floating up towards the ceiling where the other two were. She was watching Mya with a bit of interest, "Have you made any changes to your... well... avatar recently?" she asks, glancing from her to Rasa, "Well, I'd hope there isn't much indoors - although you may have more luck near the boys' dorms," she says, grinning.

Mya actually laughs all over again, eyes going to a soft purple glow,"Well, I'm also practicing, from time to time, making it look like my avatar interacts normally with things around it. It has about enough strength to flick a lightswitch or open a door right now. So this is also exercise after a fashion. It's all in the details... I'm having to learn how bodies interact with their surroundings in an intellectual manner. My power didn't come with built in directions on how to make it look real, ya know?" She begins to rotate in a lazy manner,"I've snagged a meal or two there, once or twice, but the 'eating farts jokes' get to be too much. Boys are kinda gross a lot. Um... I haven't... I'm sort of at a loss... I'm thinking I may do gloves yet. I wanna shorten the arms a little, but I keep getting the proportions all wrong. I'm hoping there's a teacher that'll teach life drawing."

"Mr. Holland teaches life drawing. And Mr. Suresh, I think. Both will likely help you with figure modeling yourself, if you ask. Of course, Ja-- Mr. Holland can also help you with projection, as he does some of that stuff himself." Rasa's blue starts to spread, growing with it a fine fur that lines hir body, the same shade as Kurt's. Hir hands, however, stay a bit scaly. Ze starts drawing hirself into more of a ball, giving hir a little more stability on the wall. "I can't rememeber, Karolina, have you had any classes yet? Are you signed up for art next term?" There's a thoughtful pause, and then the question is directed at Mya. "What classes are you taking?"

"We have lots of artsy teachers - I know Jax teaches painting - maybe he does that life drawing stuff as well?" asks Karolina, kinda turning her eyes from Mya to Rasa, a little smile dancing on her lips. Bringing up her hand, she kinda gestures towards Rasa, "Or shi knows the score," says 'lina, with a widening grin. "I have had a couple classes - I took it easy, as I came in, I guess, in the middle of the semester, but I'm looking to take a full load this next, uh, season," she says. The uh's and other little breaks in her words came remarkably when changes in Rasa's form became more apparent. 'lina was marveling a bit at her. "Are you taking art at all, Rasa?" she asks. But Karolina turns her eyes back towards Mya, "That's right, um. You eat pollution. I wonder how hard it would be to set up like a bad chemical reaction in the chemistry lab or something..."

Mya rolls her shoulders a little bit,"The core classes, plus dance and some art. I packed my schedule as much as they'd let me. I still gotta sleep, though, you know? It's kind of weird. One moment I'm tired, the next... ZONK. I think it's a side effect of not having organs... I dunno... Oh, by the way, Rasa... I never did ask... This is sort of embarassing... but I have no idea what your pronouns are... Do you mind if I ask?" She seems pleased enough though, if the light humming sound coming from her belly is any indication. She rotates to look over at Karolina,"She does that change so smoothly. She's a natural I wish I had her talent... Anyway, yeah I could do that... pretty easily, but it'd be dangerous for the other students, you know?"

"I'm sure we don't actually need to blow something up for a decent meal..." Rasa begins, hir gaze shifting toward Mya, pausing, thoughtful. "Do you? I mean we can, if you need it." Ze blinks when ze is questioned, a pleased look in hir eyes - which vanishes just as soon as Mya starts talking about hir to Karolina. "Ah. I prefer neutral ones. 'Ze.' 'Hir.'" Ze draws in another breath and starts moving down the wall once more. "I took art in the spring term. I haven't actually settled on my fall term schedule yet, but I have a few carry-overs that will probably take up most of the time. May get into art again. Dunno. Been big on physical training lately."

"Perhaps with just a little more practice, you could!" says Karolina to Mya, glancing to her. A beat, then, her head bumping against the ceiling, her tongue sticking out a bit with that impact. Bringing up a hand to kinda hold herself against the ceiling, she gives her head a bit of a shake, before sighing. "Well, maybe they could like... make a little room, a little like the one you have now. A dining room or something? Although it's probably cooler to eat with everyone else," she says, glancing down to Rasa as the other starts to scuttle down the wall. "Do you do sports, and things like that? Which sports, if I may?" she asks.

Mya floats down to the ground at this point and holds her hands out parallel to each other, causing smoke to begin to billow and build in a drifting ball between them,"I... the more awful the pollution you create, and the more detrimental the energy... the more nourishing it tends to feel. I was next to a car wreck once and it tasted like... gourmet-level. But it was also really creepy." As for pronounces,"Seems simple enough. Anything else I need to know?" She looks down between her hands, though, concentrating,"I like to sit in the caff, even though I don't eat with the others... makes me feel normal. I get enough special accomodations, though. Anyway, I'll keep practicing. Right now, I just want to look like something... not so alien. What about you, Kar? You got a UV light for night snacking?"

"Not sports. Fighting. Free running. Danger Room stuff," Rasa replies, feet touching down on the ground. "I... should really get some work done. Got a couple emails I need to answer and a letter to write - hand write. Might have to do it a couple times because my hand writing isn't so good." Swirls begin to appear near the edge of hir hair line, stretching across hir cheeks, as if words are surfacing, but they are obscured by the way hir fur lays. "You guys have a good night. I'm sure I'll see you around."

"Like superhero stuff," says Karolina to Rasa, as shi touches the growl. "You as well, it's always good to see you," says Karolina - but her eyes track down towards Mya. Biting her lower lip, she kinda spins about, until her head was pointed towards the ground, 'kicking' off the ceiling as she starts to drift towards the floor - but somewhere in the process, the towel on her head loosens, and with a squeak from the Californian, it falls to the floor, her soggy hair falling free. "Bleah," she says most verbosely, twisting around as she nears the floor to land on her feet, nearish her towel. "No, no. I can last the night, at least for now. I'm kinda worried that my glowing all night bothers my roommates - I have two new ones, by the way," she says. "They're pretty amazing people!"

Mya raises her eyebrows (or the skin where they should be really),"Wow. Two new ones? Isn't that cramming them in tight?" She bends to pick up the towel as she watches Rasa go, letting her smokeball hover on its own for a moment,"Well, don't stay up too long, okay?" Words print themselves across her own face,"Goodbye Rasa!" Then the words are gone, and she even giggles,"She taught me how to make words. Well... sort of. I learned it by watching her. IS... Fighting's a sport these days, isn't it?" She holds up the towel carefully, using both hands to hold it,"Aaagh. I'm so jealous. You get to look interesting AND pretty. I look like close encounters of the third kind or some b-grade horror flick most of the time. I can't wait until I'm better at this... what should I make this time? I need more accessories."

Karolina watches Mya play with her towel, bringing up a hand herself to brush wet locks of rainbow hair out of her eyes, breathing out a heady sigh, tilting her head to one side. "Lookit you!" she enthuses, "You /are/ getting better at all that smoke stuff," she says. A beat, and she brushes a few more strands out of her features, kinda tucking them behind her ears. "Yeah, I guess," says Karolina, her tone a bit soft. "I don't think... well... I'm... happy to have become like this," says Karolina. "It is pretty, I guess, but I think there's other kinds of beauty that are just as important, if not moreso," says she, stumbling over her words a little bit, biting her lower lip as she glances away. "I guess what I am trying to say is.. um.. thank you, Mya," she says then, breathing out a bit of a breath. "What about earrings? I think earrings can be really important - they draw people's attention to your eyes and face, and they are fun?"
