Kisha, Ross

In Absentia

2013-07-15

Ross and Kisha meet and awkward times are had by all.

Location

<XS> Computer Lab

The computer lab, compared to the rest of the mansion, is much more modern, whereas the mansion has quite a rustic feel to it. Rows of the most recent innovations in computers fill this room, along with several seating areas for those with tablets or laptops, providing all with lightning fast internet connection. In the corner, slumped in a chair, is a beautiful brunette. The most defining feature of her would most likely be the shade of purple that covers all of her skin, followed by a slight point to her ears which is still forming, and brown eyes which are in the process of evolving into another color. Ross is currently looking up something possibly illegal on a laptop that most likely does not belong to her nor which the owner knows is missing. She wears a long jacket, even in this heat, with her strange skin color being mainly covered up by the jacket and a pair of gloves and long jeans.

Ahhhh there's nothing like the smell of electronics in the morning (or any time of day for that matter). Which is why Kisha is hitting the computer rooms. That and the aircon in here is much better than in her dorm room. Dressed in a black t-shirt and pants combo she is more striking than beautiful, thanks in no small part to the horrific burn scars which cover each of her arms from the wrist upwards. "You'll get yourself banned trying that sort of thing on the school network," she remarks as she passes the new girl. "They monitor everything. It's why I run all my searches through a non-school smartphone that is running a tor client."

Ross is startled by the appearance of Kisha. She thought she was invisible in this little corner she had, but apparently, she wasn't. She quickly looks up to roll her eyes at Kisha. "I have no idea what that means, but it sounds boring." She quickly begins smacking the keys, and closes the window, giving up on her escapades. "Damn, and here I was hoping they may have overlooked the Pirate Bay." She looks up at Kisha, looking her up and down for a minute. "I'm Ross. And you, Miss Geek?", she says, quick to harass Kisha due mostly to her mood, partially to her personality. She quickly notices the burns. "What'd you do, start a fight with freakazoid white hair girl, she set you on fire?". Ross quickly smirks as she finishes this sentence, looking Kisha in the eyes.

Kisha tilts her head and stares back. "Well I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to consider the difference between something sounding boring and being boring when you get caught," she replies dryly, plugging a little usb stick into a machine before putting on a hat. For a little variety a fedora rather than a deerstalker. "I have no idea who you are talking about. Also I am unsure what motivation I might have to introduce myself when you appear to lack even the rudimentary people skills I possess."

Ross processes everything she says. She thinks for a second, before beginning to speak, in an albeit sarcastic manner. "I apologize, I did not realize I was speaking to someone of a much higher class than myself! How can I remove this shame that I have brought to my family?". She begins laughing to herself for a moment after being a complete weirdo like usual, before turning back to the laptop, to notice that it has now been banned from the school's router. Better be keeping things PG-13 from now on, Ross. She begins slamming on the keys, and pleading to the laptop, hoping that whoever blocked her is listening or something. She quickly looks towards Kisha, a bit embarassed, and shys her head into the jacket's hood, still pleading to the computer gods.

Kisha smiles, an expression she clearly does not use often. "The American class system usually refers to wealth rather than breeding. In neither sense have I claimed to be your better," she points out with the same factual indifference. While she speaks the mouse cursor begins to move, seemingly without her touching anything. "I would however suspect I'm much smarter than you and more aware of my own failings. In short I maybe an unlikable bitch, but I know it and take steps to mitigate the problem when required."

While Ross certainly does not like how Kisha is speaking to her and would gladly punch her in the face if she wasn't afraid that she could possibly eat her, she does realize that Kisha is possibly, POSSIBLY more intelligent than her, while still a very very /very/ tiny possibility. She thinks for a moment, before looking up to Kisha. "Um...could you fix this?". She smiles as she holds up the laptop, trying her best to show that she concedes in this petty argument. Inside, Ross is still loathing and thinking of ways she can dispose of Kisha's body. Perhaps feeding her to the sharks would work.

"Do you have a non-school phone on you?" Kisha asks idly. "Because nothing is technically broken with it. You have simply fallen foul of the IT security beast below. Rumour has it the school SYS-Op is a former student who has never left the sub-basement levels and feeds upon the dismay of students who can no longer download films off the internet." Her own machine now has text appearing on the screen despite the fact she has not touch a single key. "I do however warn you that if you try run torrents through your phone the data charges will be vast. So you might be better off buying legal copies of things. It generally works out cheaper."

Ross scoffs at Kisha. Like she pays for her own phone bill with her own money, or, well...anything. "I have a few non-school phones. One of them is mine.". She smiles sarcastically, having never had any problem with mentioning her past "illegal" activities, actually enjoying letting it slip in conversation. "But I've been unable to get access to non-school connections, so I haven't really had much use for it lately. Would you happen to know how I could get it connected? Nothing works as long as I'm on campus." She pulls up her sleeves, picking at her wrists, which have ridges of small bumps around them, tapping her foot on the edge of the chair all the while.

Kisha rolls her eyes. "You are missing one very important element of your request," she explains with wryly. "Motivation. You see currently my only motivation to 'help' would be in setting up a solution which keylogs your browsing so I can get into all your accounts. Which I won't do because there are far too many telepaths here and that sort of behavior would result in swift punishment."

Ross thinks for a few seconds. "Money. Everyone likes money. How much would it cost?". She quickly begins going over in her head how much money she still has stored in hidden accounts, which is probably very little but enough, and how much was seized due to identity theft claims. "Also, I don't think you'd want to see my browser history, if I was you." She smirks, continuing to count in her head, slowly. "It's not pretty."

"For a set-up that lets you privately browse the internet even on school grounds?" Kisha makes a show of counting on her fingers. "Two bitcoins paid up front would cover it. They're as good as money, better in some regards. My time is increasingly valuble now that my rivals are getting additional schooling from Tony Stark."

Ross is quite stumped when she says two bitcoins, but, they don't sound like much. "I have no idea what those are, but I'll do it. Show me how to pay or whatever, and it's yours. Also, Tony Stark...". She thinks in her head, having somehow forgotten the name of the most influential playboy billionaire. "He's that uh, billionaire guy, right? Big technology or something? I met a rich guy once. Good times". She begins reminiscing of the illegal encounter that ended up leading to her arrival here, and flinches once she remembers the outcome. "Nevermind, not good times, NOT GOOD TIMES.".

Kisha blinks a few times, then shrugs. "Yes. Billionaire playboy genius," she confirms. "Peter and Bastian both work for him. Or rather his company. I would ask why there were not good times, but I suspect this would be prying unduly." Also she doesn't really care. But shhhhh! "Just fire up a desktop machine and search for bitcoins, they're not search blocked so you can use a standard school computer."

Ross looks up in curiosity when she mentions Peter. She then swivels her butt off the chair, sliding over to a desktop. Using her body as a shield, she begins to access what is left of her funds. Once she learns the exchange rate between U.S dollars and bitcoins, she realizes how much Kisha charges, but it's really nothing to her. She accesses one of her few remaining credit cards and buys the bitcoins. She then turns to Kisha. "Okay, and how do I transfer these to you? And don't try and con me, I'm the one who cons people.". She smiles sarcastically, but with a hint that she's really serious. You can never really tell with her.

Kisha lists off the steps to transfer the coins into her 'receiving' account. Which is nice and anonymous. "If you leave your computer and a suitable non-school smartphone at my dorm room I will get it back to you before the weekend," she assures. "And if I was going to con you I'd do it after I've graduated or been expelled. No point doing anything illegal and getting caught by a mindreading teacher. Cons always struck me as lacking in elegance although my brother was fond of them. I always thought they expose you to far too much personal risk."

Ross rolls her eyes at her description of a con, as she transfers the funds over. Kisha was a bit arrogant in Ross's opinion, which is quite hilarious, but Ross still realized that Kisha rendered good services. Perhaps she could use her to her advantage in the future. Once the payment had been transferred, Ross was a bit exhausted. She said goodbye, and left. Maybe once Kisha had finished her services she could...finally relax.
