<XS> Rec Room - FL2 | |
School this may be, but life for Xavier's students certainly isn't all studying. Outside classes, this is a popular spot to find students in their downtime. An enormous tribute to slacking off, this room is a wealth of fun and relaxation. Comfortable armchairs, couches, and beanbags offer plentiful seating scattered throughout the room, and the cushioned windowseats by the high windows offer a cozy nook to curl up and look out on the grounds. The room is often filled with the noises of gaming -- whether it comes from the big-screen television (tall racks of DVDs beside it, if nothing can be found on the multitude of cable channels), tricked out with consoles from retro to the latest releases, or the less electronic clatter and thump of the pool table, air hockey, or foosball. For those a little more subdued in their gaming, the cabinets hold stacks and stacks of board and card games, ranging as classic as chess and go to as esoteric as Dixit, Catan, and Gloom. Peter is -- here! In the rec room! To play /videogames/! For what might be the first time in a while (he's been zipping back and forth from school and work with pretty much no downtime). The boy is currently clad in a blue buttoned up shirt -- sleeves rolled up to his elbows! -- and black jean shorts, his chitin-clad calves exposed. He's got on his silly two-toed socks -- and his weird WRIST-THWIPPY things. At the moment, Peter is doing everything he can to savagely disrupt the UNENDING TORRENT OF RECORDS that have been set in his absence from Mario Kart Wii. He is -- running about! In his little put-put 'Bullet', driven by Dry Bones (a skeletal turtle) and trying to savagely smash down the current record for the 'Haunted House' stage (complete with boos and ghosts!). Tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth, glasses cocked at an unusual angle. Rasa enters with a sandwich in one hand and a large glass of milk in the other. Ze wanders around the large room, quietly, examining things to do before realizing that the person who is currently zip, zip, zipping through the levels of MarioKart is someone ze knows! Well, most of the students are people Rasa knows, but this one has not been seen for a while. AMAZING. Ze turns toward the TV, mouth stuffed full of sandwich and settle on the arm of the couch, watching to see what Peter is doing. Ze is dressed in a pair of spaghetti strap tank tops, layered blue and green, with a sarong wrapped around hir waist in purple and blue. Hir skin is a toasty pinkish color, with swirls of blues, almost as if ze is currently thinking about cool winds. Hir tail remains, for the most part, tucked in the layers of hir wrap, but swishes into view from time to time. "Hellloooo Peter." Ze smiles as ze leans toward him, once hir mouth is cleared. "How's tricks?" Wait for it...wait for it...Nope. No thud this time, Ross did not destroy everything in the room again. As she enters through the doors wearing a mini skirt, not too low, and a short sleeved shirt. Her skin is, well, purple, and her ears are pointed gently forwards. The shirt has become a bit large on her due to the concaving of her chest. She looks around, and, well, /leaps/ onto an empty chair. Or atleast, she hopes it's empty. She looks around the room, spotting Peter, who she smiles at...and then the colorful /thing/ that she has no idea what it is. Instead of disgust...she's actually fascinated by Rasa. Strangely and potentially rudely. "Tricks," Peter announces, quite boldly! -- "are /good/." This announcement comes with -- ZOOM! A mushroom that sends Peter skyrocketing across the course, before sharply doing a turn jump -- sending up puffs of dust! -- that sparks, then turns into /another/ zoom. He is tearing that ghost house the heck UP. "Stark didn't fire me. Also holycrap, I got my first paycheck, Rasa. Holy/crap/." This is all announced without ever looking up from the screen! When Ross suddenly leaps atop of a chair, Peter scarcely flinches -- there's a faint flick of his eyes, but then: "Ohhi Ross. Rasa, that's Ross. Ross, Rasa." Pause, before he adds -- in Russian! "{Careful. Controls brains. Via touch.}" "So that means you're funding a field trip to Russia to see an Ivan in his native habitat, right?" Rasa smiles as ze takes a sip out of hir glass, draining a quarter of the liquid down, then reaching down to put the glass on the ground next to the foot of the couch, against the couch where it should be safe. Ze then raises hir PBJ to take another bite, but there's a whumph near by. Ze turns hir attention toward the chair and raises an eyebrow at the figure in the chair. Ze then lets hir attention drift back to Peter. "{Control brains?}" Rasa fumbles the words, apparently focusing on an entirely different part of the Russian vocabulary. Still confused, but catching the 'careful,' ze turns and gives Ross a smile. "Hey." Ross is still staring at Rasa when she snaps back into reality. She looks at Peter, and nods a hello at Rasa...before hearing what Rasa said. "Gesundheit.", she nods at Rasa speaking Russian. "Don't listen to anything Peter may have told you about me.", she says with a fury after remembering what happened at the lake. "He's a liar. Whatever he told you I can do, he's wrong. I uh...see dead people, yes, that's it.". She says this, staring at the box of The Sixth Sense, and then turns back to Rasa. "Anyways, nice to meet you Rasa. Nice...skin?" "/Man/ I bet Ivan's having /all/ the Russian adventures," Peter says. "It'd be so sweet to go visit him but -- I think. I'm gonna try in the winter, maybe? He said we could eat Borscht." Peter frowns a little; it's hard to tell if this is in response to Rasa not quite understanding what he's saying or Ross' response. He's still on his way racing forward through GHOST HOUSE when he suddenly shifts a little closer to Rasa! And, for a moment, he's playing /ONE HANDED/. The other hand creeping over -- tentatively, in case Rasa wants to dart away! -- to touch hir shoulder. If said contact happens, Peterbrains immediately /RISE UP/ and: << If she touches you and tells you to do something, you do it. She -- probably won't, but. She did it to a new student I think she has some issues. >> The hand will hover for another moment to catch any response, before /darting/ back to the controller. "Um. Thanks?" Rasa blinks rapidly when Ross brings up hir skin. Ze remains sitting on the arm of the couch, stuffing a bite of hir sandwich into hir mouth. Ze chews quietly as ze listens to Peter. Ze looks back to Ross when Peter touches hir shoulder. Ze takes in a deep breath and hir brow furrows. Then there is a slow shake of hir head. << good to know. >> Hir tail slips over the edge of the arm ze is sitting on and lets it rest near Peter in case he needs it later. "So, you're new here? Peter and I have been here for a while. It's probably not best to just call someone a liar when you barely know them." There's a pause and then, "I'm not sure Ivan is going home for the winter. Maybe we can just ask him to learn to make borscht and make some when he's here." Scooting more comfortably into the chair, Ross opens her bag, choosing from one of..four handheld gaming devices. She chooses a red 3DS and opens it up, putting a cartridge in. "Oh, but, uh, he is lying. My other power is lie detection, yes.". Ross is obviously flustered that Peter has /told/ people about her power in the past and is slightly afraid he told Rasa as well. She's still stammering, until... "Fuck it, even if he didn't tell you I guess this is a good way to introduce myself so I don't look crazy. Which I am totally not. I have the ability to control people's minds via touch, happy?". As she says this last line, she stares, directly at Peter, trying to dig a hole straight into his soul. "And no, I won't use this on you, unless it benefits me /or/ I'm bored. And I'm not bored, I have this.". She holds up the 3DS, which she delves into, still peeved at whatever her mind is telling her to be peeved at and she really has no clue. And she also is killed by a goomba in seconds. Poor, poor, Ross. "Oh? Well I still want to see. Like, Russia. At some point. Maybe he can just show us how to make borscht," Peter agrees with Rasa's sentiment, JUST as he hits the next power up, and -- FLLYYYYYYY. Across the screen. His eyes do not flick away from the screen, even as Ross stares at him! "--you shouldn't use it on anyone," Peter tells Ross, kind-of-softly, kind-of-gently. "I mean unless. They're /okay/ with it or it's, like. Dangerous for you /not/ to." "I'm not saying you can't see Russia and you can't see it with Ivan. I'm just... you know, talking about plans." Rasa is fairly casual about the whole conversation, eyeing Ross's hand held game before looking up toward her face. "Ah! Honesty. That's better." Ze smiles a little, but hir coloration cools into darker tones, the blue swirls leaking into the pink like the sky after sunset. "Thank you for that, but you should know, I will report you if you do try to use your powers on me. We're all meant to be safe here, not really each others' entertainment." Ze inhales deeply and sighs, then glances over at Peter. "Practice is good. I mean, half of our powers are for self defense, though, some more than others." Ross is currently on her fifteenth gameover, being unable to jump simple goombas. Somehow. "Relax, I like you! I don't think I'll mindcontrol you, I only do that to people I don't like. Like sharks and white-haired freaks.". She smiles, only partially joking. "I'm useless in self defense. My bones are like brittle, I fell off that couch after vomitting on the floor right there, and broke my wrist. And it was a /very/ soft landing. I need to avoid PE however possible.". She instantly begins planning how to do this, before /finally/ killing that pesky goomba. Only to be hit by a koopa seconds later. She smashes the 3DS against a table, breaking it, and places it back into the bag, grabbing her /other/ 3DS, which is black. Sadly, this is her last one, so she can't break it. Hopefully. "Did you know," Peter informs Rasa, his entire body tiiiilting into the next turn -- threatening to bump hir! -- "that one of the new students -- can /fly/? Not, like, with wings. I mean just -- fly. Like SUPERMAN. Just, whooosh," he adds, kind-of-awed. Ross' mention of sharks and white-haired freaks manages to get Peter's eyes pulled away from the game a moment: "--you shouldn't. Um. The sharktwins -- /don't/," Peter says, something /almost/ like an edge entering his voice, "mess with them. Okay?" "Yeah. Seriously. They've been through enough," Rasa emphasizes Peter's point with an edge of urgency, hir skin a dark blue now, with a metallic tint, hair jet black and wavey around hir neck. Hir sandwich is placed on the corner of the couch in such a way that none of the bubbles of jelly will spread onto the fabric. "You're a bit of a wealth of information once you get past the initial defenses. Why do you like me? You don't know me. I could be a raging jerk who likes to destroy things in front of other people in a fit of frustration." Ze leans over to grab hir drink, slowly, keeping the new girl in hir peripheral vision. "YOu might want to avoid throwing yourself around the furniture, if it ... breaks you." Ze eyes Ross' cast. Ross's eyes perk up when Peter mentions /flying/. "Flying? Oh my god, like Wonder Woman? Is it someone I know? Oh my god, so awesome.". After her minor nerdgasm, she turns over ro Rasa. "Anyone who can tolerate Peter here, not including those shark freaks, has to be cool. Also, I'm not a jerk, damn it.". She smirks, looking at her own cast. "It'll be fine, all my bones heal eventually. That's soon enough for me.". She smiles, as she turns to watch Peter's game. And maybe also backseat drive him a bit. Probably both. "It's--" Peter begins, in response to Ross' question. But then: "--um I mean. I dunno if she -- wants -- maybe I shouldn't have even mentioned it? I guess. Everyone will know /eventually/ but um. It was -- Karolina." Tiny Peter voice. Like admitting this /might/ be some sort of terrible betrayal. His eyes sling back to Rasa, and then back to Ross, and: "--do your bones heal. Faster? Having breakable bones is kind of terrible man I don't know what I'd do I climb on /everything/." "Flight, eh? I don't know. People talk. It's only natural. I'm sure a bunch of people know about my mutation even though I don't talk about it. But yeah, it's probably not best to just announce to people, to, you know, practice for the outside world." Rasa takes a sip and then sets down hir glass, reaching for hir sandwich once more. "I more than put up with Peter, Shane, and Sebastian. They're my friends and I like them quite a bit." Ze takes a bite and turns hir attention to the screen as well. Hir food gets shoved to the corner of hir mouth. "Did you want to play, Ross? Peter might let us, when he finishes this round." Ross is calming down quite a bit, luckily, due to how calm all of this is. Until, you know, she learns that it's /Karolina/ who can fly. "/OhmygoshOHMYGOSH/. I knew she was awesome oh my gosh /squee/.". She even says the word squee! She then picks at her itchy wrist. "Faster, no, but, they heal all right! Also, I don't let it keep me down. I plan on trying to jump from the rooftop to the treehouse, blindfolded. I could totally do it.". She says this with the utmost confidence and enthusiasm, before turning to Rasa. "Hmm...., well, alright then...". She then uh, shys away, as she thinks of something. "Do you think, maybe, someday, /we/ could be friends?". She says this sincerely with all of her heart, never actually really /having/ friends before XS. "Also, yeah, that'd be fun! I call the green dinosaur thing that lays eggs. Bowser or whatever.". She smiles, enjoying herself. And also being strange. "I do not think," Peter informs Ross, /very/ cautiously, "you should jump off the rooftop. /I/ don't jump off the rooftop. And I'm -- uh, good at. Jumping off of stuff." Peter has, meanwhile, FINISHED THE RACE. At the mention of letting other people play, he quickly shifts back into the first menu! And: "You can play too, Rasa, if you want it's like. Up to four players? I think." His foot nudges toward the stool in front of him, kicking off the top! To expose additional controllers. "I'm training to jump off roofs, but that's different. And jump up things. And around and through them." Rasa gets up from hir perch and selects a controller, moving back to hir perch when ze is done. Ze also makes quick work of the rest of hir sandwich, nomming it happily. "But," ze says around the food at first, the words clearing up as ze swallows. "That is with training, and help, and a spotter until I'm expert at it." Ze takes a sip of milk to clear hir mouth. "Thanks, Pete. This Karolina sounds interesting. I'll have to look for her at some point." Smirking at Peter's comments about the rooftop, Ross slides forward, lifting a controller up with her foot into her hands. "So, what do I get when I win?", she states completely sarcastically, for once. She turns to Rasa. "Oh man, she's awesome. She /sparkles/. Like, sparkly sparkles." Ross sadly does not know how to keep her mouth shut, getting ready to select Yoshi immediately when they get to there. Then she realized something, something she didn't realize before. She always made fun of the freaks with physical mutations...and now she's one of them. Huh. She quickly gets out of the sentimentals as she plans her strategy for leaving the two of them in the dust to take the trophy. It will be hers. All hers. "Ohright I remember you saying that," Peter says, to Rasa. Before grinning, suddenly. And: "Raaaasaaa. /Raaaasaaaa/." As Peter selects DRYBONES on the character select screen. Plus BULLET for his vehicle! "Did I ever tell you my /super-secret/ name...? It's Peter... /PARKOUR/." MATCH BEGINNING. Peter selects -- WARIO STADIUM. Deprived of hir usual Yoshi pick, Rasa opts for Toad. "Suuuurrrreeeee, Peter. I know your secret now, and I'm going to post it on the internet for all to see." Empty threat issued, Rasa selects hir vehicle and punches up the menu to go. There's a sideways glance and then a tensing of hir shoulders. Ready, steady? GO! |
