<XS> Cody, Jack and Sergio's Dorm - FL2

The influx of new students this year has led to a bit of overcrowding at Xavier's, and it is starting to show in the dorm arrangements, many rooms like this one refitted for three students where they had once been built for only two. The standard two closets have been joined by a large armoire against one wall; three dressers have been moved in, three desks. A bunk bed on the left side, a lofted twin with its desk underneath it on the right.

There's that rare bit of time that happens just after classes, just before dinner and when most people are done studying. It's usually when people can get some socializing done or a little time in the rec room. For at least one person though, it's time to unpack. The newcomer to the class has taken up the first available spot on the left side of the room, his rucksack and backpack still sitting on the bed as a laptop that looks a little too old to be sitting around a place like this is upside down and open on a desk. Sitting in front of that is Cody, with a cheap jeweller's kit and a hobby soldering iron next to him, magnifying glass in hand and staring at something inside.

The result of frequent and numerous care packages, Sergio's portion of the room (the bottom bunk) is saturated in green and black: the colors of the Hawaii Warriors. His desk showcases photos of his freshman football team, his boy scout troupe, his large family, best friends, and his sunny, beach-filled life prior to coming to Xavier's.

Jack's portion of the room is considerably more lacking. For his part, it appears he's taken the top bunk. This leaves the lofted bed open for Cody, on his own side of the room.

"-always wanted to have a top bunk," Sergio whines good-naturedly as the door is pulled open for him. Wearing a red and white baseball tee and jeans, the boy in the wheelchair grins, laughing easily as he pushes himself into the room. His energy is warm and bright, and his smile only broadens as he spies the new addition, "What's up?"

Coming in behind Sergio is what seems to be empty clothes. Worn jeans, old sneakers, a school t-shirt, and a red hoodie...but no person inside. Floating clothes walking along. It's Jack and he gives a little shrug. "Just thought bottom would be easier on you," he says quietly. Where Sergio is all warm and bright, Jack's quiet and a little gloomy. The empty hood just nods a little greeting, Jack letting Sergio handle the talking for the moment.

"Juuuuust... a..." Cody mumbles out as he takes the soldering iron and touches it to a loose connection, "Sec." The glass is put down, and the new kid stands up and turns around to see the pair that he's bunking with. First down, and then up, before saying, "Soooo..." And then a bit of a nervous smile, "I got told I'd be staying here. Aloha... I'd guess." To Sergio, and then back up to Jack, where there's a couple seconds pause, "That... is gonna take some getting used to. Sorry."

Wrinkling his nose, Sergio tilts his head to consider Cody for a moment at the, 'Aloha.' "Hello." His smile remains glazed on his expression awkwardly, "Better get used to it fast. We just get more interesting from here." He huffs out a laugh and his biceps flex as he pushes himself over to his desk, where he eases himself up to stand. Pressing his palm to his desk for support, he turns back to smile over to Cody, "I'm Serg. I'm a telepath." He motions with a thumb to the hollow walking pile of clothes, "This is Jack. He's got like a hundred powers."

Jack just lets out a faint little sigh at the reaction. "Yeah, I get that a lot," he replies. He watches Sergio for a moment before heading over to his closet, unzipping his hoodie along the way. "Serg," Jack gives a quiet chuckle when the comment about his powers is made. "I've only got two..."

Cody moves over to his computer and seals it back up in record time, turning it back over and settling the frankenmachine sit there for a moment before he replies, "Cody. Mine involve a lot of crashing into things, and generally causing a mess." The whole concept of a telepath seems to be written a bit on his face, that mix of skepticism combined with a little fear of someone ACTUALLY being able to read his thoughts. Scratching his chin, the new student ends up looking down at his shoes for a second, and then glances up, "Okay, look... I know I'm not making any friends at the moment. But before six months ago, mutants were just a thing on the news for me. Then I started getting headaches, and my room looked like a tsunami'd been through it. If I'm crashing a solid friendship, I get it... and I can put some distance. There's a pretty nice stable here, and I could hide out in the loft until you both get cool with the idea of me being here."

Sergio’s eyebrows raise, but his smile doesn’t falter. He holds out a palm to signify a ‘stop.’ “Calm down,” he says, amused. “Don’t tsunami my crap. Even though, that’d be pretty cool and totally worth it to see.” He shakes his head rapidly and motions with his thumb again, this time to Cody’s magnifying glass and kit, “What are you working--” His voice drifts off, lashes fluttering. One hand presses against his forehead as the other reaches back for his wheelchair, which is just a little too out of reach. “Sorry, sometimes-” His concern with explaining himself doesn’t seem to help much.

The empty hoodie floats its way into the closet, Jack shaking his head. "No...it's alright, dude," Jack replies, forcing a smile even if no one can see. "Yesterday was just crap and today didn't go much better so I'm not at my best. S-...Lo Seinto," he offers an apology. "You don't have to go sleep in the barn or something," he says, digging some other clothes out of the closet. "So..you control water?" he asks since Cody used Tsunami to describe his power.

Ever the helpful one, Cody goes to the wheelchair and nudges it the rest of the way over so that Sergio can grab it, "To answer the first question, I had a bad solder in there, it must have popped when I was knocking around the cab. I bought like... a half-dozen busted lappies off Craigslist and took all the working parts to build one machine... which doesn't always work well." Then he addresses Jack as he moves to the opposite side of the room, sitting down on the lower bunk and keeping an eye on Sergio out of the side of one eye, "No, I... not even really sure what it is. It's like this weird pressure around me, and I can push it directions, put things inside of it and move them around... Supposedly I can fly, but right now it's a bunch of me trying to point the right direction and then running into things." The entire explanation causes him to get a wan smile on his face before asking, "You allright?"

Sitting back in the chair, Sergio rubs his temples. When he looks back up, it's as if he was rubbing his temples to try and comprehend, "So, you're like ...real smart? That's /crazy/." The fledgling psychic chuckles breathily, "You can build computers, destroy stuff, and fly."

Although he never actually asked what was wrong, it isn't all that difficult for him surmise. Sergio looks over at Jack with a look of knowing sympathy.

When Cody goes to nudge the chair, Jack reaches out to telekinetically stabilize Sergio just in case. He relaxes when the other football player sits down, offering an invisible but hopefully felt look of concern. "I have a feeling my advisor might like you," he remarks as Cody describes his tech work. "Most of that stuff goes over my head still," he admits. He hums a bit when powers are described, smiling to himself at Sergio's excitement. "Kind of like this?" he asks, using his telekinesis to float what he took out of the closet up to his bed. There's a long pause at that last question though, Jack stepping out of his shoes before he answers. "Yeah...eventually," he says.

Cody fishes into his pocket and takes out what looks like a large marble, and puts it down on the desk, the thing almost rolling off, "That was a can of pop I tried to do that with last week. Color me jealous already." Giving a smile and then a shrug while looking at Jack, or at least where Jack's face should be in his clothes currently, "If you knew how many toasters, TVs, and cellphones I broke along the way you wouldn't think so. I had to learn how things worked before I could make them work... take it apart and put it together until I knew what I was doing. I'm no Tony Stark, not even by a long shot."

“Don’t sell yourself short. I’m sure Tony Stark got his start the same way, dude.” Eventually rising, Sergio makes his way to the bottom bunk. He hesitates for a moment as Cody is on it. “I’m sorry, I gotta-” He trains a hand to the bed frame for balance and his chest puffs out as he heaves a breath, “-lie down. Just for like, a minute. Sometimes it’s hard to-” He motions in a vague twirl towards his temple as he sits on his bed beside the other guy. "-stay in my head."

"I wouldn't be too jealous. Doing that used to give me a hell of a headache. Only thanks to training here that I got better," he says. He can't help but chuckle a little at the mention of Tony Stark. He knows people who work for him. "Serg's right. Everybody's gotta start somewhere," he says, shirt riding up a little as he stretches. Of course Sergio gets him looking concerned again. "You okay?"

Getting up and moving away, Cody settles inside at one of the desk chairs, and then tilts his head to one side, "Stay in your head? I'm sure I'll understand what that means... eventually." Shaking his head once more, and rubbing his hands together as he waits, a smile back on his face, "So, Jack... I'm gonna need your help learning what to do and not do for Sergio. Just in case. But for me, I think I'm gonna want to get some dinner. You guys want to come with?"

Nodding his chin as if to reassure, Sergio crawls onto his plush, green and black comforter and draws his pillow out of the way in order to lie flat on his stomach. "I'm fine, I'm just dizzy," he reassures quietly from behind closed eyes.

<< If one of you grabbed me a sandwich or something, that'd be pretty sweet. >> His telepathic voice would sound just like his spoken one, but for the virtue of coming from nowhere in particular.

"I'll fill ya in," Jack offers, humming a little. "I think I'm gonna hit the showers before I head down to dinner. Skipped showering after football earlier so I probably need it," he says with a little chuckles. "I'll grab you something on my way back," he offers to the air, not sure where Sergio is specifically. He pauses and glances at Cody. "Sorry, we both do the invisible thing," he offers, hoping the new guy isn't bothered by the telepathy.

Cody looks like he's not entirely certain what's happened, so he focuses on Jack for the moment and gives an apologetic smile, "This is gonna take some adjustment. All I need to know is neither of you do THAT and walk around the room nude. I'm cool with seeing... not seeing... other guys like that. I did track and swimming back home, but... well..." And he cuts off, "Yeah, I'm gonna go down early and scope things out." With that, he grabs his repaired laptop and stuff, stashing it away in a beaten-up and sticker laden courier bag, the logos for various games on it... Borderlands, Assassin's Creed, Counter-Strike, and a Minecraft mattock on the flap, "See you... See you downstairs, Jack."
