Vignette - Cleaning the Gym
Dramatis Personae Billy	2014-12-27 Billy has a workout montage.
Location <XS> Gymnasium - B1
For a mutant school, this is a pretty standard gym, even if its sturdy construction to handle mutant powers is less standard. Still, it is designed along normal lines; setup for a basketball court, standard equipment -- punching bags, rubber mats, standard assortment of balls, weight training equipment, the usual fare. It is large, and as well-appointed as the rest of Xavier’s tends to be. With students and the like not yet even trickling back from winter break, the gym is only been sparsely occupied. ...unlike Billy’s head. Not one of the space’s usual faces, he slinks in and tentatively goes to work in the background of any of the gym’s seasoned vets. As time passes, the colorful, synthetic fabric of his shiny gym shorts and the neon green tank-top that adorn his willowy frame start to ombre. Before even an hour passes, they are as white as fresh fallen snow. Though the room is vast, the air around where he works out becomes thick with an overwhelming antiseptic smell. Through some flaw, as the air circulates the powerful antimicrobial irritant spreads rather than dissipates. One by one, it cleans the room of other X’ers who are too polite to call out the doe-eyed, notoriously over-sensitive student-teacher for something he can’t help. At some point, someone scotch tapes a sloppily hand-written note over the entrance to the gym, ‘Closed for Cleaning. Come back later.’ Anyone peaking in past it might see Billy oblivious to the effect he has, pumping his little heart out. When he finally does stop, he tugs out one of his earbuds and surveys the empty room. He wipes away a fat bead of bleachy sweat from his face with the back of his hand, which flaps tiredly to his side, “Where’d *pant* everybody *pant* go?” The music pumping out of his headphones can be heard from anywhere in abandoned room.
