Description
|
xxxxxLithe and of average height, Piper has doe-like blue eyes and long blonde hair. Her wardrobe consists of floral patterns and bright colors, with lots of leggings, asymmetrical skirts, and collared blouses.
Energetic and cheerful, Piper is proud of her job as a librarian and is eager to help anyone that walks through the library doors. Maybe too eager. Students that simply want to check out a book and leave are usually caught in web of infodumping about whatever they are researching before they can escape. Outside of the library, she tends to be easily distracted and has a hard time focusing on one thing at a time.

Reputation
|
xxxxxWhat (if anything) might others have heard about your character? It's okay if this is 'nothing'. This can also be specific to their faction (maybe they're class clown at their school!) or specific to a niche field (maybe you'd have heard of them if you know a lot about particle physics or cross country skiing, but not otherwise!)

History
|
xxxxxBorn as an only child to a pair of NYU professors, Piper had a fairly normal childhood with time spent on music lessons, science camp, and plenty of free time at the library. While Piper never truly excelled at one thing, she was fine with being a "jack of all knowledge" as her parents said. Problems only started arising when Piper's powers manifested; after she was kicked out of school for "multiple instances of cheating" thanks to her powers projecting answers during tests, her parents were able to find out about Xavier's School and enrolled her as soon as possible.
Piper started her 8th grade education at Xavier's in 2006, and graduated in 2011 with control of her powers. After receiving a dual degree in Library and Information Sciences at NYU, she returned to Xavier's to become the school librarian.

Powers
|
xxxxxPiper's powers, very simply put, involve visualization of information. She can telepathically project information into the air around her, like an interactive blackboard, using light broken into the full spectrum. Basically, her projections look like light shining through a prism; they also cannot work without some other light source nearby.
While her projections can be seen by other people, Piper is the only one that can change what is 'written' down. However, because her powers follow her train of thought, she really has to stay focused on what she is trying to show or explain. Otherwise people may learn about the Llama Song instead of ways the Dewey Decimal system can be improved.
Her projections can only expand out about five feet away from her, in a 4'x6' semicircle. If she moves, the projections move with her, following her around the room.
|
Skills
|
xxxxxPiper can play guitar fairly well and tries her hand at songwriting, though she doesn't consider it anything to brag about.
Thanks to degrees in library and information sciences, along with all of the time Piper has spent in the library as a Xavier's student and then employee, she is like a walking card catalogue. At least, a very specific, Xavier's centric one.
