Introduction A runt of a teenage girl with hazel eyes and long, brown, wavy hair. She normally wears modest clothing and athletic shoes. She has an optimistic demeanor which can sometimes come off as naivete. History Katherine "Kitty" Pryde recently moved from Chicago to the the dorms at Xavier's School for the Gifted. She enjoys modern literature, art, and all forms of hockey. She's not used to the massive estate of the campus, and is a bit bummed that the campus isn't in The City. She practices her powers diligently because she knows that she can't go to NYC until she has a better grasp on them. Her youth, bubbly personality, and unironic love of pop-culture lead people to assume she's an air-head or a slacker, but she's a diligent student and an activist. Her activist side comes from her mothers, Carmen and Theresa Pryde who abandoned their old surnames and put down roots in Chicago's old LGBT quarter. Genetically speaking, Kitty is the offspring of Carmen and an anonymous donor. Whoever he was, he didn't have any red flags and came from a similar background to Theresa--a child of jewish immigrants. The family never worried too much about the unknown parts of her genetics until her powers began to manifest. They all realized that without training, she could easily get herself killed or stuck. The family quickly agreed to apply to Xavier's school. Her mothers also knew that without protection, she could be recruited (or killed) by countless organizations. They lobbied the school behind her back to move her up in the wait list. Powers Kitty can phase through solid matter like it wasn't there. While she does so she takes anything she's carrying with her. She's never phased anything bulkier than a backpack. She has phased an inchworm once, but is worried about taking anything larger with her. While phased, she takes on a ghostly, transparent appearance. Her default state is in phase. She must willingly phase out. However, but she her power can fail to activate while under stress. It can also missfire if she's embarassed. Or sneezes really hard. Or gets a case of the hiccups. Kitty has no idea how her power works, just that it does. Connections Friends Dakota: We're roomates, so I really should figure that out. Marinov: Has a reputation as Cranky McCranky pants, but that's not the side they showed me. Foes None, fingers crossed. She's going to want to be at rallies and protests, even if it's only to witness. Team Hot Guy vs Team Cute Guy - Kitty doesn't have what you'd call a sophisticated taste of popular culture. She loves trashy dystopian YA fiction, vampire romance, the whole mess. Techie - Kitty isn't exactly a hacker, but she knows how to get the most out of modern tech. She has an app for that, if you'd only let her root your phone... On the Move - Kitty thinks best when she's on the move: walking, running, playing sports, or in a vehicle. She's started doing her homework while riding the subway wherever.
