Introduction

xxxxxA shy, clumsy bookworm who prefers reading to spending time with actual people, Rhiannon is a self-described eldritch horror.

Description

xxxxxRhiannon is a blue-eyed wisp of a girl with the face of a porcelain doll who can be seen sporting large, round, gold-rimmed glasses and skinned knees. Her wavy, often frizzy hair is such a light blonde that it looks bleached, but it’s actually her natural color.

Reputation

xxxxxBeyond a brief appearance in a newspaper after the first manifestation of her mutation, Rhiannon has had no public exposure at all. Among her fellow students, she has no reputation in the slightest, because she’s so quiet that she’s not easily noticed. She does, however, have a reputation among teachers as being smart, hard-working, and never causing trouble.

History

xxxxxRaised in England by parents who were emotionally distant all her life, doing very little for her besides making sure she had basic physical necessities, Rhiannon’s life was overturned when she was thirteen and her mutation first manifested. She was with her parents on a trip in America when someone tried to mug them. To the horror of both Rhiannon and her parents, she accidentally killed the attempted mugger. The incident ended up in a newspaper, and Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters contacted Rhiannon’s parents, eager to help the girl gain mastery over the abilities she didn’t yet have any control over. Her parents, bigoted against mutants and lacking the emotional attachment they should have to their own child, were all too happy to abandon Rhiannon at the school and disappear back to England, never to be seen again.

Powers

xxxxxRhiannon can summon pitch-black tentacles to manifest, appearing to grow from her skin, while not actually being a part of her. She can’t feel the tentacles like limbs, and can’t extend them beyond her sight, which is ironic given how terrible her sight is. These tentacles have unlimited strength, but once they are retracted, Rhiannon loses the energy the tentacles used. If she were to do something extreme with them, it could kill her or put her in a coma afterwards.

Skills

xxxxxRhiannon is very intelligent and academically talented, especially in reading and writing. She has a personal flair for writing poetry.

Legally blind and legally blonde - Rhiannon is, for all intents and purposes, sightless without her glasses.
Please don’t step on this doormat - She won’t defend herself from anything unless her life is in danger. Call her all the names you want, she’ll still never be anything less than polite.
Wait, doormat? You can’t mean her, right? - She might let people walk all over her, but she won’t stand for seeing anyone else getting picked on. She’ll get right in any bully’s face and tell them to back off. Threaten someone else’s life in her presence and watch out, you’ll get picked up by tentacles and chucked out a window.
Rolled a Nat 0 for dexterity - She is pretty much the clumsiest girl you’ll ever meet. There’s a reason why she always has skinned knees.
