"Oh god /whydidIlookthatup/?"

Location

<XS> Rec Room - FL2

School this may be, but life for Xavier's students certainly isn't all studying. Outside classes, this is a popular spot to find students in their downtime. An enormous tribute to slacking off, this room is a wealth of fun and relaxation.

Comfortable armchairs, couches, and beanbags offer plentiful seating scattered throughout the room, and the cushioned windowseats by the high windows offer a cozy nook to curl up and look out on the grounds.

The room is often filled with the noises of gaming -- whether it comes from the big-screen television (tall racks of DVDs beside it, if nothing can be found on the multitude of cable channels), tricked out with consoles from retro to the latest releases, or the less electronic clatter and thump of the pool table, air hockey, or foosball. For those a little more subdued in their gaming, the cabinets hold stacks and stacks of board and card games, ranging as classic as chess and go to as esoteric as Dixit, Catan, and Gloom.

More days than not, there's some variety of snacks to be found on a table beside the gaming cabinet -- quite often in the form of fresh-baked desserts.

It's later in the day, most students are calling it a day, but the nocturnal students are just waking up. Kaine should be part of the first group, but he's holding the rec room down. He's curled up on one of the couches in his blue and black plaid pajamas, the television tuned to a show set during the middle ages.

"This isn't going to be like that Game of Thrones, is it?" Jack asks from where he's perched on the couch near Kaine. Of course it just looks like lounge pants and a sleeveless black t-shirt with 'Spooky' written in green letters sitting there. "With all the gore and random nudity I mean?" he asks, shifting to get more comfortable.

"For the last time, I didn't bring that dress with me!...No, I'm not wearing that, we're just going to get coffee or something....No I don't know what we're doing. Look, I'll call ya back later. Love ya sis," Liv rattles into her phone as she walks into rec room, pressing END just as she steps through the door. She makes her way over towards the TV and plops down in a chair with a groan, not really caring what's on. "Hey guys..." she grumbles, making herself comfy despite being one of the few not changed into PJs yet.

"Maybe, definitely gorey. It /is/ called the bastard executioner." Kaine replies with a slight grin, attention shifting to Liv as se walks in. "Hey there. Somebody get around to finding a date with you already?" He shifts his gaze back to Jack, "Should have been engaging in all those fistfights and all that time in the gym. Always get around late to these things." He flashes her a playful wink as she walks over to the chair.

Jack makes a face even if no one can see it. He's never been one for gore. "Oh man..." he trails off. He blinks a few times and glances over the back of the couch when Liv enters. "Hey, Liv," he greets. Kaine's comment gets an invisibly arched brow and he looks to Liv to see her reaction.

Liv suddenly pales as Kaine teases her for getting a date. "Wha-no! I mean, who told you that?" Her attempt to play it off coolly rolled a Natural 1 so she quickly pulls her phone back out and opens up the internet. "I asked him..." she eventually mumbles, her cheeks turning a pale pink as she pretends to be deeply engrossed with Facebook.

"Asked who?" Sergo asks from the doorway. His smile broadens, eyes slipping to Liv conspiratorially before scanning the room and winking in the other boys' direction. Perhaps it's the influx of self-confidence, but he's walking today. Standing at his full height, with his shoulders back, the would-be jock slides into the room, "Hey, guys." He manages to be a little sheepish, roughing up the back of his hair with a hand. "Hey," Liv gets her own greeting.

"The pretty ones always end up breaking my heart, I must be hideous. Only explanation, unless it's the lack of facial hair. Damned gills." Kaine sighs, before looking to Sergio. When he greets Liv separately the playful grin on his face turns into a full smirk. "Is it Sergio? Has to be." He turns to look at Jack. "How am I supposed to compete with him?" He lifts his arm to indicate the newly arrived teenager, who he greets with an actual smile. "Hey man, good to actually see you for once."

"I'm resisting the urge to use the cliche...but we just had an influx of new students, Kaine. Plenty of new girls to charm," Jack points out helpfully. Liv's reaction and then Sergio's arrival has the invisible teen looking curious. "Asked him to coffee, huh? Coffee Bean in town is a good place and friendly to people like us," he offers. He's a little surprised to see Sergio walking. Shoulders rise and fall with a shrug and Jack chuckles a little. "Hey, I don't know. I'm in a different competition."

At the sound of Sergio's voice, Liv slowly looks up, her face burning bright red before she quickly lowers her eyes back to her phone. Twitter sounds good. As he approaches, she gives Sergio a quick glance and smile. "Hey," is all she says before returning to her phone. Kaine's flirting and Jack's suggestions really aren't help the tomato status of her face so proceeds to ignore them, neither confirming not denying any details. Sergio clasps his hands together, and then gently opens them to drop some knowledge, "It's not a competition. That might help." He laughs warmly as he moves slowly across the room to sit by Jack's side, smiling to Kaine, "Oh, yeah. I guess I'm always in your head when we run into each other." He sortof feigns a silent 'oops.' Turning inward to himself, he presses his index and pointer finger against his temple as if to steady ...his mind.

"It's obviously not a competition, I'm not part of the dating scene. I'm just here to be pretty." Kaine begins to flash a grin, but instead winces as one of the soldier's on screen slits the throat of a small boy. "That's harsh." He gives is head a shake before looking back at Sergio. "Yeah, haven't actually seen you the last couple of times we've spoken. But at least I'm actually wearing real clothes this time, kind of."

Moving over to make room for his roommate, Jack winces and lifts his arms to cover his eyes at the violence on screen. Only the subtle movements of his shirt give away the movements though. "Dude..." he trails off. Shaking it off, he looks over to Liv and considers her a moment. "You okay?" he asks. When he notices Sergio steadying himself, Jack reaches out to touch his arm lightly in a silent repeat of that question. Then there's a pause and Jack looks to Kaine. "...you mean your swim suit, right?" he asks, getting a mental image that has him blushing.

Liv looks over towards Jack, her face beginning to return to a normal color. "Yeah...yeah, I'm good. It's just..." Whatever she was about to say goes unsaid as she glances towards Kaine curiously. "Wha-clothes? Were you...were you not wearing clothes?"

"It doesn't really matter," Sergio offers quietly as he regains himself, "I can tell what's going on whether or not you're wearing clothes, anyway." He motions generally with his hand over his chest, where he puffs out his pectorals against the fabric of his t-shirt for good measure. He pats Jack's hand, smiling and saying in a reassuring tone of his own, "Stop worrying so much." The telepath smile widens, and he gives the thumbs up, "He was wearing like, a mankini." ... "...What the hell are you guys watching...?"

"Yeah, I don't think there are many people at the school that haven't seen me in my swim wear. Except the professors." Kaine says, reaching up to rub at his jaw. "The Bastard Executioner, new series. Hopefully I don't miss all of this like I did American Horror Story."

Jack lets out a breath. "That's good. Had me worried there...don't you know I'm the one that's supposed to be running around with no clothes according to some people," he jokes a bit. "Can't help it," he asides to Sergio. He's relieved though. "Is all of that on that Netflix thing? I thought we had that here..."

A few quick taps into her phone and Liv suddenly lets out a squeak, quickly turning the phone off and shoving it in pocket. "Oh god /whydidIlookthatup/?" she groans, quickly looking up to the TV show that everyone's grossing out about. It has to be better than Googling 'mankini'.

"/You know/," laughing at Liv's squeak, Sergio covers his nose and grin with a cupped fist, "I bet /you'd/ be way more stealthy in a mankini, Jack." He throws a playful punch at the invisible boy's shoulder.

"That tiny thing I was wearing when we met." Kaine informs Liv. "Also what I wear when I decided I should be doing yoga after I hit up the pool. Or when the heats getting to me. Can't wait for the snow to come again, so I can wear shorts and enjoy it, rather than being miserable."

"Google can be dangerous. I hope you had safe search on at least," Jack ofers to Liv. Sergio's teasing gets a laugh even as Jack blushes. "I don't know...I think people would notice one of those floating around."

Liv breathes a sigh of relief when Kaine explains. "Good, not that yours is any better but...it's not one of /those/." She glances over towards Jack and shakes her head quickly. "No. Just please, no. Seeing those on visible people is horrifying enough. I don't know if I could handle them floating near me."

Sergio holds out a hand as if to put pause Liv's hesitations, "Jack looks like a supermodel under all his ghost makeup, trust me." He peeks over towards Jack, arching an eyebrow, "If they noticed it floating around. I'm sure they'd be way too polite to point it out."

Almond shaped eyes widening some, Sergio turns to study Kaine for a moment, "I've uhm, never ...seen ...snow." ... "Does it get real cold here?" His head tilts.

"Real cold. Not as cold as back home, unfortunately. But it's comfortable here." Kaine says, his own eyes widening a bit when Sergio says he's never seen snow. "Well you're in for a freezing treat. Fortunately for me though, I never actually got cold here. Always comfortable." Unsurprisingly, it's about this time a few snowflakes begin to form over the teens on the opposite end of the couch, only to drift lazily down onto the pair.

"Don't worry, Liv," Jack laughs. "When it comes to a swimsuit, I'll stick to the shorts I have. I'll leave the tiny shorts look to Kaine," Jack remarks, giving the ice controller a little playful shoulder push. Sergio has him sputtering a but, blushing furiously. "I don't...oh man..." he trails off, almost squeaking. He stays quiet until the snow falls, the flakes falling on him looking like they end up floating in mid air as they melt on him.

"Snow! I forgot all about that!" Liv suddenly perks up, grinning as the topic is brought up. "I've never seen snow either. Well...maybe once or twice we've had a couple flakes. Whole city shuts down though. I still don't know how people actually, y'know, /live/ with the stuff." She gains a somewhat dreamy look, happily imagining the scenery with fresh snow.

Sergio hushes, acquiring a dreamy look of his own as he watches snowflakes begin to fall above him. He lifts his palms up as if to try and catch them. "Oh," he pants, in awe. As one lands close to his eye, he flutters his lashes.

"I'm mister white Christmas, I'm mister snow." Kaine half-sings merrily. "Just wait until it starts really snowing and I can put my igloo back up. And it's always toasty in my igloo," he shoots a devilish grin, "though that's usually between myself and whoever decides to camp with me." The grin drops and he looks over at the floor, rubbing at the side of his neck, "Though right now my igloos have only been used for solo napping."

"People adapt," Jack murmurs quietly, using his TK to direct some of the snow to Sergio's hand. He learned how to live with the snow while he was on the streets after all. But he doesn't get into that. "Hey...if you just want a little plain camping...maybe I'll join you for a weekend," he offers to Kaine. "Provided you're right about things being warm."

"I suppose," Liv says simply, fascinated by the snow show occurring before her. "Oooh, an Igloo! That sounds fun, I'd love to camp in one of those with you!" Any hidden meaning naively unnoticed as she begin grow excited with the thought of winter. "And snowmen! Oooh, and snowball fights! Oh, and I've always loved how Christmas lights look in the snow!" She is thoroughly in her own winter wonderland world right now.

"I love camping," Sergio seems swept up in similar nativity to Liv, looking over at Kaine with big, innocent eyes like he holds the key to the castle. Of course, all of his camping experience is tropical. "Is it really warm in the igloo? Or are you just saying that?"

Sergio catches the snowflakes Jack pushes in his direction, watching with wonder as they melt in his palm. His invisible roommate's under the breath comment about adapting doesn't go entirely unnoticed, and his eyes to shift to catch Jack's, but he says nothing.

"Sounds like we're going to have us a little camp out sometime," Jack remarks with an unseen grin. Of course he's not a camping fan for obvious reasons but if his friends want to, he'll come along. "You can make a pretty warm shelter with snow," he says quietly, from experience. Shaking it off, he starts to stand. "I think I should head to bed. Gotta be up early tomorrow. Training for football," he declares, excitement creeping into his voice. "Gonna hang down here for awhile?" he asks Sergio, glancing over at Liv for a moment. He'll ask his roommate later about that situation.

Liv yawns softly and rises from her chair also. "Mmm, I really should get some sleep. My mornin' class is hell. And I still need to dig through my closet," she says, glancing briefly towards Sergio. "I'll see y'all later then. Take care." She figures the roommates have some talking to do and she'd like to be out of earshot.

"Nah, I'll come up with you," Sergio rises with Jack, perhaps too eager to be the other teen's lackey. "Night, Liv," Sergio says in a hopeful tone, perking up somewhat. As always his smile an easy one. Of course, as soon as the girl is out of ear shot he makes a cutting gesture with his hand to grab Jack's attention, "/DUDE/-" Because there's no way he isn't going to catch his roommate up.
