The hallways here are not as bright as they once were, cheery yellow paint faded to a dingier shade, carpeting old and worn and threadbare. They are generally clean, though, despite the fading, diligently cared for by the building's maintenance. It's early evening, still light out, when the door to the third floor stairwell opens. The teenager who emerges is a familiar face! Very unmistakeably /blue/. Gills at the sides of his neck, enormous jet-black pupilless eyes. Sebastian is dressed cheerfully, at the moment, a pleated sunshiney-yellow skirt, a pink ribbed tank top, chunky pink-and-grey platform sneakers, a backpack slung over his back. His keyring is clutched dangling from his clawed fingertips, keys jingling quietly as he emerges into the hallway. Gabriel slowly slips out of his door, dressed in a light gray jacket, blue jeans, and brown boots. He seems to be dressed to go out, bag in arm. As he walks out, smiling, he spots Sebastian. "Oh hey! It was..'Go Fuck Yourself', yes?". He smiles. "Atleast, I think that's what you told me.". He gently locks his door, after slipping out. "Though, we really didn't get to talk last time, I guess.". Sebastian twitches, dropping his keys in startlement to the floor with a jingle of metal. His nostrils flare, his gills flare, and he takes a reflexive step back. His eyes widen huge as he looks at Gabriel in sudden complete bafflement. "-- Excuse me? What did you just say to me?" Gabriel looks up in confusion, tilting his head. His eyebrows raise slowly. "Wait..did I say something wrong? I mean, I knew you were joking on the rooftop! Atleast, I think you were?". He scratches his chin slowly, as he looks inside his basket for a second. "It's me? Remember? Gabriel? Atleast, I think I told you my name.". "You just told me to go --" Sebastian blushes, cheeks tinting a darker shade of blue, and doesn't actually /repeat/ this quote. "I mean, that's not -- usually -- considered /polite/." He says this apologetically, like Gabriel might be /unaware/ of this. Gabriel thinks for a second, scratching his head again. "Oh, sorry. I was just..well, you were kind of unpolite when we last met? So I was kind of joking? I mean, when I asked you your name, you told me those exact words, so..look, sorry to be rude! Maybe you were just having a bad day!". His face is kind of embarrased, a bright red tint. "Again, sorry about that!" Sebastian cringes, at this explanation, though he does relax. His hand scrubs against his cheek, his head ducking sheepishly. "Oh -- ohhhh." His nose crinkles up, eyes blinking -- first one and then the second set of eyelids. "Sorry, I didn't -- um. /Sorry/. I didn't meet you. On the roof. I'm sorry if -- wow. What -- did I -- say?" Gabriel blinks twice at this revelation. Just. Blink blink. He brushes his hair back, smiling a bit. "Well, I think 'you' were just being anti-social? Except the part when 'you' told me my sister could go fuck herself, but sometimes I agree with that too, I guess.". He laughs a bit before realizing what he said, and smacks himself gently on the head. "Kidding, kidding. But, yeah, it's no big deal. Evil clone problems, perhaps?". "Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. I didn't -- I mean, /I/ didn't do anything." Sebastian's nose crinkles up, and he leans back against the hallway wall with his hand scrubbing over his face again. "/Sorry/. My brother," he explains. "He can be -- a /little/ abrasive sometimes. I'm sorry if he was rude to you and your sister. He just -- doesn't really like people, sometimes." "It's fine!", Gabriel says, smiling. "I hold nothing against him. I'm slightly creepy, I guess.". He laughs slightly..eccentriclly. "You two are..Jackson's kids, yes? I asked your brother but he wasn't very../cooperative/.". He smiles again, as he continues, still fidgeting in his bag with one hand. "We went to school together, I guess. Small world?". Eccentric, indeed. "You went to Xavier's?" Sebastian's ridged hairless brows lift, and his black eyes slip over Gabriel curiously. "/Huh/. Yeah. Small world. Jax is --" He blushes, again. "Jax is our pa, yeah. I'm /really/ sorry about Shane, he's not --" He hesitates, then scuffs a toe sheepishly against the ground. "... he probably /wasn't/ joking on the rooftop." Gabriel says, "Yeah. My sister's going to enroll, probably. You may see her in a few months!". He smiles, as he looks at his watch. "Joking or not, I guess..I understand? This is a crazy scary world we live in. People like...". He points to the both of them. "Us, I guess it's hard for us? Everyone takes it out in their own ways. Though I may just be rambling, I guess."." Sebastian looks from Gabriel's pointing hand down to his own (clawed, webbed, blue.) His smile is a little crooked. "Yeah," he agrees softly. "It can be hard for people like us." He shrugs a shoulder, smile evening out. "Your sister's coming? What's her name? Do you live here?" He looks at Gabriel with a slight note of confusion. "Does she?" Gabriel stretches back, slowly. "Her name's Lucia. She doesn't live here, /yet/, possibly, but I do. Just down the hall, 302.". He smiles, as he spots Sebastian's smile. "Well, anyways it was nice meeting you! But I'm meeting a friend, I guess. See you around, I hope!". "Oh! /Huh/." Sebastian glances down the hall towards 302, nodding. "Cool! Um -- it was nice to meet you. If you run into my brother again --" His nose crinkles up. "Um, sorry." He offers Gabriel a small shy smile, and scoots away from the stairwell door, heading down the hall himself. |
