Three mutants in the gym.

Location

<XS> Gymnasium - B1

For a mutant school, this is a pretty standard gym, even if its sturdy construction to handle mutant powers is less standard. Still, it is designed along normal lines; setup for a basketball court, standard equipment -- punching bags, rubber mats, standard assortment of balls, weight training equipment, the usual fare. It is large, and as well-appointed as the rest of Xavier's tends to be.

There's what might qualify as an odd sight in the gym this evening. A pair of work out pants, a pair of sneakers, and a sleeveless t-shirt laying on the benchpress bench with the weights slowing rising and lowering over them. Of course people that met him would know this is Jack. Some students went out on the last day of mid-winter break but the invisible teen's opted to stay in and avoid all that miserable cold and ice out there today.

Coming down to the gym, Faelan makes his way out of the locker room in a pair of track pants, a compression tee shirt with the Xaviers logo on it and a small mp3 player on a strappy thing on his arm. Over his ears are a pair of bluetooth headphones, and he seems to be wearing a black collar around his neck, made of some metal or plastic. Stretching out, he watches the pair of clothing lifting weights somewhat amused, and out of a sense of comradery he concentrates a moment causing his own body to disapear, leaving his outerware there. Of course he didn't think to wave to Jack till this had already happened, and a watch jerking back and forth in the air is what the result is. "Gah, I'm dumb," he remarks to himself before he makes his way over to the benches. "So apparently you lift, bruh."

Kaine is out near a selection of mats, one of the only people doing yoga out here. He's currently dressed in a pair of masculine yoga pants, a purple Jimi Hendrix shirt, and his long white hair is done up on a messy bun atop his head. He eventually transitions from a pose that has his upper body horizontal while balancing on one foot, to a fully upright position. His attention shifts to a bottle of frozen water, which he collects and moves towards the benches himself. "This place is great." he comments to nobody in particular, "Manual labor's about all the exercise you get out in the bush." Then his attention is back on that bottle, which he gives a little shake, causing the ice inside to transition into water. "Oh yeah, name's Kaine." he offers to the other two mutants before taking a drink.

Concentrating on his workout, Jack doesn't notice Faelan's entrance. He finally looks over when light glinting off that watch catches his attention. He stops mid light and looks over at the other set of floating clothes. "Wha?" he's a little startled, not used to that. A second later and he shakes it off. An unseen smile is offered Faelan's way and Jack carefully puts the weight back on the safety catch. "Yeah, I lift," he laughs, sitting up. "What about you, bruh?" he asks. The sudden comment from Kaine makes Jack blink and glance over. "Uhh...hey," he replies a little awkwardly.

Reappearing, Faelan offers a wave to Kaine, inclining his head as well. "Faelan. And you'll have plenty of exercise here at least. I recommend avoiding gym classes with Professor Logan though. Or Professor Summers. For completely different reasons." He shudders then chuckles, and shakes his head at the lifting question. "Not that much. Runner mostly, I've had to lift more with the new training they're putting me through. But still its mainly running, since the goal is Not to get hit, or caught." He smiles as he leans against an unoccupied rack. "You two can probably outlift me easy."

"Probably not. Not a very strong man." Kaine says with a shrug, moving to sit on an unoccupied bench. "What's wrong with their classes?" He asks with a raised brow. "I'm more of a swimmer, honestly. But I suppose that's obvious."

There's just a small twinge of jealousy from Jack as he watches Faelan reappear. As strange as seeing another set of floating clothes was, he'd liked not being the only one. "I'm Jack," the still invisible teen introduces himself. "And that sounds more like my kind of work out. The kind where ya work on speed and agility. I do some lifting too but not as much as some of the other guys I used to know," he says, scooping a towel off where he had it hanging to wipe his forehead. The towel gets damp even if his sweat is as invisible as the rest of him. "Yeah, what is wrong with their classes?"

"They don't really believe in taking it easy. Imagine the sorest and sweatiest you've ever been, and then feel like that every day," Faelan says with all seriousness, the benefit of being an alumni talking to the underclassmen. "Of course, I'm doing all my training with whomever is available, so I still end up like that when I have full sessions with them. Its very inspiring to run faster seeing them running behind you," he shakes his head. "But I feel that if I can survive this, I'll totally be awesome at that parkour stuff. You've got a lot of environment training to work with so you don't have to think when you're moving."

"Sounds awful. But, I like the idea of being able to do that." Kaine says with a slight shrug, before speaking to both of them. "Anyway, it's sweet to meet both of you. Should have a schedule soon, though I doubt they'd have anything super interesting with the weather. I'll probably be the only person out in the lake for a bit too." He reaches up and unties his hair, shaking it out and letting it fall back into place.

"That doesn't sound nearly as bad as it should," Jack replies with a slightly sheepish laugh. "I mean...sure you'd be worn out to all heck but imagine how much stronger and faster and stuff you'd be," he pauses a beat. "Well, will be in your case," he notes to Faelan. "Parkour stuff is way harder than it looks," Jack mutters, just a little bit of embarrassment in his tone. "Wouldn't be sure about that. We've got other people with gills here," he says, stretching.

"Yeah just you and the twins when they're here," Faelan says with a nod. "Nobody else wants to be that cold and that near the water. Bobby, my old room mate, was a major frost bucket and he still avoided the lake this time of year. Course he also froze bits of the lake in the summer too, so there was that." Faelan rolls his eyes. "And yeah, it looks awesome, but when you're doing it, you're just thinking Don't Fall, Don't Fall, Oh god wheres the wall, and other such things. Obviously there isn't as much telepathic overhead there..." he says with a chuckle. "Its super impressive when Herr Wagner does it though. He makes it look so damn easy."

"Yeah, I was talking about the cold." Kaine explains slightly, nodding towards Faelan. "Yeah, first and foremost I'm like a cryomancer or something. The gills and stuff are new." He waves vaguely towards them with webbed fingers. "But, I'm really just a mechanic."

"Do you know a lot of who used to room with who?" Jack asks Faelan, his interest caught. "I haven't seen Professor Wagner do any free running yet. I just know when I tried it, I almost died," he admits. "The lake's nice to look at right now at least even if going for a dip is a bad idea."

"Being a mechanic is something. I bet the robotics club could use some more hands if you're interested," Faelan replies and hrms. "Not a super lot. I mean I didn't really get into other people's businesses that much, and a lot of people changed room mates every year. Some people stayed with the same room mate, so I guess it worked out. Or at least worked out without them dating, there is occassionally dating drama going on." He shrugs, again not particularly wanting to go into other peoples businesses. "As for not dieing while doing it, being able to teleport helps a lot."

Kaine dips his head, falling quiet when people start speaking of roommates and dating. "Never cared to get into other people's business." He admits, rubbing his jaw. "Seems like a great way of just pissing everyone off. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy keeping up with recent news, but that's really about it."

"Oh, we can change roommates every year? I didn't know that," Jack remarks, humming thoughtfully. He falls quiet for a moment, thinking about that information. After a moment he shakes his head and offers a little chuckle. "Teleporting wasn't an option for me. Had to rely on upper body stregth and a little bit of telekineis," he says. Taking a breath, Jack starts standing. "I should hit the showers."

Nodding, Faelan smiles and says "Yeah you aren't really locked. And if you're having problems with your current one can probably get switched sooner than later." Nodding a bit, he hrmed. "Most people can't rely on teleporting, and well most professionals dont have powers are all. It does help a bit though. Hrm, oh something you may want to think about having telekinesis available. Very strong, very light cord. If you can get it wrapped around something to help you hold on better, or ya know wrap it around someone's let or arm or something..." he nods as he thinks this out, though the bluetooth headphones suddenly pulse blue lights on it. "Ah crud, a call. Hold on."

Tapping the earbud, Faelan's lips move and there is the slight hum at his throat, his face fairly concentrating on what he's doing as he has his silent call. Tapping the headset again, the blue pulse disapears. "Alright gents, thats me getting to go out and freeze my ass for some more training... yay. It's almost as if they think I'm invisible to cold or something." Letting out a long suffering sigh, he puts on a brave smile. "Have a good evening guys. I need to get my gear and go if I want to make it in time." Offering a wave, he sprints on off towards the locker room.

"I like the cold." Kaine says with a sight shrug, nodding towards Jack. "Alright, I'll let you get on that. Bit more stuff I should be doing anyway." And with that, he finally turns his attention towards the bar, loading it up to 150 pounds. "Take care, and all that." He offers the invisible mutant once more before settling down on the bar.
