<XS> Rec Room

School this may be, but life for Xavier's students certainly isn't all studying. Outside classes, this is a popular spot to find students in their downtime. An enormous tribute to slacking off, this room is a wealth of fun and relaxation.

Comfortable armchairs, couches, and beanbags offer plentiful seating scattered throughout the room, and the cushioned windowseats by the high windows offer a cozy nook to curl up and look out on the grounds.

The room is often filled with the noises of gaming -- whether it comes from the big-screen television (tall racks of DVDs beside it, if nothing can be found on the multitude of cable channels), tricked out with consoles from retro to the latest releases, or the less electronic clatter and thump of the pool table, air hockey, or foosball. For those a little more subdued in their gaming, the cabinets hold stacks and stacks of board and card games, ranging as classic as chess and go to as esoteric as Dixit, Catan, and Gloom.

More days than not, there's some variety of snacks to be found on a table beside the gaming cabinet -- quite often in the form of fresh-baked desserts.

Hands in the pockets of his slacks, Billy meanders through the corridors of his former school with his head in the clouds. Dreamily, he visits all the old pockets that used to be his old favorite places to get away and hide, or read. Returning, even after not having gone very far, Xavier's seems so much smaller.

Dressed all in varying tones of white, the young man smooths out his tie with a leather-gloved hand as he enters the Rec Room. Lingering in the doorway, he scans the room in the same nostalgia-induced fog.

The rec room is not empty as Billy enters it. There is a loud clack-ing sound as pool balls impact each other, scattering every which way on the table. Elli straightens up from the table, putting the butt of the pool cue on the floor as she looks up and down Billy in a measuring gaze, tapping the tip of the long stick against her shoulder consideringly. "You look lost," she drawls, a light smirk on her lips as she steps around the table and leans down to the level of the table to sight her neck shot.

Clack, thump, thump, clack, bump. Nine, around the table, off of the three. She straightens up as the balls move around, watching them closely. "New student? You look a little bit old for it."

"Do I?" Billy asks with a laugh. Leaning a shoulder casually against the doorframe, he offers a closed-mouth smile. "Old student. Cool hair," he nods his chin, attention drifting to take in the finer details of the room. He never hung out in here. Ever.

"'Course it is." Elli grins at Billy, running a hand through her brightly-colored hair and leaning back down to the table to take her next shot. The three, straight in. "Old student? I didn't think they just let the doors stay open for 'em. What brings you back to campus? Meeting with X?" She asks, nosily, giving the man a curious glance as she swings around the table to line up once more.

"You fucking /mind/?" Behind where Billy is lingering in the doorway, Shane is trying to get /in/, his hands very much occupied with an enormous spiralling metal -- tree? Laden with cupcakes. So many cupcakes, very prettily topped with ganache and garnished with crushed hazelnuts. The tiny sharkboy is very much avoiding just /pushing/ past Billy -- maybe out of concern for bleach on his his Very Fine Clothes, dapper as ever in pinstriped vest and dark slacks and neat bow-tie in his crisply collared dress shirt.

"Nice shot-" Billy starts to huff out in an impressed tone, apathetically glancing Shane down and up as he shoves past. He remains in the doorway for a moment before sidestepping out of the way, not even feigning shock at the impolite little shark boy. Idly, he fidgets with the silver button of one of his gloves ...as if he'd like nothing more than to bleach the shit out of that outfit. "Nice to see you too, Shane," he greets dryly.

"You two know each other?" Elli asks, curiosity distracting her momentarily from her game, sticking the butt of the cue into the floor and leaning against it. The cupcakes don't go unnoticed, at all - actually, fuck the people in the room, /cupcakes/. "Who are those for?" she asks, trying (failing) to sound disinterested and innocent, as her eyes track their movement across the room.

"For everyone, who the fuck do you think they're for?" Shane slips in past Billy to set the cupcakes down on the usual side table where Jax and the cook store their Treats. "He graduated with my dad," he informs Elli. "New teacher now." He sounds /offended/ by this last fact -- possibly due to the indignity of a teacher in the traditionally teacher-free zone of the rec room. "/That's/ a new tone on you where the hell did you find a spine." He /does/ look just a little bit shocked at the rather drastic departure from Billy's normal deportment.

Billy pouts, but doesn't bait Shane any further. The clasp of his glove lets out an audible snap as he secures it, "You two enjoy the cupcakes." He presses a flat smile to his face as he nods to Elli, withdrawing from the doorway and back out into the hallway.

Once alone and making his way down the corridor, he slips back into the same sentimental haze he'd appeared in.
