<NYC> Dogtown - Midtown East

A small nook of a joint in Midtown, Dogtown is decorated with little thought to class or style. Cheerful, with black and white tiled flooring, bright red tables, bright yellow walls, menus plastered on peeling sheets over the counter, the walls are papered in an assortment of photographs -- smiling patrons who hold records for successfully eating six or more hot dogs in one one-hour sitting. The menu here is simple and solid -- hot dogs both beef or vegan with a huge array of toppings, fries, slaw, chili. It's not haute cuisine but the dogs are good enough to draw large crowds, especially late at night.

This is not a place that Sasori would usually frequent, the chances of her finding a monster fruit smoothie or anything healthy which she normally consumes is slim to none. However, there is something so awesome about the guilty pleasure of 'sneaking' a hot dog that drew Sasori in just as the place was opening. That and she was starving and still getting situated in the city. She's the type that still has a big military sized duffelbag stuffed to the brim and casually slung over one shoulder as she waits in line. Meanwhile, it's all about counting how much cash she has on hand and perusing the menu.

Ash can be healthy! He really can. He buys fresh veggies every day and cooks them into deliciousness for dinner, along with delectable proteins and starches - but this place seriously has the best dogs and Ash has a craving. He shuffles in out of the gray world of impending rain with his hands stuffed in the light jacket he's wearing around his torso. His jeans and steel-toed boots are covered with a thin layer of grime that pretty much declares him a construction worker currently on the job - or on break at least. He walks over to the line and gets in it, his attention on the menu board and not necessarily on the fact that the woman in front of him has a huge duffle. Misjudging the space between them by only glancing at her head, he accidentally bumps his shoulder against her bag. "Oh! Lo siento!"

Sasori shifts with the bump, it's an instinctual reaction to growing up where humanity is a lot more crowded than it is here in this country. A tightening of her grip on the straps and she doesn't even seem to notice it all, at least until the person is speaking in a language she doesn't know. It occurs to her then that they might be talking to her and so she looks in that direction and smiles, "It's alright. Thank you." Her english is very good, only the slightest accent, barely noticeable. She does however take a further step away from Ash however as that initial examination discovers so much... dirt.

What is healthy? This sounds like such a strange concept. To Nicoleta, atleast. Food is food, if it goes into your mouth and is supposed to be eaten, it doesn't matter /what/ it is. Mostly. Toma has a totally different opinion that Nicoleta hates to listen to, though. The Lupei Twins walk into Dogtown, Nicoleta still recovering from horror-surgery-kidnap, Toma following closely behind her. Nicoleta has totally taken advantage of her horrible incident to look /cooler/, atleast to her, a black half tanktop, bandaging around her waist to hide her wounds and scars or just to look badass or something, a pair of black ripped jeans, and a gray jacket over her back. Toma is a bit more modest, a pair of similar jeans that aren't ripped, a black Ramones T-Shirt, and a matching jacket over his back.

As they enter into line, Toma takes a slow glance at Ash, a sort of squint in his eye. Whatever he's thinking, Nicoleta is apparently thinking the same thing, justifying it in words. "Huh. You look familiar.".

"Oh good. I just didn't mean to - but bah. I guess it happens." Ash's smile is the brightest and whitest part of him, his lips spreading into an easy and friendly expression when Sasori turns to look at him. He kind of tilts his chin down and gains an air of sheepishness when she she steps away, his eyes widening as he steps back a half step as well. "Ahh. Don't worry. I don't think I got anything on your bag. Apologies again - if I did." He nods and bites his lip before another's voice draws his attention. "Oh? I - I do? Okay. Um, I'm not sure I've met you before. Maybe I just have one of those faces." He smiles again and turns sideways, eyeing the line and paying attention to the three around him.

Nicoleta and Toma garner Sasori's attention briefly but she doesn't intrude on that possible budding conversation there. She does however turn so that she can keep an eye on them all or at least pay attention. As the line shifts she ends up at the counter, "It is okay. Really. It is just a bag." She offers to Ash with a small smile and then turns her attention to the person taking orders and the like. She buys one of the combo's but replaces fries with onion rings and instead of a cola she gets tea.

When it comes to Nicoleta and Toma however, the outfits, accents, and bandages all get noticed with the latter taking priority. Sasori's lips purse into a frown then but she smooths her expression and nods politely.

Toma pauses for a second as he fully sees Ash's face, before tilting his head. "Do you by chance live at the Sunrise Apartments over in Clinton? I think we might be neighbors or something.". Nicoleta laughs, nodding. "That's where I fucking know you from. You live on our floor, I think.".

Toma doesn't seem to notice or acknowledge the frown coming from Sasori, but Nicoleta does. "What, never seen a fucking injured person before?".

Ash's smile returns when Sasori smiles at him, still a little fidgety and torn between the two parties. Then the pair reveal more information and his eyes widen. "Oh, man, really? That's ... true. I mean, I guess I just haven't been paying attention lately, what with my roommate being out of town and home just really not being a priority lately. But hey. Nice to meet you."

He takes a short break to turn back to the register and order himself a couple junkyard dogs and two of their homemade rootbeers. He needs to keep the line moving after all. When he turns back, he finds Nicoleta snarking. He pauses and holding his bottles, waiting on the rest of the food, and then half cringes. "I'm sure she's just worried. Are you okay? You look like you've gotten some medical attention, but if you needed anything else, I'd love to lend a hand."

Sasori smirks, "Oh sure." She says offhandedly, "I have seen injured people before hai. Not so many as deserving?" She smiles sweetly at Nicoleta before she takes her tray in one hand, slings the large heavy duffle with the other (and quite easily) over her other shoulder and looks about the establishment for a place to sit. Spotting a place she nods once to Ash and then turns and makes her way to her empty table. The duffle is set down, the tray follows, and she takes off her coat before sitting down and starting to eat her hotdog. Plain. No condiments. That's gotta be a sin somewhere.

"She's fine, just thinks the bandages looks cool. Mostly scars.". Toma begins ordering, one plain hot dog (SINNERS UNITE), and some abomination of toppings that is most definitely Nicoleta's. Speaking of who, is turning to Sasori at her comment. "You think I fucking deserved to get picked up outside my apartment and cut into like an animal? Kept in a fucking cell for days? Fuck you.". Nicoleta most definitely doesn't have a noise filter on right now, which is kind of..making Toma nervous.

Sasori doesn't even look to Nicoleta as she says, loud enough to carry now, "Cry me a river." She takes a drink of her tea, "You act like you are the only person bad things happened to? Grow up. Get over it. You are not special snowflake whom world revolves around." Yes Sasori is being harsh in words if not tone. Tonally she is simply being matter of fact. She takes a few bites of her food, wipes her fingers clean with a napkin, chases it with another drink of tea.

"I ... um." Ash stuffs his bottles of rootbeer in his pockets and glances over at Toma, an eyebrow raised. He wants to stay away from the tableau unfolding before him, but it is difficult. "Okay." he turns to the people behind the counter. "Can I get that to go?"

Toma is getting equally nervous at what is going on, as he glances back at Ash before glancing to the counter. "Same with ours, please?". Nicoleta, meanwhile is..remarkably upset at Sasori's words. "Yeah, howabout you go get fucking kidnapped outside of your apartment, drugged, watch people around you die while they fucking perform surgery on you for being fucking different. Sorry that I get fucking upset at someone who tells me I deserve to be treated like a fucking animal, you bitch.". Nicoleta exits Dogtown in a bit of a rush, whilst Toma stays to get his food, a small reply to Sasori. "I..apologize for her. It's just been a pretty tramautic week.". Toma's face is /pretty/ guilty over what just happened.

Sasori looks at Nicoleta and is about to say something in response but she is rushing out apparently. She looks over towards Toma and shrugs slightly but isn't very apologetic, or guilty. "Life is hard." She eventually says, "She can choose to fight, or choose to be victim. This is something I learn years ago after I was kidnapped, stabbed, abused, and watched my mother murdered in front of me hai?" She turns her attention back to her meal then.

Ash receives his dogs in a paper sack. He smiles his appreciation to the staff before turning to Toma. "Take good care of her. I guess I'll see you around." He then turns to head out on his way.

Soon after, Toma gets his own, nodding to Sasori, still a guilty face. "Again, I apologize. And for your mother. Guess the world's just a terrible place.". Toma bows his head in apology again, before rushing out.
