Description

xxxxxAccessible up a flight of stairs from the coffeeshop below, Evolve's nightclub is only open Thursday-Sunday nights. The bar stretches wide along the back wall, polished dark wood with an abundance of drinks available behind, their selection none too high-end. A balcony overlooks the dancefloor, filled with plush black and green couches and armchairs and small black-wood and glass tables between them. The stark white and black walls encourage graffiti, paint markers of all shades hung around the walls by chains.

Notes & Trivia
|
- Like many other businesses in the city, Evolve was hit hard financially by the zombie outbreak and closed after the plague while its owners got finances in order. A large fundraiser to re-open the popular community hangout got the cafe and its adjoining club back up and running in summer 2016.
- The nightclub is usually only open on Thursday through Saturday nights.
- 18 to enter, 21 to drink.
- Evolve used to be quite poor about catching fake IDs. Since their new ownership, though, they're a good deal stricter about underage drinking and seem uncannily good about detecting fake IDs.
- In hiring, Evolve highly prioritizes obvious visible mutants and also mutants with criminal records -- i.e., those in the community who have the most difficult time finding employment elsewhere.
- At times that the nightclub is not open, the space is available to be reserved -- free of charge, though donations are very welcome -- to groups that would like a safe meeting space. It currently plays home to everything from a mutant-friendly Alcoholics Anonymous to a book club to an LGBT youth group to a knitting circle to a tabletop roleplaying group. Anyone interested in using the space can talk to Shane, Aly, or Daiki about reserving a time (either one-time or recurring) and they reserve the right to deny any functions they do not feel comfortable with.

Important Events
|
- 2013-06-11: An anti-mutant firebombing burns Evolve down, killing three; though centered on the coffeeshop below, the damage is extensive enough to close its adjoining nightclub as well.
- Late 2015-2016: Like many other businesses in the city, Evolve was hit hard financially by the zombie outbreak and closed for nearly a year amidst rumours of bankruptcy. The cafe reopened Halloween 2016 following the Evolympics, a mutant-focused sporting event that began as a fundraiser to reopen the cafe but is set to turn into a regular occurrence for mutant athletes.
