A young man from Switzerland with the ability to phase into and travel through other materials. He joined the Brotherhood when he lost everything else and was searching for a purpose in life.

| History

Simon grew up in Switzerland, the only child of two fairly average people. His upbringing was just as uneventful, Simon going to school and enjoying sports. He faced some bullying problems due to being more sensitive and less sporty than some of his peers but it wasn’t enough to make things unbearable. When Simon’s mutant powers manifested, he was terrified at first. Especially because the local pastor was the type that preached against mutants and Simon came from a somewhat religious family. He eventually came to terms with being a mutant and continued on through school and into university.
During a vacation where they family went skiing, Simon was caught in an avalanche and used his powers to save himself. This revealed them to many people and life took a turn for the worse for Simon. His parents became distant and when word reached school, Simon was kicked out. The church became hostile and one night people came and set fire to the Hall residence. Simon was able to save his family but his father was seriously injured and put into a coma. His mother lashed out at Simon, blaming him all for it, and he fled. Simon spent several days wandering until he found an abandoned church. Just as he was begging for something to believe in, for some sign that he shouldn’t just sink away and never return…some members of the Brotherhood traveling in Europe arrived at the church, having been using it as a hideout. Once they discovered Simon was a mutant too, they taught him Magneto’s ways and told him about the fight for mutants. Taking it as a sign, Simon agreed to join the Brotherhood and to return with them to America to continue the fight there.

Phase Morphing: Simon is able to alter his physical structure and phase into any physical mass he’s in contact with. This allows him to merge with the material and travel through it, reforming himself at other locations, angles, and positions as he emerges from the object. It only takes him a few moments to enter and pass through materials. This allows him to accomplish such feats as entering a wall on the top floor of a building and emerging from the ground floor a few moments later. He’s also able to partially phase himself to protect himself from things like projectiles, allowing them to pass through his body harmlessly. He can phase into solids and liquids alike but solids are far easier.
Simon is able to extend this effect to other objects and people he’s touching but doing so puts a strain on him. His absolute limit for passengers is about 8 adults and afterwards he would need time to rest before he could do much of anything. While he is virtually undetectable through conventional means while phased into something, telepaths are able to read his mind and certain other ‘super abilities’ could detect him. If something he were phased into were destroyed, such as a wall being broken, he’d be forced out and severely disoriented and likely injured as well.

Simon speaks a few languages: English, German, and French. He grew up with parents speaking English and German and took French in school. He’s a fairly good cook and able to draw pretty well. He’s got a year of college under his belt and was studying accounting. Simon is also pretty good at tennis and on a snowboard.
