History xxxxxBorn in Stevens Point, WI, Anette Eccleston was the only child of a high school history teacher and a housewife. She had a rather quiet and normal childhood, though she never had many friends and preferred spending time with herself, though she was very close with her family.She slowly discovered her powers in beginning in middle school, though she didn't realize that's what they were. At first, she thought she just had exceptional hearing and eyesight, including the ability to see in the dark. However, she realized something was very different when she grew wings on her back. The wings lead to her extensive leather jacket collection. Her parents noticed just as quickly and she was quickly pulled from school. This didn't prevent the bullying and humiliation though. Her parents, unsure of what to do, found Xavier's school. They sent her there and she finished high school, while also discovering her powers. xxxxxHowever, she found herself at odds with the school's stance on mutant/human relations. She refused to believe it could happen peacefully and felt the only way was to fight back against injustices. She gained very few friends in school this way, though she did gain knowledge of the Brotherhood of Mutants. At 18, once she graduated, she took off for New York to find the Brotherhood and join them. xxxxxAfter assisting in rescue efforts after an explosion in an apartment building, Anette finally got the Brotherhood's attention and joined their ranks. A loyal and effective member, she is not without some controversy. When people began dreaming of the future, Anette began dreaming of herself with advanced powers but also alone and with a child. The dreams eventually revealed the father as Daken, whom she had only just started a casual relationship with in the present time. More shockingly, her future self was in love with him. An avid believer of emotions complicating things, she felt betrayed by her own head for falling in love. Daken however, took it as a sign that they were meant to be more than friends. Anette found herself falling for him in the present and, despite her best efforts, found herself seriously dating him. When she died in the dreams rescuing her child from a lab, she snapped, suffering nightmares. Not knowing how to cope, she turned to snorting cocaine. xxxxxFor the length of their relationship, Anette slowly continued to fall in love with Daken and, for the first time, opened herself up to another person and let him. Still, this was new territory for her and she was terrified and anxious. That and the constant fighting and doubts made that time both the best and the worst time of her life. To cope, she began snorting more frequently, eventually smoking when powder wasn't enough. xxxxxShe also managed to make herself slightly infamous. During a drunken outing with Ion, she was caught on camera destroying sentinels. When a big green guy raged out in Central Park, an attempt to save police from being attacked resulted in a bullet in her leg. These incidents, on an already unstable mind, found her lashing out at those close to her, blaming Ion for her leg. Having already attacked those she blamed for her future selves problems, she was told in no uncertain terms she needed to take control of her life. Eventually, she realized her anger issues were out of control and attempted to mend most of the burnt bridges. Most. xxxxxWhen Daken left her, she was heartbroken, yet somehow relieved. Emotionally free for the first time in months, she immediately went back to her old ways. Casual relationships, letting no one in, remaining emotionally distant. However, her drug addiction and set in and she was smoking near daily. Despite warnings and concern from friends, Anette refused to quit until she was attacked by her dealer. Realizing the dangerous position she had put herself in, she finally stepped away from drugs. During this time, she also contracted the zombie virus, becoming severely affected and attacking several people close to her before getting the cure. Enduring these hardships, she finally realized the strength of not being alone. Powers xxxxxAnette is, more or less, an owl. This includes: Wings Highly enhanced eyesight and hearing Yellow eyes Talons instead of fingers A really freaking loud screech 270 degree swiveling neck Connections Allies Dusk - One of the few carrying the title of "trusted". Maybe it's the wings. Ion - Partner-in-crime for bad decisions. Isra - One of the few voices of reasons in her life. Killian - Partner-in-crime for everything else Theme Pedro - Too good for her, even as a friend Theme Regan - Respectable leader, not very many of those Teague - Such a sweet kid. Theme Enemies Rasa - Rasa also betrayed Anette and her child in the future but took a more active role, actually having custody of the child and indirectly leading to Anette's death. While Anette is willing to give B a second chance, she has no plans of giving Rasa the same. Others B - In the future, ze abandons Anette and her child to Sentinels. Present Anette obviously didn't take it well and...ahem, voiced her displeasure. With claws. Since then, she's attempted to apologize and though she doesn't trust hir, will try her hardest not to attempt to murder hir. Billy - They weren't on good terms in school. It hasn't gotten much better. He hates her and she knows it. She enjoys messing with him though; he's the mouse in her cat-and-mouse game. He also responds well to the name "Clorox". Honestly, she doesn't really /hate/ him, she just loves watching him squirm. Daken - Current Status: Ex. Theme Trivia Some might remember her having a goth phase back at Xavier's. By phase, it was pretty much the entire time she was there. She owns a pretty massive leather jacket collection, due to the need to cover her wings when out in public. Conversationally fluent in German. There are several reasons she is as angry and untrusting as she is but there's one memory that still haunts her. It's also the reason she is incredibly protective of her wings. She collects scars. Currently has: a small bullet wound on the back of her right calf, a very deep and jagged scar that is roughly the shape and size of a large wildcat's jaws on her left shoulder, and a barely visible bullet wound in her right shoulder. As of right now, a recovering cocaine addict. Withdrawal is a bitch, thank god there's booze. Once plagued by nightmares following the future dreams, this led to the drug addiction. They've most disappeared but occasionally they reoccur. News? - She's been in the news relatively recently for two separate incidents, one involving the destruction of Sentinels and the other involving a big green dude. She's been laying low since but if she does sneak back to the city, you might recognize her. Flirting? - She's pretty open to flirting, from any gender. She's also pretty open to everything that occurs after flirting. However, her player might be slow picking these things up so making it painfully obvious would be appreciated.
