Occupation Security Chief, Hatchet Man

Mike is Cameron Caleswood's oldest friend, and is currently the Daedalus Group's chief of security. The Saint-Quentin family have historically been vassals of the Caleswoods, and there's something of a tradition of pairing Caleswood children up with 'squires' from a vassal family. Thus, for years Michael was the only one around the Caleswood household that little Cameron could trust /not/ to be a total nutcase.

When Cameron went off to school, Michael went off to the military. When he returned, Cameron's life was in flames and the young doctor was preparing to make war on the world. So Michael helped!

Generally he acts as the "funny guy" to Caleswood's straight man, and the brawn to Caleswood's brain. He's gregarious and outgoing and something of a party animal, especially considering his age. He's also a special forces veteran, a lethal brawler and a deadly shot: socially he's the Good Cop, but martially he's Caleswood's enforcer. And despite their differences, he and Cameron are practically inseparable, seeing each other as the only allies they can genuinely trust.

And like Cameron, he's a vanilla human. He prefers to tangle with powerful mutant foes by way of high explosives to the face, and it is a continuing frustration of his present employment that he /can't/ throw about heavy artillery when it would be useful without The Feds coming down and asking pointed questions about "who authorized this" and "how did you even /get/ a tank."

He's also gay, something he's taken pains to conceal from the world at large, especially given the number of stuffy conservative rich people he deals with from day to day. Also in consideration is his rather obvious bromance with the (heterosexual) Caleswood: presently them being a couple is a running joke, but if word got out he was /actually/ gay it'd become A Thing. Privately, they've /long/ since discussed the matter and dealt with any potential tension.
