xxxxxThe leafy haired barista at Happy Cakes Bakery in TriBeCa. Always willing to experiment with coffee drinks, and a great memory for what her customers drink, and how they take their coffee. Takes extraordinarily good care of her custom built espresso machine, Bessy. Touch the machine, and she will hurt you. Recently, she has taken to roasting coffee beans herself, and a sampling of them are available to enjoy at Happy Cakes.
xxxxxVery much attached to Hanna, both as a co-owner of the bakery, room mate, and more recently once-again lover. She is the more grounded of the pair, and provides a more down-to-earth counter part to Hanna's exuberance. She met Hanna in a bar outside of Chicago, on a cold winter night two years ago. The circumstances of that meeting are not something either woman speaks with often.

xxxxxStanding about 5'4" with a lithe dancer's build, Jayna rather resembles a dryad from folk tales. Her skin is an earthy brown color, with a slight patterning of bark on her hands and feet, as well as at her temples and along her spine. Her almond shaped eyes are the color of newly sprouted leaves in the Spring. She favors clothing in greens and earthy tones, loose and flowing if possible, leaving her back and arms bare whenever possible.
xxxxxJayna's hair marks her as a mutant for about 3/4 of the year - in Spring, she has a mane of soft, new growth willow fronds, which will sport delicate white and pink flowers for one week in mid April; in Summer her "hair" is tick and lustrous like the fronds of an old willow tree, including her eyebrows; in the fall, her leaves began to fade into fall colors, before ultimately falling off as Winter approaches; in Winter, Jayna is entirely bald, her fronds having fallen off entirely by the first hard frost of the year.

xxxxxDown to earth, relaxed, and generally friendly. Very loyal to Hanna and the bakery, and occasionally prone to worry that Hanna has put herself in danger by being so openly mutant friendly. Dedicated to the art of coffee, and the worst threat she ever slings at anyone is that she will give them decaff. She doesn't even drink the stuff.

xxxxxAltered physiology: Jayna is a willow tree. Her internal systems are more tree-like than human at this point. She requires copious amounts of water, otherwise she starts to wilt and have trouble functioning. Rather than needing to root, Jayna draws nutrients from food, and then photosynthesizes it into sugar to be stored later - she does not need to eat often in the Spring and Summer. During the late Autumn and Winter, she is sluggish, tired, and generally a touch grumpy. She does not have hair, but instead has willow fronds on her head - she will not answer any questions about hair below the neck, and may give you decaf if you ask about it. The skin of her hands, feet, spine, and around her hairline are vaguely bark-like with whirls and patterns like that of a tree.
xxxxxHer leaves have minor medicinal properties, acting as a minor analgesic (like asprin)... however, it hurts if they are plucked and she generally avoids mentioning this ability. She is allergic to caffeine, although the amount that she gets from inhaling coffee vapors is not enough to do anything to her.
xxxxxPlant Friendly: Jayna can make plants grow better by being around them. This is a passive ability, and just means that they grow in more flavorful, lusher, and more robustly than they would otherwise. She is walking miracle grow.
