History
|
xxxxx Unbeknownst to Daniel, he is one of Naomi Kale's three children, though he is only aware of his sister Barbara. The only mother he ever knew was Francis Ketch, who raised Barbara and himself like her own. Growing up he was a model student and best friend's with his younger sister. The pair was inseparable, up until one fateful Halloween night. Barbara convinced him that they should walk cut through the cemetery on their way home in hopes of seeing the ghost of Harry Houdini, but all they saw that night was a man being mugged. Barbara's scream alerted the gunman to the pair's presence and he shot her, causing Daniel's mutation to manifest and the Rider to be born. He beat the mugger and his accomplices near to death before stealing one of their bikes to rush Barbara to the hospital, but she died shortly afterwards. Grief and guilt stricken he packed up and hit the road, not returning to New York until two years later.
