Despite the rough persona she presents, Morgan’s ability to be "one of the guys" is what allows her to be effective in most situations. She is headstrong at times and wears her emotions (mostly anger) on her sleeve. She is crass, predatory, and impulsive.

Formerly employed by the New York Police Department, Morgan was let go after an undisclosed incident involving an excessive use of force on her part while apprehending a suspect targeting young mutant women. In reality, her latent mutation had been manifesting for some time and she finally cracked under the pressure of it all. Before that, in her nine years on the job she built up a reputation on the street for abusing her power, taking bribes, and skimming off the top.

Morgan can visibly “freeze” a designated object or person mid-action in what would be perceived by them as a temporal nano-second while everything and everyone else continues to move freely. She can "freeze" multiple objects that are touching, but is limited by distance, the mass of the target(s) in question, and how long she can “freeze” for.
She also has temporal cognition, which gives her an enhanced understanding of the precise time and timing personally, locally, and objectively.
