xxxxxBudi has brown, darkly tanned skin and soft, furlike black hair, which grows naturally thicker and longer along the center of his skull. He's short and sinewy and oddly built -- his arms and torso are long, but his legs and neck are short; his hands and feet are large, but his head is small; he has small, wide-set eyes, a flat snubby nose, a very wide mouth full of short, sharp teeth. His shoulders have a round, hunched slope; his gait on two legs is clumsy and a little slow; his body hair is long and silky. From a distance, any of these traits on their own might not have distinguished Budi as a mutant, but put altogether they give him an uncanny-valley unusuality only compounded by his very large ears, which are not quite human in shape or position, and decidedly inhuman in the extra bones and musculature that allows him to angle them at will; Budi habitually keeps these pressed down and back, flat against his skull, but his hair doesn't grow long enough to hide them. Though his eyes appear human by daylight, in the dark they have a reflective gleam.

xxxxxWeirdos from Planet Earth (Vol. 1) fans remember him as CHUCKLES, but few will cop to being specific fans of his after his disappointing performance and early disqualification. His fellow contestants mostly remember him for his gruesome death.

|
xxxxxHard to catch, hard to kill. Budi is fast, tough, and resilient -- he has unusually strong bones, thick skin, and a heightened immune system -- and can heal more quickly and completely than humans can, even from life-threatening injuries. This sometimes has the unfortunate and inconvenient side effect of temporarily shutting down all of his systems when overtaxed, in a convincing but sadly uncontrollable feigned death.

xxxxxFluent in colloquial Madripoorean English and Bahasa Indonesia, conversant in Malay, and rather less than conversant in Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, and Tagalog, though he's only (semi-)literate in English and Arabic. Great customer service voice in any of these languages. Can find his way around most boats and guns without much trouble, even very hi-tech ones (by Earth standards, at least.) Extremely good at stripping down electronics, though it's presently beyond him to identify what any individual component does and also to put everything back together again. Can clean pretty much anything of any size with a toothbrush and enough time, though he won't enjoy it. Not terribly practiced with one-on-one fights, but he can hold his own in a brawl; he fights very dirty.

| scrapheap city - Budi doesn't have much in Madripoor worth going back for, just dead ends and debt. He's wanted out for a long time.

| cannon fodder - Need someone to do something really stupid and dangerous? Nothing has ever actually killed Budi, and it's kind of going to his head.
