Introduction xxxxxIt is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious. Description xxxxxDamien is just over six feet tall, chiseled out of angular lines. He sports deep black hair with a very slightly blue sheen and eyes so dark brown they may as well be black. His features are sharp -- thin face, pointed chin, very prominent downturned jag of a nose, lightly tanned skin. Though he is not particularly handsome there is something compelling in his bearing and otherworldly grace that often draws a second look. Reputation xxxxxNone, really. History xxxxxDamien has been in this world a very long time, and been in several others before that. Powers xxxxxDamien is a fae. He is magic and he does magic; most noticeably and potently this occurs around finding out and granting people's desires. He influences luck and serendipity to assist with the granting of wishes, and can sour that same luck if people break their word to him. In general, though, he tries to leave people's lives a little better than before he came into them. The main impacts that this has on people around him in RP are: Making agreements of any kind with him -- facetious or serious, clearly hyperbolic or not, under coercion, intoxicated, it does not matter -- becomes magically binding. Breaking agreements with him can have unfortunate consequences. People can and will be held to their word even if what they said was fully never intended to be a promise -- "I'll eat my hat if X" "I would die for some Y" etc would all constitute magically binding statements to him if their conditions are fulfilled. Breaking agreements with him will reap a threefold toll over what was originally promised. If Damien asks someone any question relating to their desires/wishes/hopes/dreams, they are magically compelled to answer him as best and truthfully as they can. ICly this does not feel like a compulsion -- the person will not feel as though they've been compelled to answer, just as though it felt right to answer the question. It can in some cases prompt people to unearth desires in themselves they had not previously been aware of. Living creatures under Damien's care (whether long-term or short-term) benefit more than would be expected from that care. The meals he cooks for people are particularly satisfying, wounds he bandages will heal just a tiny bit faster than before, kids he is babysitting have a delightful and fun-filled day, etc. He has a glamour that allows him to fit in to whatever society he is in, which on earth means that he generally looks human rather than being noticeably fae -- contrary to some myths about fae, his glamour does not make him exceptionally beautiful or anything like that. To most strangers it does make him perpetually both a little bit intriguing and a little bit exotic. People can never quite place his ethnic or cultural background but are generally confident it is different than their own -- he always has the indefinable air of a slightly out of place traveler who seems like they would be interesting to talk to. It is a mild degree of magic that is not strong enough to override people's formed opinions once they get to know him -- it just smooths the way for interactions with people who might not otherwise strike up a conversation with him. He is invulnerable to nearly all physical force, with the exception of being Quite Vulnerable to pure iron. (Relevant only to Magic Users:) He generates a small amount of magical aura at all times; to those who can detect magic he is a very bright well of it in a world that does not come by too much magic naturally.
