xxxxxBroad and tall and muscular, Ansel is a lot of rough edges and hard lines. 6'1" of scarred and tattooed muscle, his often stern expressions only add to his generally imposing demeanor. His eyes are a light brown, his skin generally tanned, and he keeps his dark hair cropped short.

xxxxxBorn the middle son of a middle-class family in Ohio, Ansel's life was a pleasant enough one. He was close to his brothers, in age as well as in relationship; they had a fairly close-knit childhood spent getting into no more than the usual amount of trouble. A lot of fishing trips with their dad, the occasional exciting trip to Disney World, summers spent at Scout camp or visiting their grandparents in Montana. He was a thoroughly average student, good on the soccer and basketball teams.
xxxxxHe enlisted in the Army straight out of high school, did a tour in Kuwait, came home, got married, got deployed again to Iraq, came home to a tiny daughter, got sent back to Iraq but this time returned on a discharge when his higher ups found out about his mutation. It was an ex Army buddy that let him know there was a small but growing community of people like them, who'd been loyal military men but kicked out over a mutation they had done nothing wrong with, and recommended him to Company X, a private military contractor who was formed to take advantage of the growing number of mutants discharged from the military for that reason.
xxxxxHe's been working at Prometheus for several years now, growing steadily more exhausted with the work -- in no small part due to the daily horrors he sees, in no small part also due to a painful leg injury sustained two years back when Jax and Ryan's team hit up the lab he used to work at in Ohio. He's since been transferred to Maine, farther from his family and not pleased about it -- but he has a daughter just about to head to college, a disabled son with a lot of expensive medical needs, and stable jobs are hard to find.
