Until very recently, Sergio was still a carefree, adventurous teenager and that person is still around ...somewhere.

| History
|
|
Sergio was born into a large, supportive extended family. Though an only child, he grew up in an encouraging, loving environment that was heavily saturated with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He grew into a playful and rambunctious teen with a dream to someday play professional sports.
When his mutant abilities began to manifest, he was initially treated for narcolepsy. As his symptoms continued to worsen and he began to lose stretches of days, he was placed in a round-the-clock care facility.
In reality, he was living vivid out-of-body experiences, abandoning his waking life altogether. Discovering dark secrets about his friends and family made him less and less inclined to indulge them, and he found that he preferred to remain asleep. He would ride along with the surfers and sunbathers on the beach.
During a hurricane, he helped members of the X-Men who were aiding in last minute evacuation. Sergio would enter into harmful areas and inform them of where people were most in need of assistance. Being involved in the heroic efforts, the boy’s faith in humanity was partially restored. He was convinced to return with them to the institute, where he discovered his new dream: to someday become a member of the X-Men.
During its second wave, Sergio contracted and fell victim to the zombie virus. Under the assumption that a separation might stop his corpse from rising up and attacking his loved ones, he remained separated from his physical body during the end of his days. Only knowing ASL and English, this meant he spent a great deal of this time alone.
While his body rose as undead, his disembodied mind lingered on. Unable to reconcile with the traumatic experience of witnessing his own death and still exhibiting the mental symptoms of the virus, Sergio fled the institute as an untethered, purely telepathic being.
In the days that followed, he reappeared ...having taken over someone else's body.

| Powers
|
|
Sergio is a disembodied telepathic entity with the ability to travel the world freely. Lacking traditional senses, he is incapable of perceiving the world around him on his own. Instead, he telepathically gleans sensory information about his surroundings from the minds of others. If he ever were to find himself in a situation without any conscious minds, he would experience only an endless, black abyss.
Tiffany, his host, has previously suffered telepathic damage unrelated to Sergio. As a result, her mind has been wiped completely clean. The psychic assault has also permanently altered the architecture of her mind, thus creating hairline cracks in her mental defenses. These cracks make her more susceptible to mind-altering abilities than most and allow Sergio to come and go at will. With each use, these cracks fractionally grow.
While it is impossible for anyone to pick up on Sergio’s presence by normal means, other psychics would experience seeing Sergio’s residual self image.

- Sergio's favorite sports team is the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors from the University of Hawaii.
- Although he has been known to let people assume that he can, Sergio cannot read thoughts.
- Sergio took over the body of a girl named Tiffany Newetner. She was runner up for Miss New York Teen. Her talent was playing the flute.
- Tiffany was accidentally mind-wiped prior to Sergio's telepathic body snatching by someone you might very well know.
- When a medical team studying the zombie virus and its mutations discovered Sergio in Tiffany after his death, the city's quarantine was nearly extended.
